She is as vulnerable as finely spun glass and as strong as high carbon steel. Her art rips you apart and heals you at the same time. Who does that? Her art is almost too intense to bear, but you can't look away. She is a siren in the form of a wood nymph. Resistance is futile!

Your pronounciation of Aurora is perfect. It is exactly as in Norwegian. Much more, equally impressing songs. Start with her performances "Murder 54321" and "Runaway" from the Nobel peace prize concert 2015.

Not really, "au" in Norwegian is pronounced like a difthong from something like the German Ö vowel (also found in English words like girl, world and earth) leading to an English-style long "u" sound, like in "blue". Further, R is realized differently in different dialects in Norway, but where Aurora is from, it is realized like a typical French or German back-of-the-throat R. I speak this dialect myself.

Aurora is a self taught prodigy from Norway. She taught herself to sing, play piano and read music. Her voice pulls you into the storyline. She wrote her first song in Norwegian at 6 years old, in English at 9 years old. Because you have young daughters, I know you have heard her before, you just didn't know it was her. She sang in Frozen II, the voice calling to Elsa. She has dozens of original songs, some covering very deep subjects. But even when she does a cover she makes it her own.

I absolutely "LOVE" watching new people, who have never heard Aurora before, hear her.... And Oh My God......and "THIS" was your first song??????? Phew!!!!!! I felt 'every' thing you were going through. I still tear up "every" time I hear this song. And, I've been a Warrior and Weirdo going on two years now. The term Warriors and Weirdos refers to Aurora's Army, or simply her passionate fanbase. I haven't met anyone who wasn't immediately overwhelmed and mesmerized when first hearing Our Fairy Godess 'AURORA' !!!! As for me, I'm a 52 year old 80's Heavy Metal and 70's Hard Rock kinda guy, but since I found Aurora here on KZread about 2 years ago, I listen to her almost everyday! Thank you for sharing your first time reaction to this. As a person, like myself, who has grown up with music, everything from Mowtown, to 70's Pop Rock, Disco, Hard Rock, Heavy Metal, Thrash Metal, when I heard Aurora for the first time was a life-changing experience. I would say I hope you keep going down this path with more reactions with Aurora, but I'm almost certain you now have no choice! 😊 Aurora has you under Her Spell now. Welcome to The Tribe! My suggestion for your next song is "It Happened Quiet", two different venues, two different performances. One, from this Live in Nidarosdomen and also at The Current. You will find out, as you listen to Aurora more, she is very unique in every way possible. One of these ways is that she will have one song and this one song will be different every time she performs it. Sometimes drastically, and sometimes just a little. Every time you know it's the same song, but she performs it differently. I know this may not make sense at the moment, but, it will become crystal clear as your journey progresses.

Aurora is a singer, songwriter, composer and producer. She started with music at the age of 6 on a piano. The words then came with 9. Then she wrote "Lucky". The song is also sung here in the Niderosdomen by her. This is Aurora's anti depression/anti suicide song. Such a topic and that already at the age of 9. This shows that Aurora is unique and she is very aware of the world in which she lives. Absolute genius and above all a wonderful person. Welcome to the wonderful world of "Warriors and Weirdos" (AURORA's fans, that is). She is not only a great singer and talented artist. She has a unique personality as well, with a vivid imagination and clear views on the world around her and on the world as a whole. This time line shows how talented she is: Age 6: Started to follow dance lessons Age 6: Started to compose melodies Age 9: Started writing lyrics in her second language English Age 14: Her family discovered that she wrote her own songs Age 16: Recorded one song ("Puppet") as a gift to her parents Age 16: Performed a self written song ("I Had A Dream") at a school assembly Age 16: Gave up dancing (and her dream of becoming a professional dancer) to focus on singing Age 17: Released her first song "Awakening" Age 18: Released her first EP "Running With The Wolves" Age 19: Released her first full album "All My Demons Greeting Me As A Friend" Age 19/20/21: Performed hundreds of live shows during her world tour Age 22: Released her second EP "Infections Of A Different Kind (step 1)" Age 22 (just before her 23rd birthday): Released her second full album "A Different Kind Of Human (step 2)" Age 24: Her song "Runaway" (released in 2015) has gone viral on TikTok, hence turning Runaway into a world wide hit with over 1 million streams daily on Spotify and KZread Age 25 (today): She recently finished her third full album "The Gods We Can Touch", it will be released next week on January 21, 2022

You pronounced it correctly. Knowing that you have never heard Aurora before is fun because she is incredible. Consider redoing this song in the stripped version (no instruments), the best a cappella version of anything I've ever heard. She is best live. Try Lucky, from this same concert, and Murder Song, from this same concert She and Angelina Jordan are young Norwegians who are staggeringly talented and unique. Aurora has been around for about a decade, and she is slowly growing an audience because all people need is an exposure, and bang. Billie Eilish says she was inspired to begin singing for real upon first hearing Aurora. The best video I ever saw anywhere is Aurora's video The Seed. The whole production of that is huge, performance, video, arrangement, production. Even in small venues she does well. God is a Woman (cover) Teardrop (cover), and Churchyard (original) are done super well in tiny radio station venues, unlike the lesser performances you often hear in those places.

Nice reaction 👍 You pronounce her name quite right in Norwegian, and that’s where she’s from so…👍🥰 And welcome to Auroras queendom❤️ Aurora, a Norwegian singer/songwriter/dancer and music producer, was only 6 years old when she found an old electric piano in the attic. She’s now 25 years. She’s self taught when it comes to singing and playing piano. She wrote music without lyrics from the age of 6, and with lyrics from the age of 9😳 Nobody in her family knew about this talent of hers until Aurora was about 13 years old. She didn’t really want to be an artist, but her mom told her how Auroras music helped her, Aurora felt that she maybe could help some people. So she became an artist, and she really love her fans “Warriors and weirdos” She writes her own music, and I can recommend “Lucky” at Nidarosdomen She wrote it when she was 9 years old 🥰 “It Happened Quiet” live at CURRENT “Murder Song (5,4,3,2,1)” live at the Nobel Price concert 2015 These are some to begin with 😍 She also has more upbeat song, and one is “The Seed”, which every human should watch. I would definitely watch the official video, cause it’s amazing 😍🥰 I’ve loved her since 2014, and I come from the same place as her ❤️

Always and it doesn't matter which version I heard or how often I already listened to her songs. Haven't heard all of them but I pretty sure it will be the same for every song. I heard people say she is a siren, or our 5th element. I heard people saying: I hope that's what you hear when you leave and get to the heavens gate. To be honest I hope that as well. There are a lot of great singer and musicians who are talented and gifted but Aurora is something completely different, unexplainable.

Thank you for reacting to her, your pronounciation was slighty perfect or indeed similar to norwegian. She learned piano at 6, words came at 9, wrote some music at 9, she's currently 25, birthday at June, new album on the 21st. Aurora has been through alot and I'm very grateful for her amazing talentend music she provides for us, and we stan her right Warriors and Weirdos! Some meaning behind these awesome lyrics: "That song is about how I'd rather see the world through the eyes of a child because everything is a bit better." "I care a lot about people's inner child and I am very determined to never lose my inner child. I get why we need all these layers to survive. It is a very tough world [and] I think sometimes we forget that child, sometimes we lose it and I think that's a bad thing." "'Through the Eyes of a Child' is one of the most important songs for me. It's about, the older you get, the more you see, and it's kind of like you miss the times when you thought everyone was nice, and that everything was nice, because it's hard to know all the darkness. Also we have lots of light, and I know that as well. But it's kind of like wanting to go back to the innocence, and see the world through the eyes of a child. It's a very important song for me." Hopefully you can react to more of her songs! Like : Runaway (Nobel Peace Prize Concert), it happened quiet ( Live at the current), Murder song (5,4,3,2,1) (Nobel Peace Prize Concert), Lucky (Nidarosdomen), Queendom (Music video), Inffections of a different kind (Live at HAIK concert), I went too far (Live at Honda), Conqueror (Live at Honda),Warrior (HAIK concert), Running with the wolves (Music video), Giving into the love (Music video), Heathens (VEVO), Everything matters (On her channel) and A dangerous thing (Also on her channel)! Hello Samantha! I'm so happy that you're reacting to both of my favorite singers now, 1)Angelina Jordan and 2)Aurora Aksnes. And yes, this is her original. Aurora is Norwegian, and writes, composes, arranges and produces all of her own music. She started writing songs at the age of 9, the song "Lucky" and has INCREDIBLE lyrics. Lyrics that will make you think and interpret. Aurora never forces an interpretation on you through her lyrics, she always leave them open. So people from every walk of life can identify and find their own meaning. That is true genius. Aurora was 19 on this concert here in Norway, but she looks a bit younger. She is 25 now, and her new album will drop in 5 days. The song that made her internationally known, is her song "Runaway" and it has been trending on social platforms, like TikTok. The music is beautiful, and so is the music video. The video was actually shot more or less in her back yard, and shows you BEAUTIFUL, Norwegian nature. I'll leave the link for that one here, as well as 9 others of my favorites by her. Runaway : kzread.info/dash/bejne/lpN8zrKbn6-4fJs.html And 9 more : 1)" Murder Song (5,4,3,2,1)" Live at the 2015 Nobel Peace Prize Concert : kzread.info/dash/bejne/qJxktbmNhtq-qNo.html 2) "Lucky" from the same concert in Nidarosdomen (Aurora wrote this song at age 9 ) : kzread.info/dash/bejne/qJxktbmNhtq-qNo.html 3) "Running With The Wolves" : kzread.info/dash/bejne/qJxktbmNhtq-qNo.html 4)"The Seed" : kzread.info/dash/bejne/kYGXwbGGZdK0cZs.html 5)"All Is Soft inside" Live at KEXP in Iceland : kzread.info/dash/bejne/e4dmy7icd93Ff84.html 6)"Churchyard" Also live at KEXP : kzread.info/dash/bejne/oH6A16lxk5SXd84.html 7)"Exist For Love" : kzread.info/dash/bejne/aY14zdSDkcypoto.html 8)"Cure For Me" : kzread.info/dash/bejne/fWVrxshxYbWyabw.html 9)"Heathens" : kzread.info/dash/bejne/p6h_tJmtcdCWmMo.html This should give you quite a bit to start with, but it is just the tip of the iceberg. As you will see rather quickly, there is no artist like Aurora when it comes to mannerism and how she emotes her songs. She is often described as hypnotic, and for me personally, that's the best way to describe her. Although I have Angelina on first place on my list, due to her insanely beautiful vocals and tonality, Aurora is right up there with her, but she has a very different voice. Her voice is most commonly described as angelic, and I agree. Aurora has also made quite a few VERY beautiful covers, please do let me know if you would like to have a list to those as well. Even more love and respect than last time from your Norwegian friend. Take care and stay safe ! Btw, I was shocked to hear that you are not English. To my Norwegian ears, you have perfect intonation. You must have at least ONE English parent I think ? :-)

I love the joy of your reaction, especially the reaction that most of us had the first time we heard Aurora, which is “wait, what? I must hear more!!”. She is 25 (21 at the time of this recording). I think your pronunciation is absolutely perfect. In her native Norway, they pronounce it “ow-roor-ah” with rolled “r”s. I don’t like our English pronunciation of “uh-roar-ah” which flattens out those lovely vowels. That is her songwriting, written very young. She is nearly savant in her lyrical and musical abilities. One of the things that struck me when I started to listen to her music is that she is pretty close to this generation’s Bob Dylan, Leonard Cohen or Joni Mitchell in her abilities to write poetry and craft tunes. Plus, she is one of the nicest people you will find. Enjoy your Aurora journey!

Watch the Aurora song "Lucky" from the same concert. she wrote both songs "Through the Eyes of a Child" and "Lucky". Watch Aurora's entire Nidarosdomen concert. Of the 12 songs only 3 are covers. It's pristine and perfect. Watch Aurora's full 2015 Nobel Peace Prize concert (3 songs- 2 are originals). Watch Aurora's concert at KEXP Iceland. All original songs. She is amazing!

Next murder song 54321 but only do the live version at the Nobel Peace concert. You will want to always check out her live performances for the most part. There's a life concert she did in the forest of Norway where she used to grow up and play as a little girl. You might want to check that one too. She's an amazing and special human. Thank you so much... your reaction was wonderful to witness. Great love and light to you in your journey to discover Not just Aurora's music but also her message and the quirkiest, cutest personality ever!

The answer to your question, "Who is she?", is , she is Aurora, a mesmerizing artist, song writer and possessor of peerless performance skills, who will take you on a magical, creative musical journey. Go back to the Nobel Peace prize Concert of 2015, for "Runaway" written by Aurora when she was 11 (This Nidarosdomen performance was 2017),.Then forward to the HAIK concert of 2019 (filmed in the forest where Aurora played in her childhood) for "Daydreamer" to see a smiling, dancing Aurora.

Have to agree with Jos Koegeler, "Murder Song 54321" from the Nobel Peace Prize Concert is another shockingly mind-blowing delivery from Aurora. "Runaway" is also outstanding, but I prefer her official video release set outdoors in Norway, which has about 350 million views. Aurora is touring the UK in April, have booked to see her, recommend that as a worthwhile life experience for anyone of any age who loves the best in music and performance. Great reaction Lisa - I feel the same whenever I listen to her - and it doesn't wear off!

I guess others already said many things about Aurora. For sure i will watch more reactions for her songs:).

This young lady is truly special, one of a kind. You found a great one. Best musical journey I've taken in quite some time. She's fantastic. This whole concert at Nidarosdomen is one of the best I've ever seen. Here are a few suggestions. One of her new songs is "Heathens" and do the live performance (there's only one) Then you can do "Warrior" live at Haik. Then you can do "Winter Bird", "Soft universe" and her cover of David Bowie's "Life on Mars" all live at Nidarosdomen. And yes, this is her song. She is a fabulous song writer and performer. She's like Mother nature and a wood fairy all wrapped in one. She's 25 years old and from Norway.

Dear Samantha Thank you for your lovely reaction on this wonderful song, sung by this amazing young and talented artist. It was like listening to an angel singing from the heavens. Thanks for bringing awareness on such marvelous artist who express herself with beautiful lyrism and artistry. Listening and viewing her performance was like an ethereal and spiritual experience. It is so comforting to be able to witness such awe-inspiring human beings, as it reminds us that despite all the darkness that often prevail in this world, there is "beauty" that is worth living for, and for which we should be all grateful as it can incite us to do our part to make this world a better place. Thank you again Samantha. 🥰

She has the power to touch you in ways you never knew where there. This whole X-mas concert is chilling, from the first until the last song. It was in Nidarosdomen, the Cathedral of Trondheim, Norway, produced by norsk television. One of her very most beautiful songs is: 'it happened quiet', live at The Current. You did a very good reaction, by opening up to her music and let it take you over. I subscribed.

From what I’ve read, as a little girl in Norway she spent a lot of time alone in the forest with the animals day and night. Was always special and was terrified of performing at first but wanted to share her thoughts. She’s the world’s fairy angel. She dedicated her song Heathens to at Rough Trade East, London to “ . . . the Mother who takes care of the people who aren’t welcome in heaven.”
