🧡 Stephanie was the original Dorothy in the stage play THE WIZ before the movie with Michael Jackson! I saw her back then and I was never the same! She is the UNSUNG G.O.A.T., for sure! She had that voice as a young girl and it just got better and better! NO ONE sings this song like Ms. Mills! 🎤 Periodt! Dot! TFS! 😊

Stephanie was 16 when she played Dorothy in the stage show of The Wiz in 1974. This song will forever be hers. She recorded it again in the early 90's because the song writer and many of the people she performed with in that show were dying of HIV/AIDS at the time.
She sang this every night for YEARS as a teen, of course she owns it!
This is from the musical The Wiz. Stephanie Mills originated the role of Dorothy on Broadway.

I saw her in ' The Wiz ' on Broadway when she was a teenager, It was Breath -Taking!!! You could not believe that voice can out of that little girl.
There’s so much more her to explore and thankfully she’s still with us and still performing.
Stephanie is now 66 years old and still putting on a show to behold. I had the pleasure of seeing her earlier this year.
Stephanie sang this in the original run of The Wiz on Broadway when she played Dorothy (1974-1979)! She is an amazing talent and still tours today! 🔥🔥🔥🔥

Im going to see the revival of The Wiz in DC on October 25. Most of us know that is where Stephanie Mills started her career. I don't understand how these young people are not aware of some of the many Black musical legends of our time. I'm 64 and I don't have children but if I did I would make sure they knew🤗🤗
