A time when black vocalists and groups were making huge strides in the music industry. I was just a small boy when I first heard Otis Redding... "I've been loving you". I felt the depth and emotion in his vocals immediately. Even at the age of ten, hearing it come on the radio....it stopped me dead in my tracks. So much great music was being produced and recorded back then. The competition in the industry was fierce back then! It produced high-quality vocalists and musicians. Most importantly...that era produced an abundance of solid gold music.

There’s lots of great 1970s Soul like this , check out Barry White, The O Jays, Spinners , The Delfonics and Stylistics …. The 70s was the best , We were listening all sorts of great different styles of music from Southern Rock to Led Zeppelin to Motown to Souland many others . Nobody cared about the genre, if it was good we listened to it. This Philly soul style music was the best for when you entertained the women at your crib. Even us white guys put this on, it was guaranteed action.

They say "just sound different" Not use to hearing REAL singing. The REAL sounds of the range of their voices! 🙌🙌
I remember when that song came out, 1976, fell in love with it and the Manhattans straight away. It was number 1 for 2 weeks.
One of the greatest soul songs of all time.
This is a wonderful song and group of the 70's, love them! You guys need to check out "The Chi-Lites" and "The Stylistics."
I love this song. The Manhattan were slick!
Love, love, love, this song! Love, love, love this group!
My Dad and my Uncle went to high school with some of the members of the Isley Brothers in Cincinnati, Ohio🥰
Loved the Manhattans still have my 45 record of this song by them and I'm 60 years old
Absolutely love this song!!💕 If you love the Isley Bros. you need to hear Ronald Isley sing "This Old Heart of Mine" with Rod Stewart. It's an awesome song!
Man, I miss good music. Back in the day, there was real, live singing. Musicians even played their own instruments. You need to do some Marvin Gaye and his band. Amazing stuff.
That was the best music ever. I wish old school 60's 70's music come back. I'm favorite was " me and Ms Jones " by Billy Paul.
This song broke my heart back in the day.
Wow! This brought back memories, I was 20 when this came out, really got the feels going with this , played it on repeat. These guys had it all, wish this kind of music made a come back.
My favorite old school classic my grandfather would bump this in the chevy d21
I do love watching the expressions on your faces. Keep it up
For you next Soul banger listen to Billy Paul…Me and Mrs Jones, it’s incredible.

"I would never wear a Onsie!" LOL so funny.. Hope you guys had a Merry Christmas - Blessings for 2023
I remember this group! This is beautiful, I love it. Have you heard "September" by Earth Wind and Fire? A mix of R & B and DISCO, from the seventies, is awesome, you would love it. One of the best songs of all time, imo.

We had the best love and break up songs.
Mr. Telephone Man! ….. Great Song! Love it!
One of the BEST songs ever
Got a reaction for y'all. Jackson 5- Blame it on the Boogie!
