3:30 fun fact, Arkham Asylum was actually the first Arkham game and was released in 2009. So the graphics were really good considering the time. And Arkham Knight was actually made 2015. So those are the graphics that are like 8 years old.

arkham knight is so insanely beautiful still. I've had the game since 2015 now and replay it like 1-2 times per year (along with the other arkham games) and every time i get to Arkham Knight I still just marvel at Gotham city and the rain on Batman's cowl. It's crazy

The Arkham games laid the foundation for the new gen Spiderman games. We need more quality games like these!

Spider-Man 2004 was actually the first superhero game to have the dodge combat mechanic and open world that the Arkham games were inspired by.

Get your thumb out of your ass these are just comic book characters. Milking one above any other won’t bring them to life.

Arkham Knight has my personal favourite trailers but naturally you'll not be able to watch for spoiler reasons. The graphics, tone, art design, dialogue, and editing is just on point.

I get what you mean, but its not really an origin story. It's Batman at the earliest point in his career, not the beginning point. This game does take place before arkham asylum, but neither story impact the other. You need to play or watch Asylum to understand why this character is doing this or why that chacter has done that and same with Arkham Knight. To my knowledge, nothing from Origins is ever brought up in the following games. Same with Arkham Origins: Blackgate. That's a prequel game, but is it really necessary to play it to enjoy the following games?

I mean I agree you don't have to play one to enjoy the others, but in the beginning of Asylum the Joker brings up a fire in blackgate where his men could have gotten hurt. So I can't say there is nothing from origins brought up in the others.@@Jesterclown17

Yes, Arkham Asylum (2009) was the first one. Then Arkham City (2011), widely regarded as the best game in the franchise and is a fan favorite. Then Arkham Origins (2013) which was a prequel made by a difficult studio that I would say is the least interesting of the 4 games. It’s not bad, but I wouldn’t start here. Then Arkham Knight (2015), which is the last game.

Actually in more recent years Arkham origins has gotten a significant amount of praise and has become somewhat of a fan favourite. In my opinion it has a better and more cohesive story than Arkham Knight

@@The_Phantasm it has been getting more praise. But I still think it is easily the weakest of the 4 games. Like I said, it isn’t bad. It’s a pretty good game. But when you’re on the same line up as the other three, it is definitely not a standout game. Maybe the Cold Cold Heart and Deathstroke boss battle, but other than that, the other 3 are too legendary.

@@The_Phantasm I’d still say it has the standout feature of the most advanced and perfected game mechanics. All of the main games have their own standout features. Asylum has its atmosphere. City is the fan favorite because it does everything right. And Knight like I said has the best game mechanics. But Origin doesn’t really have a standout. You can correct me if I’m wrong.

I'd recommend starting with Asylum. Origins is the first in the timeline but if you start with Asylum and then go to City and then Origins you get to see Joker and Batman's relationship and how it started and altered throughout the years and there are villains from Origins that appear in Knight so it's good to go from Origins to Knight. So I'd say go from release order.

These games have genuinely shaped my life from when I was young. Watching people play and react to these games make me so happy when they’re shocked with how good they are. Genuinely makes me so happy!

im happy that arkham games have resurfaced once more ( even though they never died down completely) also will you be checking out the injustice 2 cinematics? ps: arkham origins is not made by the same company who did the other 3 games. Asylum was the first arkham game released, but playing origins first is better to do timeline wise. Cause as the name persists, its the origins ( the youngest version of arkham batman and still a relatively new batman where the police see him as a threat and his first encounter with joker) when i replayed all the games i played it. Origins, asylum, city then Knight(my fave tbh)

Deathstroke is definitely the best boss battle, origins I really underrated. That being said, Knight is my favorite (with city being close 2nd) -also Deathstroke has a cameo in flashpoint paradox, just thought I’d mention that you’ve met him before 👍

I'd recommend just watching the cut scenes for Arkham Asylum and Arkham City (since you've already jumped onto Origins, you're going to hate the gameplay) and jumping straight onto Arkham Knight.... You get to drive the batmobile!!!

Nah, you're good. Arkham asylum was the first one made, but Arkham origins was the first one in the series, because Harley wasn't Harley Quinn yet. As for how many games are in the series, 4. Then there's Gotham Knights, and suicide Squad: kill the Justice League, which Arkham Batman is in.

These are the famous games created by Rocksteady Studious. There are numerous _side_ games in the series, made by other studios. _Arkham Origins_ (2013) is one such game, created by WB Montreal. There are a bunch of side games for mobile and then-current handheld consoles of the time. Yeah, the "Origins" is there because it is an (unofficial?) prequel game, even though it _sounds_ like it oughta be the first.

arkham origins is chronologically first arkham asylum was released first if you care for the story start with origins, or if you just wanna play the games for fun start with asylum - and tbh you can skip origins overall. origins is basically the black sheep of the arkham games because it was released by a different developer than the other 3 and was basically made as filler until arkham knight was released. so if you ever hear anyone refer to the arkham games as a trilogy instead of a tetralogy, then that’s why. and because it’s a prequel and made as a filler game, it doesn’t really effect the overall story in any way which is why you can skip it and not miss anything extremely important story wise. still a pretty alright game - has my favorite cut scenes of the bunch lmao

Origins has the best trailers hands down! There’s a shorter one they missed where it shows Bruce going through the years as a boy to when he becomes Batman. ...and never touch Gotham Knights. Not because it's not a part of Arkham series (though it definitely tries to mimic it), but because it's a poor quality game that was retrofitted at the last moment from the lazy live-service trash for Fortnite kids (which WB aimed for before Anthem and Avengers flopped spectacularly). It bears a lot in common from the first glance, but once you start playing, feel of how little this game was cared about, optimization is awful, visuals looks dated despite obviously better technology, stealth and combat are dumbed down, story is mediocre. Funnily enough, both Gotham Knights and Arkham Origins were made by the same studio of WB Games, and despite the latter being the lowest point of Arkham series, it still is an overall better game, despite being PS3 title. And despite Gotham Knights being PS5 title, Arkham Knight by Rocksteady easily blows it out of the water with its visuals and level of detail.
