FIRST TIME HEARING Somebody to Love Live Montreal 1981 | AMAZING PERFORMANCE! (QUEEN) | REACTION
Ойын-сауық
In this video I react to the famous 70's rock band Queen and their iconic performance of "Somebody to Love" Live at Montreal in 1981. Freddie Mercury is at his absolute best and delivers an outstanding rendition of this timeless song.

Hey everyone, Queen has by far become my favorite band ever and it would be my dream to see them live while it’s still possible. Unfortunately i don’t have the money to be able to do it. If any of you could help me that would mean the world to me, even just $1 could make the difference between me being able to go or not. If you want to help you can donate through my paypal link in the description or with the “Thanks” button to the right of the Like button. Of course if you can’t that’s totally okay, and i completely understand :)

Queen is my favorite
Freddie used to call Roger's vocals his dog whistle vocals cause they went so high. Saw them at their last ever UK live show at Knebworth Park in 1986. Best concert of my life

Wow, you’re super lucky to have just saw them at their very last show. No one knew sadly that that would be the last concert with freddie and the band :/ I wish i could time travel so i could see them live haha
That song would have been worth the entrance fee alone. Also, I think it was easy for Freddie to work the audience because he was pure eye candy. The other guys are great but you can't take your eyes off Freddie... Awesome. :)
Keep doing Queen and your channel will grow fast. We Queenies search KZread for those reactions, and when we find them we pay attention. 😃
I was only 9, and we all loved Queen and only turned 20 when Freddie died. J cried for days. Best band ever. Queen and an irish Band Thin Lizzy are my 2 favourites.
Freddie said in an interview that they intentionally change up the songs for the live performances. He said something like if the audience wanted to hear the same songs the same way they can do that at home with a beer. We want to give them a show and something alittle different to make it worth while.
I saw them four times. Only down side of a Queen concert was ringing ears for about 2-3 days afterwards.

Incredible performance, i completely agree 👑
I'm happy that someone of your generation appreciates Queen, I've been a a fan since 1975
Thanks, Trevor! widely known as one of their best live.. (this entire concert, BTW) -- Freddie was amazing, as always... but this BAND... everyone... how 'bout Roger on those high vocals...? Look forward to more from you...

Completely agree, they’re absolutely phenomenal
You should review Who Wants to Live Forever, live in Budapest. It will show you the power in his voice.
revisiting this reaction - For your viewing pleasure, there is a 'commentary version' of the whole Live At Montreal 1981 concert narrated by Roger & Brian in 2013 (I believe). In it, they are talking over the video with their input as to what is going on throughout. It's entertaining as the two of them together are so different. Brian is seriously narrating & Roger's cracking jokes.
I saw Queen live in Philadelphia…1976/77!!! Phenomenal concert!!!!!👍 I’m one lucky lady ❤️🔥
this video could watch it a thousand times....thanks for your sincere reaction Trevor..hugs from France
Thank you for recognizing Roger Taylor’s vocals and drums, John, Deacon, and Brian May, a lot of people just focus on Freddie Mercury. It’s the whole band. Queen.

Absolutely, the whole band is what makes it so special. They were all incredibly multi-talented
Great reaction you can't beat Queen live just pure raw Talent. Please check out( One Vision) live wembley 86 and the studio version if you'd like to compare them. I think Queen are at their best live when they are allowed to just rip and soak up the atmosphere of the Crowd.
Epic band. Favorite song.
IMHO this is Queens best live performance apart from Live Aid, all of them playing & singing showing what consummate professionals they are. Thank you for reacting to this, love from Oz🇦🇺
Keep going -Queen at Hammersmith Odeon doing White Queen! Legends!
Trevor, I’ve seen countless reactions to this performance by Queen, but your reaction is the best, IMO. Queen included a live version of Bohemian Rhapsody in the full concert version of the Montreal concert. The Montreal concert also included Save Me, where Brian and Freddie switch places at the piano during the song. Unreal. It’s also worth noting that Freddie read music only until the fourth grade, and then played piano strictly by ear after that. Each member of queen was incredibly gifted, and their synergy was outstanding. I always look forward to your reactions and your positivity is infectious. Queen.

YES! And "White Queen" live at the Hammersmith Odeon in 1975.
Queen shows us the way of phenomenal recipe of the best concerts: it must be more intense, more passion, more heart in it than at studio version. Every time they did it!
la voce di Freddie è divina❤❤❤ la band è fantastica
My favourite 😊 thanks for your reaction 😊
they also did fairly long concert sets, sometimes 20 songs and two hours long. That is a lot on Freddie's vocals. His voice will crack on some songs, he'll change pitch on others (I've read) based on how his throat felt, but you'd not notice or care because Roger swoops in effortlessly to take over if Freddie signals him to. They are a tight unit of musicians. Watch them watch Freddie and each other for clues and cues. No clicks. No backing tapes (well, except for BoRhap, but we know that). Live . Live. Live.
The best comment i ever saw was that somewhere superman is wearing a freddie mercury t-shirt ..i believe it should be true !! ...queen forever ❤❤
Listen and react to Queen - White Queen live 1975 amazing piano and guitar solo!
This song is ranked as the second greatest live performance with Live Aid the number one in musical history. Thank you for recognizing the incomparable Roger Taylor!! He was/is a beast on drums and vocals. Both his and Brian's solo work are so good. I wish Deaky would show up and play at least Under Pressure or AOBTD on this tour they are on now. Four world class musicians destined to find each other, and change music history forever♥️👑🎸🎤🥁🎹
Seeing the inimitable Queen live in concert 2nd Row centre several times in the 80's is the absolute treasure of my life.❤ Dear Freddie showed us inside his heart....and we will love him forever for it
In case you're wondering, the bottle is frequently on the piano as advertising for one of the sponsors. Freddie kept tea with honey on the piano to keep his throat from drying out during a set. He never drank anything carbonated before or during a performance for fear of burping into the mic, it would be disrespectful to the audience. Freddie once said that only dogs could hear Roger's highest notes.
Great reaction you've just witnessed the best ever 😊
I'm gonna subscribed because of your authentic reactions and your enthusiasm and not because you suppose to! Nice job as always!

We all love that a new generation is discovering that there was stellar, virtuoso talent in the pop rock world long before everyone started faking it with over quantizing , and autotuning their mediocre talent. And please do not take this as anything but constructive criticism , but learn to balance your comments... and not comment through 80% of the video. Trust me I am a professional actor , musician I know a few things about public speech and performance.and I would love to see your youtube site grow. You do what most today have forgotten to do . (You Actually Listen to the Music). You will find most will not mention these things in comments , but I have noticed the reaction Chanel's that grow the quickest are those who find this balance.

Completely get where you’re coming from. I’ve gotten the most criticism about talking during the song on this video and this video pretty much alone, as i don’t really talk over the video in my more current reactions (i may say a few words, but if there’s something more i want to say i’ll either pause the video or wait till the end), that way i respect the video i’m reacting to without interrupting. Thanks for the feedback 👍
My favourite queen song is death on two legs if you want to give that a try
My kids alsways say: "that's a Freddie-shirt"
They were so perfectly in sync with each other and the ultimate professionals… you’ll see at the breakdown ad lib section that Brian has an issue with his guitar and walked to the back of the stage… Freddie watching and riffing with the audience until Brian could rejoin… subtle looks and improv to make the song seem seamless despite a minor issue. Unfortunately the crowd was told to not react during the performance because they were filming (which pissed Freddie off 😂). There were 2 performances being filmed so the director wanted everything to be consistent. Freddie did all sorts of things to throw off the continuity… different shirts, shirt off, shoes off then on, etc… Queen WANTED the crowd to participate. You’ll notice during other songs in this performance Freddie telling people to get up and move around 😂😂
Queen and Led Zep could always switch it up for live performances. Different level of musicianship.
Great reaction!

Cool reaction,Trevor. It doesn’t get any better than Freddie Mercury and queen. You may enjoy the live version of this song. White Queen. Stunning. Also, Freddie doing a live version of You Take My Breath Away. Their song Teo Torriate in the Japan concert and Save Me in Montreal live 1981. Enjoy!
Great Queen reactions bud..watched them all. Smart and charismatic... you're going to do really well. Can't wait till you find your way to Pink Floyd and beyond.

Will definitely be reacting to Pink Floyd, just getting a heap of Queen requests which is great cause they’re amazing. Once i get through most of the requests i’ll eventually branch out to other bands from the era :)
Brian May talks about his great piano skills. He says exactly what you said that no one mentions his great piano skills.
@TrevorReaction
Жыл бұрын
Exactly, they were all so humble and Brian’s skills are seriously underrated. I also heard Freddie speaking about how he thinks he’s not a very good piano player which couldn’t be further from the truth, he’s excellent!
Great to hear bud! Make sure Comfortably Numb is from the LIve Pulse Concert. No hurry though...awesome what you are already doing. I think you'll find just as big a reaction family who scour the internet for Floyd reactions, as do the Queenies (I'm both). And yeah....these two bands just scratch the surface of some of the best rock music ever made, It gives me such joy knowing that there are young people finding and embracing the soundtrack of my life and making it their own.
You mentioned the crowd, or being in the crowd, This is worth reacting to, i wont say to much, the title says it all Green Day Crowd Singing Bohemian Rhapsody [Live in Hyde Park 2017]

White Queen Live at the Odeon Hammersmith 1975 and Liar, live at the Rainbow 1974, both televised hour long performances will give you an idea of their very impressive 1st decade, often overlooked by reviewers who know the 80's "mustache" Freddie. Many of the best songs were created in the 70's. I.e. Stone Cold Crazy, You're My Best Friend, Killer Queen, Death On Two Legs, Fat Bottom Girls (written by Brian) Don't Stop Me Now, Bicycle Race, Dreamers Ball, The Millionaires Waltz, the March of the Black Queen, In the Lap of the Gods Revisited, My Fairy Fellers Master Stroke, You Take My Breath Away, and the list goes on and on including of course, Bohemian Rhapsody, We Will Rock You and We Are The Champions. ( All are pre- mustache)

just buy the record is what Roger says to all those people who can not accept Adam Lambert - and anybody else but Freddie - as frontman for Queen - - we are playing the music!!
Please react to The Miracle..it's phenomenal with some cute little surprises thrown in!
Thats exactly what Freddie said. .. we dont WANT to see it exactly like the reccord. They could stay home in that case .. Not a quote, but you get the gist
Queen hat etwa 200 Songs geschrieben,da haben sie noch sehr viel zu hören! Innuendo, Miracle, Headlong, Breakthu!
If you want to know how well Roger Taylor sings, watch Killer Queen/ I am in love with my car from the same Montreal concert. The second song is sung by Rodger as the lead singer.

Queen is better live! Pure talent in all four in all their songs. They are the best live performing band ever!
Don't get me wrong Trevor...love all the Queen your doing. I would say smartest choice out of the gate for channel growth too. Same will happen with Floyd when you get there...LOL! I'd love to see you start with "Comfortably Numb" Live. And I have a huge request for down the road someday, a four to six-part reaction to the greatest album of all time "Dark Side of the Moon".

Ooh, i’ve heard a lot about “Dark Side of the Moon”, know i won’t be disappointed with that one! My dad’s also a huge fan of Pink Floyd, i might even react to Comfortably Numb in the next week or so just to shake things up :) Hopefully the Queen subscribers won’t be disappointed in the change of reactions but yeah I’ll definitely be branching out to other bands while still reacting to Queen. (Probably 2 Queen videos then 1 different reaction video).
Please check out Killer Queen/I'm In Love With My Car live at Montreal!
great reaction, full marks to all of course but rogers vocals are something else

Hey deborah, i can’t even remember how i talked through this video as i recorded it over a month ago but if you look at my more recent reactions i try my best to not talk while the video is playing and if i have more than a few words to say i’ll pause the video or save it till the end :)
I actually couldn't believe I read a comment on an other musician's reaction video of a live performance that someone posted, with a whole lot of loud opinion, that it didn't sound like the recording. They were 'entitled'ly pissed because it was artistically different. And they argued the point! They wanted to hear the exact same song. What a brick wall ...

The fact it sounds different to the record is what makes it great! Who wants to hear the songs played the exact same way, to me that defeats the purpose of seeing it live! And Freddie and the band always adapted and made their songs different every time they sang it, now that to me is class and talent
Roger Taylor wrote this
So many people play the Montreal version, but IMHO Milton Keynes is better. Personal taste.

sorry but its called a reaction video. If you want to see the music without any talking you can watch the original. KZread actually requires that people add some sort of value to the video if they’re using other content so i can’t just sit there staying quiet through the whole thing. I try my best to pause whenever i have something to say that’s more than a few words as to not interrupt the video
Seriously, do you do anything besides talk?
Why do you keep talking on top of him singing !?Its very rude to do this.

Thanks for the support. I get mixed reactions from commentary during the video, some people like it as its a reaction, and others don't. So for now my compromise is pausing the video whenever i have something brief to say, and i might say a word or two while the video plays, but otherwise i'll leave most of my thoughts until the video if over

Quiet…talk later. Talking about someone singing on another song not being reacted to just doesn’t work.
