The black and white footage starting halfway through is at Castle Donnington, Monsters of Rock Festival in 1988. I am American and was at this show. Estimated 120,000 people. It had been raining all weekend. It was thick mud everywhere you walked, and rumor has it, the mud was a foot deep towards the front of the stage. Everyone had been drinking and campling all weekend and was out of their minds. It was one of the first times GNR played in England. When they hit the stage, the crowd went crazy, and rushed the stage. It was pandamonium so bad that Axl had to stop the show a few times to tell the crowd to calm down. The barriers at the front of the stage were not like they are today. People were falling down and getting trampled in the mud. Sadly, two kids died because security could not get in and get them out. It was like a battle scene.

'Paradise City' is one of their more interesting lyrics from Appetite for Destruction. They usually close most of their live shows with this song. By the third verse the band really cuts loose before the end. Perhaps why this song is one of their more popular ones.

I was 12 when Poison hit the scene. They remain my all time favourite spot. Sticking to the Rock genre, I'd have to put Bon Jovi, Warrent, Def Leppard & Lee Aaron (seen all but Warrent live and were so very worth the money to see them). Guessing you've never heard of Lee Aaron, but she was the metal queen of Canada 🍁

You need to give their song “Patience” a listen. It’s an acoustic jam but it shows Slash’s amazing guitar skills and Axl has a totally low and different voice through about 3/4ths of the song.

It's great seeing you guys discover new music!!! Axl Rose actually has the greatest vocal range of ANYONE!!! Saw them open for KISS and JUDAST PRIEST at a MOR concert in England in '88!!! BTW, the 'black and white film' was filmed at the concert I was at in Donnington Park, UK!!! Read it on a 'range chart' beating out even Freddy Mercury!!!
