A little about me and this channel:
My name is James Aubrey IV and I just recently graduated college from Iowa State University. After college I decided to take a leap of faith. So I moved to San Diego California to pursue my passion for videography/ KZread. Overall I'm a pretty chill person, outside of KZread I like to longboard, dance, play video games, lift weights and hangout with my friends. I know that success on KZread won't happen overnight but I'm willing to stay patient and put in the work to try to prefect my craft daily. This KZread channel will be centered around my life after college. You will be able to see all of the ups and downs on my journey to success. What is the Rome Life ? And What does it mean to be apart of it?
Rome Life is something I started during my Sophomore year of high school (one of the worst times in my life) it started off as me documenting my journey to recovery from my shoulder surgery but eventually it turned into a platform that I could use to encourage myself as well as others to chase our dreams.
Rome Life isn't just a saying it's a way of life and for the people who want to be apart of it have to realize that. Rome wasn't built in a day it took a lot of handwork time and most importantly patience. So you can't expect your dreams to be any different

You really need to watch the movie Boomerang. One of the funniest and best RomComs I have ever seen, with one of the best soundtracks ever written, in my opinion. Toni sang Love Should have Brought You Home Last Night.

Make no mistake, Toni is a great singer w/a solid catalog of songs (check out "Love Shoulda Brought You Home" from the Boomerang soundtrack), but phew what an absolute dime piece. Mercy.
This generation doesn't no there black music history. There is a reason these artists were big names back in the day and still is. And not because of a reality TV show.
I had a bikini exactly like that back in 1997. This song was popular in '96. I didn't realize it was the same bikini until after I had already worn it and saw the video again. I didn't mind though.
She definitely has the voice for big ballad songs, but check out her more upbeat tunes like You're Making Me High and He Wasn't Man Enough for Me.

Not a huge fan, but this and Making Me High are in my rotation 20 years later. Great voice and easy on the eyes.

I just caught myself laughing thinking back to when this song came out.. boy were the tongues wagging (and not in a good way) about how scandalous and inappropriate her dress was.. all I keep thinking is that dress would be considered tame today and the ones that were being negative about it back then must really think that women today are practically naked with the clothes they wear lol. not only did the dress get bad press but her in her underwear and the bikini also got negative press. I actually have never seen anything wrong with anything she wore in this video.

Yes, that was funny. 🙂 This song is better without the video, in my opinion. I would love to hear her sing a bit more... unplugged. She has a impressive voice but this version is a bit... Whitney-esque. Which is a compliment of a sort but I would love to hear her sing it without the vocal.... gymnastics.
