I met his mother at a Rap event years after he died and his mother attended and was crying because he wasn't there to participate. I'm pretty sure she cried over his death often... Your mother's tears are not far off. 😊

What makes PACs moms story incredible was the fact she represented herself with no lawyer and won her case! The intelligence and courage you have to have to represent yourself in court at that time speaks volumes of her character and fighting spirit.

You’re correct , Tupac was in prison when this album came out . This album was #1 at the time of his incarceration . Fun fact , Tupac’s mom was in prison while pregnant with PAC representing her self and the Black Panthers against the Federal Government which she actually won before giving birth to Tupac .

I went to this amazing Tupac exhibit in Los Angeles called “Wake Me When I’m Free” that featured an incredible collection of anything you can imagine from his and his mother’s estate. One of my favorites was a note from his mother that read: “Tupac - Please find meaning in the greatness of cleaning and responsibility etc. This room is a sty. I will not accept it. -AF”

You should watch tupacs interview with MTV where he talks about his father, because he is actually alive and never was dead. His mother lied to him and he was actually mad at her for a while because of that. And him and his father are twins!!

Your mom is a sensitive person. Perhaps give her more time to absorb the music. She seems to have the mind and sensitivities to understand what the lyrics attempt to convey. Yeah, he was in jail when this video was created, that's why this video is just showing old video clips of him. Tupac was actually innocent of the charges against him when you dive into why he was in jail. Basically the same guys who were behind the first shooting were the ones responsible for the allegations against him.

He was not dead when this came out but he was locked up. This was early 95, and he spent 10mths in prison but release in October of that same year. He was assassinated 11mths after that 9/6/96. This song was on his "Me Against the World" album, which was released in '95, as mentioned by others, during his 9-10 month incarceration. He signed with Death Row records upon release in October and immediately began working on his "All Eyez On Me" album, releasing the "California Love" single in December of that year, with that album releasing February of '96. He was then shot Sept 7th, 1996, dying on the 13th, with his "Makaveli" album being released posthumously 2 months later, being the last album he worked on actively, and completed, while alive. So there's a year and a half difference, including him being on 2 different record labels, and nearly 3 albums spanned, between this song coming out and his death
