Lauren Daigle wrote this beautiful and inspiring song, which is a single from her 2018 album Look Up Child. I agree that her tone is close to Angelina's, and needless to say, they both sound incredible in this wonderfully done mashup. Yes, it is a Christian song, and as I mentioned in the comments on your reaction to Angelina's version her live performance of this song at the end of her 2021 live-streamed Christmas concert may be the most moving performance by any artist I've ever seen.

`You say` was the last song of her Christmas streaming live concert but it was the only pre-recorded song, it was not live. It was clearly produced adding a bit of reverb etc...

@@sulatlalaki Hello, Charles! Yes, I was aware of that. I dubbed her a 'Messenger of Love' a while ago and someone explained to me exactly what you have stated. What is extraordinary about it is that it comes very naturally to her. She has come to recognize the affect she has on us and all we ever want her to be is to remain the Angelina Jordan we have come to love. Vocally and artistically she is a phenom and what a pleasure it is to listen to her sing for us. The soulfulness within her transitions into the form of love when she sings and that's what touches our hearts. It's 'who she is' that matters most of all. Charles, because of the joy, hope and love she has instilled in us we have become kinder, more caring and loving in our lives than ever before. In essence, she has made us messengers of love. Ask yourself, when you introduce Angelina to someone you know (or, even strangers) is it because you want them to listen to her sing because you know what will happen to them if they do? She is creating a global family of people who are believing in love and understand to make the world a better place to live for everyone, particularly for those less fortunate, it cannot materialize without love in people's hearts.

Lauren Daigle is amazing singer! I’ve got all her albums and I’ve been her fan ever since I heard the first note of her singing. I have never heard of Angelina but this video makes me want to listen to her too.

I believe that the difference we perceive between the two is that Angelina has the ability to emote beyond most artists. Lauren is brilliant, yet Angelina brings this aspect of transferring emotion to the listener which makes it more powerful to many.

It always amazes me how much passion Angelina is able to POUR into her performances, her voice. I pray she never loses this gift.

One of my favorite songs, Lauren Daigle has some amazing songs, check out “hold on to me”. I agree Angelina does run her words together, not annunciating each word, but her performance is truly amazing. She still reminds of Billie Holiday when she sings slightly behind the tempo.

When I watched Angelina's live virtual Christmas concert in 2021, she was 15, she ended the concert with this amazing song and I cried, for also that God my heavenly father answered my prayer that she would sing it. God is so good 👍. Yes Angelina and her family are Christians ✝️ ❤. They are from the protestant belief non denomination. Kind of like a Jack Hibbs here in the US. Here grandma even painted a painting of Jesus love for us through his sacrifice ❤. They are a very private family and we respect that as her fans. I totally agree about their tones! I didn’t know who Lauren Daigle was until I heard AJ’s version. Lauren is fantastic! Angelina has always been able to convey so much emotion and warmth and with the rasp sounds so much older than her actual age. Can’t say if she believes, but I do know she was blessed with more vocal ability and is driven to perfect it more than any person I’ve ever heard!

Yes, Angelina’s audio was from her streamed online Christmas concert in 2021. The performance live was incredible and it was put together (at the last minute) by her mentor (and pianist) at Republic Records, Rob Christie. He put together her band for this occasion… legendary Jazz musicians Jimmy Zavala (Saxophone for Etta James), bassist Chuck Berghofer (bass player for Frank Sinatra), Greg Field (drummer for Ray Charles, Ella Fitzgerald), and Shelly Berg (pianist). All of them are Grammy nominated musicians with many Grammys among them. Angelina interviewed (and was interviewed by) all of them midway through the show (she was in her glory… like a kid in a candy shop). 🖤👣

I generally do not go in and listen to a reactor before I've heard the piece, but this popped up and was already automating? So I went with it. Sometimes something falls in your lap just when you are desperate for relief. Thank you for all of your great reactions. I love watching angelina reactions especially by real vocal coaches. Oh it is amongst my favorite things to watch her break vocalistsand coaches down like a twelve gage shotgun. To see her melt the minds and break the heartstrings of the strong and macho. When I first heard Angelina's version (and somehow not being aware of Lauren's), I quickly found the lyrics to confirm what I was thinking - that it is a Christian song / prayer to God. Such a beautiful, beautiful song. No wonder the YT video has been viewed 297M (!) times, and see it has touched many hearts. God is great in His creation of both Lauren and Angelina. As for the 2 versions - I also at first was having trouble telling their voices apart, at least near the start of the song. Interestingly, I went and found some live versions by Lauren to try to do an apples-to-apples comparison to Angelina's live version - and while still beautiful, they didn't have the Angelina-like richness of tone of Lauren's studio version.

I would love to hear them both sing this live together... I think big factor on the difference is that Lauren on standard studio version and Angelina singing it live. So hearing them doing it together with same mic and environment might be tough for someone being blindfolded to say who is who.
