My name is James Aubrey IV and I just recently graduated college from Iowa State University. After college I decided to take a leap of faith. So I moved to San Diego California to pursue my passion for videography/ KZread. Overall I'm a pretty chill person, outside of KZread I like to longboard, dance, play video games, lift weights and hangout with my friends. I know that success on KZread won't happen overnight but I'm willing to stay patient and put in the work to try to prefect my craft daily. What is the Rome Life ? And What does it mean to be apart of it?
Rome Life is something I started during my Sophomore year of high school (one of the worst times in my life) it started off as me documenting my journey to recovery from my shoulder surgery but eventually it turned into a platform that I could use to encourage myself as well as others to chase our dreams.
Rome Life isn't just a saying it's a way of life and for the people who want to be apart of it have to realize that. Rome wasn't built in a day it took a lot of handwork time and most importantly patience. So you can't expect your dreams to be any different

So glad I was born in the early 80s & had a sister who listened to them as a group (and all their solo ventures, too) who was 14 years older than me. This album, “Heart Break” reminds me of her so much. RIP big sis
The 80’s. When you had to be able to really sing to make it. No auto tune or electronic bs.

New Edition was always class. No matter the line up. Super talented, evidenced by all of them becoming stars on their own.

My favorite by them. Try their first hits "Candy Girl" and "Cool It Now", then their later hits "N.E. Heartbreak", "If It Isn't Love", and "You're Not My Kind Of Girl (my second favorite)".

Yessss. Cool it now and candy girl...youll love it. Also after New Edition broke up, Bobby Brown went solo and Michael Bivens started BBD ( bel biv dovoe) with some of the other guys ( Poison and Do Me... Check those out for sure...he also discovered Boys II Men (check out End of the Road and Motown Philly ) and Biv also discovered ABC. Another Bad Creation. Listen to 9 year olds rap. Iesha was my favorite. Def look these up if you like old school R & B.

The fact that this group is Bell Biv DeVoe, Bobby Brown, Johnny Gill, and....Ralph T. This was a magical group with so much talent! They really kicked off the beginnings of what became the amazing 90s R&B era.

YUP, music in the 70s 80s and 90s was uplifting, harmonious and sang about love. It was our solace. Today's music is about agitation, anger and whatever. Gangsta rap killed whatever was beautiful in music. Hope your generation rediscovers how much beautiful music adds to life

This is definitely one of Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis' smoothest jams they've ever written. Another great one they wrote is Human by Human League. Or Come Back To Me by Janet Jackson.
New Edition from Boston (except Johnny Gill Wash, DC) was formed in 1978 but have been together as a signed group since 1983 produced Bobby Brown, Ralph Tresvant, Johnny Gill and BBD (Bell Biv DeVoe) Ricky Bell, Michael Bivins & Ronnie DeVoe who all had platinum success outside of the group. Ralph Tresvant- Sensitivity. Johnny Gill- My, My, My. Bobby Brown- My Prerogative. BBD- Poison. Michael Bivins discovered the R&B group Boyz II Men who was named after a New Edition song of the same name. New Edition along with Force MDs, Whistle and UTFO are the first groups to mix R&B with rapping in a song and BBD took it to another level for what today is very common place in R&B music/songs. That sir that opened up in the beginning is Johnny Gill and you won’t be disappointed with his song My My My....I guarantee it 🤘🎧
When I was in 8th grade which was approx. 1985, our school won a contest, and New Edition performed in our auditorium during the school day, because that night they had a concert at Market Square Arena. I wasn't in to their music, but I can honestly say looking back on it, it was great seeing them at the beginning of their career.

A great group, a great line up. And the fact that they formed other acts from the same talented guys - Bel Biv Devoe, Bobby Brown (solo), Johnny Gil (solo), Ralph Tresvant (solo). As far as I'm concerned Johnny Gil is one of the greatest soul singers of all time. These brothers are no joke!

Johnny Gill, the first singer, did two duets with Stacey Lattisaw. One more well known than the other, but both of them are killer. They also bookend each other chronologically. The first is 'Perfect Combination,' the second is 'Where Do We Go From Here.' Enjoy.

This song is in NEW EDITION'S later yrs. During the NEW JACK SWING era. The group started as youngsters in 1978. Garnering hit starting in the early 80's. With its original lineup of BOBBY BROWN, RALPH TRESVANT, RICKY {B}ELL, MICHAEL {B}IVINS & RONNIE {D}EVOE. Then Bobby went off and did his solo work. They then brought in STACY LATTISAW's boyfriend/collaborator JOHNNY GILL. RALPH TRESVANT left as well to pursue his solo work. My favorite song from him is SENSITIVITY. The remaining three members RICKY, MIKE & RONNIE formed their own HIGHLY successful group BELL BIV DEVOE(BBD). They also created & produced the groups BOYS II MEN & ANOTHER BAD CREATION (ABC).

When Bobby Brown left the group they added Johnny Gill to fill in the slot. Mr. Gill was different from the rest of the group. He sang in Tenor or Baritone, and gave the group a more soulful sound. I really liked the change in the sound of NE. It grew up right along with me. If your lucky you grow up with an artist as your sound trax to life, New Edition was mine.
