Aurora is so unassuming. She's said many times she doesn't really get embarrassed, because she doesn't really care what people think about her. In some of her shows where she didn't have a lot of rehearsals, she's forgotten lyrics, and she just asks the audience for help like it's no big deal. Zero embarrassment. Normally, people who don't care what others think about them are complete jerks, but she's one of the sweetest, most caring people around. I'm over 60, and I've literally never seen anyone like her.

she totally mastered the art of not giving a fvck haha, and i agree she doesn't use that skill and makes herself look like an asshole because she doesn't go "i can insult anyone because i don't care about their feelings" she's more of a "i don't care if i made a mistake and embarrass myself im a human after all, just like everyone else"

I love how engaged she is when she is having a conversation with a stranger. She is talking to you like you're an old friend of her. She has no filter, she is an open book. As you said, she brings you into her chaotic thought process. I've always been a bit strange and I had to filter myself in order to assimilate myself in different social contexts and be included. I find it refreshing that she has such a strong personality that she is flipping it the other way : she is forcing people to adapt themselves to who she is. Not in a bad way because she is acting very lovely and friendly and she is amused when you look uncomfortable. She is amused in a nice way, not in a bad way. She's the perfect match for an introvert person who needs a caring friend who will allow him or her to be themselves shamelessly and learn how to disregard people's judgement.

I'm autistic and this interview reminded me of so many interactions I've had throughout my life. People ask me questions and I answer honestly, and it seems like often they aren't prepared for the type of answer I give and it gets awkward. Or else I'm suddenly aware of a shift in their tone or body language and now I'm not sure if they're being genuine or making fun of me... It has long been presumed that autistic people just don't communicate well, but the reality is that we tend to communicate in ways that most people don't expect, and they don't know how to react. I love seeing Aurora's thought process flow through this conversation. The details she includes in her stories paint a picture for all the senses, and she shares seemingly mundane things about her life that make you feel like you already know her.

I’m quite sure she’s autistic. I am also so I can pick the traits. Especially when I’ve seen her talk about childhood. She was extremely sensitive to what was happening around her when she was a child and preferred to stay home. Interesting watching how these men are reacting to her as if it’s so unusual but not necessarily in the autistic world. Of course she has a really high IQ.

Some things are simply not subjects that people want to talk about or care to listen, as it is on a more intimate level. She's not honest. She is a performer, painting a picture of herself. It's not real. She poses as she doesn't care what people think of her - the opposite is true. Just look at the way she dresses. She desperately want to be viewed as special and weird, to make up for her feeling of insignificance and helplessness. Maybe now she is confident in that and maybe she even believes it. But it's still just a play.

@@rowaystarco I get that she's not an actress, the persona is not deliberate, it is just revealing. I don't need to know more about her, all the people who are stylizing themselves to look extravagant have this feature in common. I know, because I was one of them. A lot of my friends back then were like that. All of us were hurt, confused kids looking for approval we didn't get at home growing up. We needed to embrace our weirdness and try to own it - when we just had to realize we are not that weird. There is no reason for her to act and look like this other than grab your attention. And it works, she has her charm - but that is probably because she is attractive, and I'm a man, and I learned that such feels should not interfere with any asessment about the person in question, so she gains no points for that. Imagine she would look like an old hag, wearing something very ordinary. You wouldn't even stick around to hear her introduce herself. Plus: I don't believe her in the slightest that she is not watching herself sing. Just look at her. This person is obsessed with how she looks like. And what other people think about her. She posture all the time that she is the opposite of that. It is simply a lie to make you like her. She HAS to listen to it, and to watch it, to analyze, learn, prepare the next piece. She would be incredibly unwise if she didn't watch and listen to her own stuff. It just has to be a lie. Think about how easily it came to her to lie about it. I bet you didn't even notice. It's the same with any other celebrity - when cameras are running, they're working on their brand.

I'm almost convinced too - that or at least neurodivergent in some way, like maybe ADHD (ADHD here) because yeah she DOES exhibit so many neurodivergent traits of either or both. Whether it's Autism or ADHD or both, she has a lot of the same traits as us and she seems to ping a LOT of Autistics "Au-dar" (as one Autistic commenter put it) I really believe that either way, the reason she exhibits SO MUCH confidence about herself despite always being labelled weird/quirky/eccentric is because she wasn't discouraged and rejected by her family and most of her peers in her community growing up, so she never acquired the trauma that often comes with being neurodivergent, and never really learned to mask her traits much, if at all. She comes across as a non-traumatised neurodivergent and that explains a big part of her confidence and a big part of her lack of embarrassment about her "oddities". if we weren't traumatised due to neurotypicals treating us horribly because of our neurodivergence, way more of us would be like this too and have the confidence she has. This is the power of what true acceptance can do for a neurodivergent growing up, and it's a beautiful thing to witness how it shaped her as a person ❤️

Omg this is so exciting to watch because she's definitely unique, in the way she communicates and her personality overall! It's clear the interviewers weren't ready for her haha. She's very nice and sweet but I can see why someone who's maybe more closed off can feel uncomfortable in her presence if they're not used to her because she genuinely wants to form a connection to her interlocutors, she's always honest and open, and has a subtle sense of humour.

I didn't know anything about her but I assumed that she is from North Europe somewhere. Not just because her looks but I think her way of reading other people is something I see a lot of nordic people do. Norwegian, Swedish and Finnish have all sort of straight forward way of talking and body language + tone of voice play big role in conversations, I think. I really like her, it would be lovely to listen her more!

Your analysis caught my eye because I am struggling to understand why her music causes such a strong emotional reaction in myself. I find her fascinating to watch whether an interview or a performance. I find myself teary and flooded with emotion and a general sense of well being. As a biologist I ask myself what would cause this reaction? The release of oxytocin can cause these feelings, produced in the hypothalamus and secreted by the pituitary, involved in forming bonds, romantic, maternal and apparently paternal. She is somehow accessing this system. We all do this on some level but she seems to have perfected the process. Still trying to figure it out any insight you might have would be interesting to me.

Thank you for sharing. My sense is because it doesn't seem like she has any walls up or pre-tenses -- she doesn't seem to be calculated in any way. The way she reacts, thinks and articulates seems to be from a place of true authenticity. I think when people really show us who they are -- no masks and no walls -- it allows us to actually feel connected with them. I think it triggers something deep in us, something deeply human, relatable and real. I don't have a scientific answer, but I think that her openness (and your ability to almost 'feel' who she is because of that) is why you're being flooded with emotion.

My ultra-cheap analysis is that we all perceive a very young girl, with childish traits and also childish spontaneity, without reservations and defenses... like listen to your little nephew's free associations of ideas. So we are inclined towards her with an attitude of total expectation of what we can still expect from the next wise/strange/awkward declaration. We do not place any defense or filter between us and her, so we are totally exposed to her utterances, which she offers us with charm and calmness. The result is that we are instantly caught up in the imprinting of this free Nordic being. Sorry for my english :D

I had a hard time guessing her age at first because in other interviews she almost has a child like innocence in the way her facial expressions are so exaggerated, and inflection in her voice, but the more I saw of her, and in various situations, I saw how creative she was, and ignores the supposed social norms of what general conversations usually patterned after. I love she is into forest mythology and can relate to her on many levels there. When the Aussies said yowies, they are Forest and bush beings in Australia that are basically like our bigfoot in the US, and that's why she leaned forward, she probably already knows this, and more about it than these guys interviewing her, that red coat guy came across like a weirdo trying to make her look uncool, and she is anything but.

She thinks the same way as me, so her conversations are very easy for me to follow and it’s one of the reasons I love her so much. But it is clear in many of her interviews that the interviewers are uncomfortable - you can see just in the way they are sitting compared to her that Aurora is comfortable and they aren’t. Which is a little sad because she would be one of the most lovely people to talk to, and definitely doesn’t mean to make people uncomfortable, she’s just being herself 🥰🧡

Yes, this is one of her more playful interviews. I don't think the guys meant to be disrespectful, just totally thrown by her straight forward unconventional comments. She can be very deep, spiritual and insightful (way beyond her years) with the right interviewers who are more interested in her lyrics and her passions such as mental health, the environment and LGBTQ rights. I would definitely love to see you react to more of her interviews. There is a wonderful one (in Norwegian with English subtitles) from a TV show where you see more facets of her amazing personality. I believe you can find it under the title - Aurora on her bipolar sister and why we all should be excused | English subtitles | SVT/TV 2/Skavlan

Aurora is highly intelligent and, as one say, a true emphat. She feels exactly what is going on and everything you have said about blue jeans, she has perceived it that way. She also felt that blue jeans don't take her seriously and tries to make fun at her expense to distract from his own discomfort. From that point on, she stuck to the truth, as she always does, but trolled him. The leaning forward at the end is the highlight of it. She, who likes to keep people at a physical distance, leans forward. She exhausts the fact that he becomes more and more insecure. He didn't take her seriously and that was the receipt. She also didn't like the fact that he interrupted her at the beginning, when it was about sexual stuff. She is a person who likes to talk freely and enlightening about it and finds it unhealthy to make taboos. The most natural in the world. These two here she smokes in the pipe. There are interviews on youtube, podcasts with her where you can really see how profound, intelligent, speaking at a high level she really is. On issues that are close to her heart, such as nature, sexuality in all forms, equality. Sry not my main language

Aurora is a very honest and earnest person. She reminds me a lot of myself and how I speak and connect with others. I have a few different techniques I use when people get uncomfortable with me being myself. Humor is the fastest and easiest but if that fails I try to invite them to be honest and connect with me more deeply by communicating that I will not judge them or push them away. I think she was doing this towards the end. She often talks about how important it is to her to be yourself no matter what and allow others to do the same.

This is an example of Aurora being comfortable with the interviewers as she had met them a couple of years ago during her first performance. I believe they have a very genuine fascination with Aurora, not only with her musical talent but as an artist that does not prescribe to typical notions of fame and stardom. They don't need to worry about bruised egos and she intentionally challenges them to defy convention. While this is Aurora in a playful light, she offers much more substance on serious issues such as climate change, gender/sexual rights, conversion therapy, and generally defending the defenseless. I have watched several interviews (here on YT) where she is extremely articulate (with English being a secondary language), knowledgeable and often speaking out on injustices; but always with the grace, respect and empathy to be a force for positive change. I think these interviews are worth your time.

It didn't seem like he meant harm to her and it may just be his personality/sense of humor in how he acted, which wasn't offensive, just weird and awkward. that's a great comment! i have ADHD as well and I put so much energy into saying the right things and not appearing weird (and I've only realized it last year), so, masking in general and i feel like it tires me to the point where i can't really be creative because I'm just too tired. I think that Aurora is a great example of someone raised in a really tolerant and understanding environment and she didn't and still doesn't have to mask and it results in her being just an amazingly weird (in a good way) person. And I find it so inspiring and I'm a bit jealous that she feels so free to behave however she wants. And I definitely feel more inspired to stop being so hard on myself an just let it go!!

“A person like this, I feel like they have a strong, dedicated following,” of course she does, I saw her face on a thumbnail, clicked on it, liked the video and subscribed to the channel.

9:16 Yes. Also, my friend and me think she just sprinkles her impulsive/intrusive thoughts around like fairy dust, and she makes it acceptable because she is an adorable person who presents her TMI thoughts in an equally adorable way. We love her and I love her courage to be so authentic ❄️🧚🏼‍♀️

She is her own person. Watching her perform a piece of music visually and verbally is refreshing. I don't recall someone being as captivating and genuinely connected to every movement, sound, and emotion.

From videos i have seen of her talking to her fans, its incredible to watch. I saw one video where she was holding hands with a fan and staring into their eyes and nodding while they talked without breaking eye contact. She listens to every word and thinks about it very deeply.

It is so validating to hear that there are great qualities about her communication style. I've definitely received some similar reactions from a similar type of person, usually male, and it's hard not to feel like the fault lies within me in those situations. I like that she's able to sit with--and possibly play with--their puzzled reactions. I like that we can't really tell for sure. Mischief and playfulness and curiosity are beautiful traits to possess.

Stumbled upon this video of yours and wow I think she's my soul sister? This sounds like me in a typical conversation, I often weird people out with my enthusiasm. Quite refreshing seeing another person confidently being themselves. Thanks for the video!
