I'm of an age when this song was played on MTV daily. About twelve years ago, I worked as an IT contractor at an Air Force base. They hired me, then I had to create network accounts for the next 300+ employees. One day, a young man entered my office asking for an account. I took his ID and looked down at the name..."Cole Medina" Speechless I looked up at him and he said, yeah, yeah, I know, my parents were fans of Tone loc. I did not know what to say, so I waited for him to leave then burst into laughter. I'd love to meet his parents. They must have an awesome sense of humor.

Thanks for doing this song. It was one of my Dad's favorite song to dance to. In 6 days it'll be 4yrs since he passed away at the age of 65 from an inoperable liver cancer. This brought back so many memories of him out at the bars on the dance floor bumpin & grindin just like he was one of us kids out there shakin our butts to a song from our teenage years. Much love to you both for just being yourselves & listening to music from every generation & genres.

Wow, my youth. I was younger than both of you when this came out and I got to tell you, the whole album is great. This may be his biggest song, but Tone Loc was not a one hit wonder. A one album wonder, maybe, but there were a ton of great songs on there. I still spin it on my record player when I need some inspiration! Nice work guys.

According to Wikipedia: “The song contains several samples. The drum break is from Get Off Your Ass and Jam by Funkadelic, and the main guitar riff is from Hot Blooded by Foreigner. Other samples are taken from (I Can't Get No) Satisfaction by The Rolling Stones (when this song is mentioned in the lyrics), Christine Sixteen by KISS, All Right Now by Free and You Ain't Seen Nothing Yet by Bachman-Turner Overdrive.[2]”

I listen and watch for, "rappers react, also known as "trash talkers" but after that, you guys are what I look forward to. the people who do not know your story, and don't understand why you haven't heard this music, will learn along the way why that is. Everyday I take about a hour out of my day with my 16 month old son and play whatever mood I’m in. Yesterday was Marvin Gaye and today was Kiss. Some days it’s Wu tang others it’s 90s boy bands. Music brings everyone together from all different cultures and backgrounds. I want my son to stay as opened minded to listen and enjoy every type of music. Y’all are amazing.
