I know that you are learning about music .. specifically Rock music .. but , the fact that you don't know that this song was originally sung by Sting.. of The Police , is so weird. Of course it is a cover , people all around the world know that Sting recorded this song. It is just weird that you have zero connection with what has been played on the radio billions of times. Toast done on one side. Is exactly as it sounds. You need to do it on a grill. You simply only toast one side. You don’t turn it over. It keeps it moister. I went through a phase of doing it like that many, many years ago.

What if you make a grilled cheese? Do you not flip it ? It taste better. IDK if it tastes better or not because I've never tried just cook it on one side. Worth trying now.

@@Hope...M I’m in the England. We call it cheese on toast. I make it by toasting one side Then adding the cheese to the un toasted side. The grilling the cheese. Then add a splash of Worcestershire sauce. Pronounced (wuss ter sha)

As others have said, this is a Sting cover from about 35 years ago. The role model for Englishman is Quentin Crisp, and he appeared in Sting's music video.

By the way, "one-sided" toast under the broiler with dots of butter, is the only toast worth eating! The bottom un-toasted side is super "soft" and you got toast that almost taste like a pastry from a dang Bakery! lol

great reaction! You asked about the difference between British and English, Britain is the connected land mass containing the countries Scotland+Wales+England, the Big Push were based in Brighton, England.
It's a Sting cover. Sting wrote the original about Quentin Crisp. Great stuff from Ren, him and the lads are so versatile when it comes to different styles of music. Quetin Crisp was a real eccentric and moved from London to New York. You will probably not of heard of him because he died in 1999. But his old interviews on You Tube are still interesting. He was an old fashioned raconteur.

The whole toast on one side is as much of a mystery to Brits as anyone. It's a song about Quentin Crisp, a gay author famous for his book "The Naked Civil Servant". John Hurt played him in an adaption by the BBC.
British is someone from the British Isles, English is someone from England, which is in the British Isles. The UK is the United Kingdom of Britain and Northern Ireland. This is made up of England, Wales, Northern Ireland and Scotland. The Irish from the Republic of Ireland don't refer to themselves as British because although they're part of the islands of Britain, they're a seperate country from Britain, which is Scotland, Wales and England. This profusion of names for, what is actually, a pretty small collection of islands, is what you get from 1600 years of beating the shit out of each other and getting along like a problematic family.

@@mightyakkylex I come by way too many KZread reactors that may not be aware of their (voice/video) volume "balance" and if it's way off (especially when all you hear is reactors comments but hardly any of the actual video) THAT can kill the entire reaction for me (and I imagine for a few others as well).

The fact of the matter is, I observe reactors who get it right to perfection all the time, so it CAN be done.

It's a Sting 'cover' but all their covers take the essence of the original and merge them with the essence of the band. Part of the reason Ren will list some songs as 'retakes' not remixes or covers

Ren is British but he's Welsh not English. The original was by Sting, the ex frontman of the band Police. Another nice reaction.
Ren's from the UK, more precisely from Wales, but not from England. So he's British and Welsh but not English. But it's ok, he's not in New York either ;-)

It means the bread is only toasted on one side- not both. Obviously you cant do that in a toaster only under a grill.

This is a cover of a Sting song, but they did add their own flair. Ren is Welsh, so that makes him British but not English. Gorran (longer hair) is English, but Romain (wearing hat) is French.

English and British aint the same thing, but thats a long conversation. Whats mor interesting is that sting, who wrote this song was massively influenced by the Jamaican population of london. You can watch yhe origal sting version, but the entire point was to point at the english. Who love Carribbean music but attacked the blacks (windrush gen if you want to do some research)
Ren is Welsh not English. Britain is the island Scotland, England and Wales are on.

Being british encompasses being Irish, Northern Irish, Scottish, Welsh and English, while English just means you are from England, not from the British isles.
