Not him though! He is from the East side with Biggie you would never ever ever be caught listening to Tupac or any artist from the West side! It’s just how it was back then!
The line he kinda breaks down on “I can see my mamma coming home after work late, in the kitchen tryna fix us a hot plate” used to get me too.
Tupac Shakur was born in East Harlem and originally went by the name of MC New York. After spending his early childhood years in Harlem, Pac’s mother, Afeni Shakur, packed the family up and moved to Baltimore, Maryland. It was here in Baltimore where Pac started getting heavily involved in the arts; he attended the Baltimore School for the Arts where he studied acting, poetry, jazz, and ballet. A few years later, the Shakur family would move again, this time to Marin City, California in the San Francisco Bay Area. Pac was a son of 2 black panther's
Watching someone’s journey of discovering Tupac is a hell of a ride. I appreciate you, Mr.Boyd!!!!
Alot of people dont hear it, but Pac is a TRUE GEMINI he always write about both side of the story the good the bad and the inbetween its just one of the reason why we love and miss him so much no one compares
The mother of all mom songs from the heart of the greatest of all time to the Lioness that birthed him. Rest in power Pac and mama Afeni Shakur.
His dad is not dead Afini lied to him. His dad did an interview and was hurt when he heard the song. They had somewhat of a relationship by the time Tupac passed
Someone make Llboyd listen to Oldschool already he from NY it's the perfect track for him

Absolutely! The greatest ever made
First off Tupac is from the East coast! He got embraced by California and reped the West side but his background is important to understanding the whole. "Unconditional love" has gotta be the next reaction. It follows this song beautifully. I love watching your Tupac journey. BTW, know pac & big were close friends. I think their friendship should be recognized as much as their beef & tragic endings. I'd like to see some reactions to Tupacs interviews. Especially the early ones. & the one where here mentions Trump... it should be played through every speaker at every protest for economic, racial, & social justice!

depends on how you see it, Im westcoast his mom is black panther from Oakland we claim him here as well and yes he was born in NY. But lets be real he belong to everyone who love his music and much much more he is about. Reason why in california we teach him in college.

Didn't he move when he was 8, and went to school in California? Seems pretty cheap to say that really makes him East Coast.
My mother died when I was 11 years old, my father was a heroin addict, he shared needles with his brothers who were hooked too, and one of them had HIV, passed it on to my mother after I was born. He wasn’t in my life, this song came out a few months after she passed away, 2 weeks after she passed I found out my father died 2 years prior. This song got me through their deaths. I didn’t accept my moms passing till I was 19 years old. Tupac died when I was 13. Also Tupac thought his father died but he is alive, the art of dialogue has his interview, Billie garland. I never fell into the east coast west coast beef nonsense, and Tupac was from New York, but was also raised in other places so.
i grew up with a crack addicted mother and i went to meetings with her as a kid all thru her recovery, made me respect her and love her even more she has been clean and sober now for 35 years and she went back to college and got her masters degree she now is a certified drug addiction counselor for the state of oregon i love this song its very sureal for me i experienced damn near every thing in this song jail cell and all 2pac really had a strong spriritual message for some of us.
Tupac and biggie were friends back in the day. I believe Tupac is from New york
They play this song every mother's day and all throughout the years
YOU NEED TO DO "BRENDA'S GOT A BABY" THATS EARLY 2PAC. HE STILL HAD THE SAME EMOTIONAL DEPTH AND STORY TELLING POETRY.
Its surreal watching someone discover Dear Mama, but I swear you heard it somewhere before. I appreciate you Mr Boyd.

Shout out to yo bro, love from South Africa...you got me by surprise here and it's my first time to actually hear how intense the hate was between eastcoast and westcoast..But here in Africa we have had the pleasure to follow both sides and listened to both Pac and Biggie and all the hot rappers from all of the STATES and its been amazing from the 90's till now we still stuck up in the 90's rap and even the RnB...Was Lit...and for the record i'm a diehard fan of Tupac, love Nas and got respect for The Notorious B.I.G... WE LOST some real ones... 🕊
Their is a song for his father. Its from the album Strictly 4 My N.I.G.G.A.Z... and the song is called "Papa'z Song"

That dude is a clown. Only creeped back to Pac’s life when he was famous. He ran away from his responsibility. It’s irrelevant what Afeni said earlier on, he should have made an effort to know and raise his son.

So at the time of this he thought his father was dead but turned out he wasn't. This is a quote from 1996 in Vibe "I thought my father was dead all my life. After I got shot, I looked up, there was this nigga that looked just like me. And he was my father; that’s when I found out. We still didn’t take no blood test, but the nigga looked just like me and the other nigga’s dead. So now I feel that I’m past the father stage. I do want to know him, and I do know him. We did talk and he did visit and help me when I was locked down, but I’m past that.”
Wish you would have done the music video that way you hear the studio version also you know this is no curse words many people oblivious to this because he's so well-known for his gangster rap
Born in 85 on the West Coast, Didn't listen to East Coast rap for decades.
He was known as MC New York when he was living there.
I don’t regularly hear music from my childhood anymore. But 2Pac is still one of my favorite rappers. ❤ There is something about the musicality of his delivery that no one else has. (Can’t really explain it, since I’m missing the right terminology…I‘m no rapper and german)😅 But It’s still sad that he didn’t get the chance to make more music. 😢
The live version is cool but should have done the actual recorded song.

Yeah, I was a bit saddened knowing he didn’t get to hear the last verse.
He was buzzed during this performance.
Tu Pac is my favorite rapper. Eminem #2 or 3.
So much respect to you Mr Boyd. I'm a 2pac fan 100% and understand your bias and I myself have been delving into Biggie's music because I feel the need to appreciate it all. Thank you for doing this.
My pops abandoned my moms my brother my sister and myself in his Italian grandmothers garage and told my moms he was going to go look for work and never came back. I was 3 years old. His grandmother had a friend at the Public Housing Authority of Los Angeles and got us a 1 bedroom apartment and we all grew up there. My pops died at the age of 53 and my moms and my brother and sister drove to Texas for his funeral and burial and they called me heartless for not going with them. Just like PAC said I told my older brother and my moms I’m not a hypocrite and I didn’t know him like they did cuz I was the youngest so sorry I don’t feel sad or happy that he passed and I am a father of 3 kids I told my brother and I can’t leave them for 1 day and I would never abandon them. So they left and I got hate calls from my pops side of the family and I just hung up on those muthufuckas.
He even had the music video for this song recorded/produced while he was locked up. Its the reason he isn't in it, but it does feature his mom. As good as this performance was, he even messed up a verse.
2pac wasn't saying he had no love for his dad because he died. he was saying he had no love for him because he wasn't there ( he was an absent father), therefore, when he died he didn't shed a tear. because why would you cry for a man who wasn't there to raise you.
He was dead to him when he wasn’t there for him he cried as a child and needed a father
Talking about the west coast and finally listening to its music now. I'd like to see you react to some bay area artists. A lot of talent out here.

PAC is east coast brother ! Unconditional love !
Your narration about the time he's growing up & men didn't stay around makes me want you to react to *(Keep Your Head Up)*
In actuality : Tupac‘s father was alive, Billy Garland. This was sadly a lie that his mother told him and he found out once he got shot the first time. When his father was finally able to find him and reconnect with his son. 2pac before he died, was starting to develop a great relationship with his father, and even wrote him letters and met his half siblings
the best of all time allllll time period
He’s father didn’t die. He wasn’t in his life until he got shot in New York
Don't even trip, I was born in 86 too but I'm from the bay area and we feel the same way. I never listened to anything from the east coast. Hated all of it. But it's all love now. Check more of it out, great reaction
This makes this old white lady fall in love with 2pac! 💜👵🏼✌🏼
2Pac's biological father is still alive in 2023, Billy Garland
LOVE LOVE LOVE to my eternal BROTHER
Yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!You finally got it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Bro you already listen this song on your major yt channel so it's not the first time you hear this, don't lie 🙃
That is sadly what the government wanted, divisions amongst blacks same as here in 🇿🇦but we have to pass that now
Once you’re honest about your biases you can work to get away from it. Stay honest
*#Tupac** father actually didn't die the guy his mother said with his father passed his stepfather who he's named after has been locked up for 30 some-odd years was recently released his actual biological father died in 99*
2Pac has a song called Papaz Song. Mrlboyd should hear it even if you don't react to it
Awesome video.
Right we been waiting for him to do oldschool
If you hear dear Moma for the first time 10 days ago where you been
Tupac real father is still alive it was his stepfather that passed away
Afeni Shakur was a Black Panther. ‘Pac was raised as a Panther.
You truly are a 🔳🐻. Please don’t hate, congratulate. Watch the DEAR MAMA DOCUMENTARY
Tupac is my number one all time rapper, no apologies
WRONG VERSION DUDE!! ALBUM VERSION PLEASE. THIS IS A MUST!!!
Music videos better because it starts with a narration from his mother who is locked up when she was pregnant & released just in time to give birth to Tupac

When will America grow up. I think we on the outside are getting the best out of Pac. Yall so clouded by blind loyalty you'll never see things as they are. Wish people from NY and Cali were born and grew up outside so they could truly appreciate Pac for what he meant for the culture. Yall never truly got to understand what being loyal meant, Yall so hung up on street life, life went past Yall and Yall ain't realized yet
He has one for the father it's called papa song
He was not saying he was mad because he died, he was angry because he wasnt present, then he died n Pac was numb to his death- is what he was saying, but he ddnt know @ the time he wrote this song that Afeni had lied to him about his Father.
I still don’t get how at his age did he not never hear this song
Yup as was requested listen to OLD SCHOOL from 2pac and THUG STYLE, especially Thug Style He explains he's from the East Coast but moved to the West as a teen. That's where he got his game. But his swag is still New York raised
definitely should do his interviews bro.
Yoyoyo, please do OLD SCHOOL, perfect track for u man
East koast west koast 2pac biggie 4 life keep doin wat yall do
Pacs step dad Mutulu shakur was a black panther and was the man who raised him but was sentenced to life in prison when he was young. His biological father billy Garland wasnt present. But they later formed a relationship after he was shot in Ny
Gotta do changes and also life goes on by pac. 🔥
PACs father didn’t pass away but from the presence and what one of his family members told him it felt like he died, I think that what he meant
This is two verses of the song, you should react to whole one
There’s two different 2pacs. There’s pre-death row pac which is where this song comes from and Death row 2pac, where Hitem up comes from
Bro idc what dialect u put on for these songs but I’m 32 and u look old as me and I’m certain u my age and know this song . I believe y were born in this time no matter the time but u can appreciate this song like we all can to this day
The war was hyped and i chose sides I didn't even listen to East coast stuff until after biggie died. Then the 2000s happened and with the emergence of the south and then everyone listened to everyone.
👑MOMMA AFENI ❤ PAC
The music is what it’s about. Lyric and all. But it’s not always about being clever with the lyrics then the next rapper. It’s about the message and how you deliver it. I was born in 1980 and was in high school during the west/east coast beef. But that never tarnish my love for hip hop. We still bought biggie, wu-tang, nas, big L, big pun, etc. albums. Can’t forget the old guys like big daddy Kane, rakim, epmd, etc. I’m just saying you have to fully remove your bias glasses fully off because you still look like you struggling with it. But I enjoy your content.
Smile with Tupac and Scarface
He was born in raised on the east just so u know
