One of my favorite DC animated movies! Last year DC Comics revealed what the letter from Thomas Wayne said: "Dear son, There's only one thing I know about life. I know some things happen by chance. And some things happen because we make them happen. Barry Allen was once haunted by the past. But when he became the Flash, he left the ghosts behind. He found love, a family. And for the first time ever... friends. Barry thought yesterday was behind him...but somebody wouldn't let him escape it. When Barry came to me for help, I turned him away. You ever hear the phrase "The road to hell is paved with good intentions"? Well, that's basically what this chapter is meant to teach the Flash (AKA Barry Allen). Flashpoint is such a powerful event in DC Comics, it caused a reboot of everyone's back story. It also teaches a lesson about learning to let go in order to move on with your life.

Flash got his powers when lightning hit his lab directly at him and chemicals fell on him which mixed gave him his abilities and also gave him direct contact with the speed force. The speed force is a dimension derived around speed which gives incredible powers to those who tap Into it. The reverse flash the yelllow guy taps into the speed force opposite which is the negative speed force. He is his number one nemesis just like the joker is to batman

CW's The Flash TV series Season 1 Episode 1 showed a much better logical origin than the chemical thing.

Bruce's mother was laughing because it was implied that in that timeline, his death drove her mad, and made her become The Joker.

You gotta realize how many wars started because of love in ancient history. And the amazons and Atlanteans are basically ancient history living in the present timeline so although it might seem silly to start a war because of an affair, which I completely agree with, the real reasons were more about greed, pride, ego and other things. Which makes a lot more sense (as those are still things that start wars and battles today)

You went into DC right into the deepend with this one. At the very least: Superman (the first one from the 70's or Man of Steel), Batman (maybe Keaton's 2?) and probably..maybe should've started with some of the early animated movies? :D The comic version of this story has sooo much more going on but they could not fill all of what is in the comics into an hour and half. so much more dark stuff happened. Superman draws his powers from the yellow sun's radiation, he's not solar powered where he needs direct sunlight haha

I mean he is just a solar battery with no threshold on how much he can charge. Its just in most issues he's been "charging" on earth since he was a baby resulting in him having access to his powers even when underground or deep under the sea

When it comes to animated superhero stuff, DC takes the cake!

The Flash was hit by a lightning and fell over some chemicals, that's his origin, also in this universe Bruce died, Thomas becomes Batman and Martha becomes Joker, that blue and red ship that fell into a city (Metropolis) was baby Superman, and also, that blue guy with a red thing on the chest, he's Captain Atom, basically a living nuclear bomb. There are plenty of things that u didn't catch yet, but you will understand in the other movies. And there is a post credit scene in this movie, isn't much, but is a teaser for the next movie "Justice League: War"

Absolutely up to see a reaction to this timeline. This movie started the "DC Animated Movie Universe" specifically. The "DC Animated Universe" is a different continuity that began in the 1990's with "Batman: The Animated Series" and included other shows and movies including "Superman: The Animated Series," "Batman Beyond," "Justice League (the tv series)," "Static Shock," "Justice League Unlimited (tv series)" and more. The DCAU has mostly wrapped up, though sometimes they'll add on to that story with a movie like they did with the release of "Justice League vs. The Fatal Five."

I basically just made the same post you did, just more fleshed out, then scrolled down and saw this (I basically summed up the DCAU, DCAMU, and the Tommorowverse in my post)

A Bit of Useful Information for you (I REALLY hope you see this) : The DC animated stuff historically has been great, most of them are amazing, with even the worst being at worst average/mediocre. The DCAU was Batman the animated Series, Superman the Animated Series, Justice League, Static Shock, Justice League Unlimited, and a few movies. The Flashpoint Paradox is the start of what fans refer to as the DCAMU (animated movie universe) which if memory serves spans like 10ish movies and is based on the New 52 comic revamp (which was started by the Flashpoint comic) largely, but also adapts several VERY famous comic storylines. It endes in like 2019-2020, and the current run of connected movies is called the "Tommorowverse" by fans, as it was kicked off by "Superman: Man of Tomorrow'

This movie is based on the Flashpoint comic book story, It play out pretty much like the movie. DC Comics used the story to reset their universe and relaunch all their titles in what was know as The New 52. All the comics from Oct 2011 restarted at issue #1 and ran for the next 5 years. Any knowledge you have is likely outside of that timeframe as a lot of characters got total makeovers. The series of movies that follow are all within this universe are based on the New 52 characters, even a few movie that are based on stories that precede the New 52 in the comics. Young Justice, which you said you've seen, is more based on the versions of the characters from what is know as the Bronze Age of comics (1970-1985) but the show has it's own take of the characters so it's not exactly the same. There are a lot of DC animated movies before this one. Most of them are excellent. They are not as connected as the New 52 movies but some do have some connection. One of the best is Batman: Mask of the Phantasm. It is a spin-off of Batman: The Animated Series TV show which was of the best animated shows. There are a couple of follow up movies too. But Batman: TAS itself led to them doing a Superman Animated series, then a Justice League Animated series , the a second Justice League series (Justice League Unlimited) and the another Batman series set in the future Batman Beyond, which later got it's own movie. Most of the lore is in the TV series and the movies just sit on top of that lore. But lore in the show is mostly it's own and not canon to the comics. This is know as the DCAU or Timmy-verse (for Bruce Timm who helped make many of these shows) Plus there are several standalone DC movies for a certain character or a classic story. IMHO some of the recent ones haven't been great but for most part DC animated movies are pretty awesome.

Also to explain a bit further when Batman (Bruce Wayne ) died and his parents lived his father became Batman and his mother went crazy and became the joker

The reverse flash hates the flash because the flash rejected him as a sidekick when the flash traveled to the future one time, that's pretty much it.

I very much recommend the DCAU (DC Animated Universe) over the DCAMU (DC Animated Movie Universe) as it's just so much better and visually much more interesting and unique. The DCAMU which starts with Flashpoint is heavily inspired by the New 52 which was created in 2011 as a Reboot to DC's main universe. Like the New 52 the DCAMU is very mix ranging from good like Flashpoint to meh so it's very up and down. While the DCAU is it's own thing having a very cool retro futuristic art direction and overall is just much better quality from Batman Animated Series to Superman, Batman Beyond, Static Shock, Justice League, and Justice League Unlimited to name a few. There's also Mask of the Phantasm and other films set in this universe that are amazing a well so it's overall just better quality and more unique visually and in tone. But the DCAMU does have good films in it, overall the quality is very up and down and you'll have a better time all together watching the DCAU. Also on the topic of the DCAU the voice actors of Batman and Superman for example voiced the actors in the DCAU shows while for the next film in the DCAMU it's a whole new cast of voice actors to showcase the Reboot of the universe that you'll get into with the next film. Pretty much the events of Flash in this film creates a whole new universe where the characters are meeting each other for the first time and have no memory of the past universe and history we see up until Flashpoint. Same with their appearance from face to outfits going for a more New 52 look while in Flashpoint the characters had their classic Pre Crisis outfits that most people see when they imagine characters like Superman, Batman etc. New 52 outfits are very different you like them or you don't so it depends on the person with Superman having a very big change.

Yeah, I think Aquaman is more powerful than you would think, at the bottom of the ocean it is 8 tons per square inch, so it makes him really strong and durable. He isn’t really as powerful as superman wonder women, or Shazam. But I feel like his combat experience and skill allows him to stay in fights with people stronger than him longer before he dies.

If you haven't seen Batman the Dark Knight, thats a must watch movie. Commonly thought of as the best Batman movie.

Such a sad and broken alternate timeline. 36:14 I would've never thought that I would hear that line from anyone. This movie was an absolute blast! If you wanna know more about the flash, I would highly recommend the show. The quality dips in later seasons, but the first few are gold. Sorry, I know you just started a new universe, but it’s one of my favorite shows and characters and it gives his story.

Much like the whole MCU that you went through, each DC hero has their own origin before coming to the Justice League (DC's version of Avengers), so you would have to find their own stories to get the background. Flash had an accident like Spiderman/Hulk/Fantastic 4, however it is shown to be a gift to folks, more like some other MCU versions of Spiderman, which ultimately connects him to a speed force, and the more the Flash knows how to work with it, the more OP he gets. Same with pretty much all of them.

Shazam is just kid He is multiple kids here because in this universe, everything is mixed up

Martha Wayne went crazy after Bruce’s death, becoming this universes Joker. In a couple comic runs (and in the 2022 movie) Martha is a descendent of the Arkhams, the family that built Arkham Asylum, so crazy kinda runs in her family.

DC can’t compete with Marvel live action, but Marvel can’t compete with DC animation. This is the first in the series and the whole series is phenomenal. This is one is my favorite however they are all great. They get darker and more mature as the series progresses. They are definitely not made for children. "Batman doesnt kill" is a massive lie. He does kill. ALOT. Its was the Nolan Trilogy that set up the "i have one rule...i dont kill." Batman has used guns, he has killed Superman many times (once using a Doomsday virus to hulk out and KILL Superman). Batman used to carry a Glock and would gun down the mobsters under Carmine Falcone. In his first meeting with Joker, Batman flat out kills him (later retconned because they realised Joker could be a great recurring villain).

In this timeline, Martha Wayne (Bruce's mom) goes insane after the death of her son and becomes her timeline's version of the Joker

Once they removed him from the building and got him into the sunlight, he gets his powers immediately, and they will grow over time. He also stores it like a battery, so he doesn't need the sun directly, so he's just as powerful at nighttime.

Ooo definitely watch all the DC animated movies. So much amazing content to enjoy right there. As for series, I recommend the “Justice League animated series” and it’s sequel “Justice League Unlimited”. Also recommend rewatching “Young Justice” after you have watched a lot of DC content. Definitely will recognize more and appreciate many references.

Nah man why would you even think about suggesting some of these shows lmao. Most of these shows are only entertaining to kids bro. Flash and arrow get a pass but even those got really bad in some of the later seasons.

Honestly if you want to watch all about the flash just watch first 2 seasons then stop arrow is also good but it’s honestly a waste of time to keep up on the some of the other shows are good but it’s waste of time

1. Constantine is also Arrowverse 2. Superman and Lois is not arrowverse. They are played by the same actors, but they are on different earth, confirmed by writer that its not part of the arrowverse. But show is amazing

Well... Basically. There are seven forces of the universe. Energy that created universe. Each one have their powers. Lanterns is a part of it. They are emotional apectrum. And there Speed Force - cosmic force thatpushes space and time. And it's source of Flash and other speedsters power.

I have this movie on DVD along with Batman: Under the Red Hood. My absolute favorite DC animated movies hands down.

I still want to see a part two of this movie… and see Martha Wayne Joker in action

Barry Allen’s Flash is the Goat. He makes a hell of a lot more mistakes than his successors but he is so powerful

They deleted a scene where Thawne told Barry about the time when Barry was making out with his first girlfriend

Justice League: War through Justice League Dark: Apolokips War is a great, self-contained story line (almost like Marvel Phase 1-3. Enjoy friends!

While Flashpoint Paradox is a great movie, it's not a great starting point. Probably the best thing would have been to start with Justice league unlimited, to get many of the justice league characters down. Young justice is also a good series to watch. There are several characters that you would not know unless you read the comics. So while it is a great movie, it isn't done justice unless you know all the characters and what their normal history is, so you can see the juxtaposition.

Justice League WAR is lit!!!

Recomend Suicide Squad: Hell to Pay and Justice League: Doom and the Harley Quinn show is relly good
