Shout out to Roger Taylor killing it on the drums & vocals. I can only name a handful of drummers that have the talent to pull that off. Every band member is the complete package. Roger really shines in "Somebody To Love".

Yes!!! He's the one I watch during this song.. and after realizing how much he does behind Freddy I try to watch and listen to him in every video. Freddy deserves the front man praise of course but all members of queen we're impressive yet seemed OK supporting Freddy.

Every member of this band has written multiple number 1 hits..... Freddie Mercury - Don't Stop Me Now, Bohemian Rhapsody, Somebody To Love, Crazy Little Thing Called Love and We Are The Champions John Deacon - Another One Bites The Dust, I Want To Break Free and You're My Best Friend. Roger Taylor - Radio Ga Ga and A Kind Of Magic as well as These Are The Days Of Our Lives. Brian May - Fat Bottomed Girls, We Will Rock You, and Who Wants To Live Forever? A collection of that much talent in one band is almost criminal.

My American view is that all 4 of them, individually, have been elected into the Songwriters Hall of Fame. They didn’t get much attention here after the video parade of some British show. Idiots over here just saw a bunch of dudes in dresses. This caused both brain cells to collide and come up with the assumption that Queen was a group of transvestites🙄

Freddie's favourite singer was Aretha and boy does it sound like it here. Just consider his story: quiet little Farrokh Bulsara, moving to England in the 1960s, back when racism was open and everywhere. He turned himself into Freddie Mercury. Everything about this is amazing but props to Roger Taylor on drums. There are other world-famous bands whose lead singers aren't as good as he is on vocals here, and he does it while hitting the shit out of those things. John Deacon holds it together on bass - the quiet man who wrote their biggest US hit Another One Bites The Dust - and then Brian May, one of the greatest guitarists of all time, playing the guitar he and he father made out some bits of wood and parts of a motorbike. What a band. What a fucking band.

While not minimizing Freddy's experiences with horrible bigotry in the slightest, I'd only disagree with you on one point there, and that's that English racism not being "open and everywhere" has ever been a thing. If anything, it's worse now than it's been in a long time. Even Starmer's Labour is calling for the corrupt Met to "shoot first and ask questions about racism later", even though they've repeatedly proven that they already do that, very enthusiastically.

Freddie had a degree in graphic art and designed Queen's logo. John Deacon had an advanced degree in electrical engineering, and built the amp (from parts he found in the trash) that Brian used to get the Queen sound. Roger Taylor had a degree in biology. And Brian with his degree in astrophysics, has worked with NASA on space projects. Also, all four are in the songwriter's hall of fame, and have written number 1 songs.

If you're a Prince fan, you _NEED_ to see the cover of an old Beatles song called "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" by Jeff Lynne (lead singer of ELO), Tom Petty and Prince (among other musicians). Prince steals the show with his guitar solo at the end. BTW, rumor has it, Superman wears a Queen shirt.😉

I'd really like them to hear the original first by The Beatles, one ELO song with Jeff, and one Tom Petty song, (I'm assuming they've heard a Prince song), so they can fully appreciate the talent on that stage. You'll definitely see that legendary performance on this channel. They are gonna freak over Prince's guitar solo. Great suggestion!

There has never been anyone like him. Freddie was one in a billion! Best frontman vocalist of a band ever. There are a lot of greats don't get me wrong - but Freddie was THE most prolific, energetic, charismatic, talented etc. He was was also good friends with Michael Jackson. Many considered Freddie the rock n roll equivalent of MJ due to his sheer level of stage presence and showmanship. We the world lost him way too soon - not just an amazing artist, but also an amazing human being who truly loved people, the world, humanity, etc. Other band vocalists who have singing voices that can compare: Steve Perry of Journey, Brad Delp of Boston, Robert Plant of Led Zeppelin, and for the female side, the greatest all time is Flor Jansen of NightWish, but others near her level are Amy Lee of Evanesence and Ann Wilson of Heart

Queen: Full Live Aid Concert. It's over 20 minutes long, but I have watched other reactions to it, and I promise you that you will not lose anyone clicking off during the whole reaction, despite its length. I actually watched this live on TV at a summer birthday sleepover when I was 12 years old. This Live Aid concert was held on July 13, 1985 and there were two concerts held for Live Aid on that same day: one in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania USA and the other London, England, UK. MTV had VJ hosts and cameras filming on both sides of the pond and they ran the concert live all day and night. MTV would switch from one concert to the other all day long: they'd show an artist playing in Philadelphia, then one in London, then back to Philly, then back to London ... all day, with interviews from the performers in between line-up changes. It was brilliant! This was back when MTV was at it's absolute best. Many bands and performers participated, including Queen. It was a benefit concert in aid of the famine in Ethiopia. Queen performed from Wembley Stadium in London, England and their performance is so legendary (considered the BEST performance of any performer at Live Aid) that a tagline is famously attached to it: "This is the only time in England's history that, for 20 minutes, the country was ruled by an entirely different Queen." *** Watch the crowd! Especially during Radio Gaga. Freddie had them in the palm of his hand. Complete crowd control - pay attention at 5:49. CROWD. CONTROL!!! Here is their set list from that concert: Bohemian Rhapsody 0:24 Radio Gaga 2:40 ------> Fun Fact: Lady Gaga took her stage name from this song. Ay-Oh 6:47 (interaction with the crowd) Hammer to Fall 7:34 Crazy Little Thing Called Love 12:20 We Will Rock You 16:01 We Are The Champions 17:20 Another fun fact: Freddie Mercury was quite sick that day with a throat infection and was advised by his doctor not to perform the concert. He did anyway ... and wow, did he KILL it! Link to the reaction here: kzread.info/dash/bejne/d56Mx9aQe5C7ops.html&ab_channel=KZreadTest

Thanks for the terrific reaction. Love your enthusiasm and appreciation for Freddie and the band. This band DOES have soul!!! Deacy on bass holding down the rhythm with Roger who kills on drums and adds his own amazing vocals and Brian May on guitar - his guitar "sings" and always gets a verse (and Brian sings and adds to the harmonies)... The talent here is overwhelming. I love the harmonies this band produces. Sometimes you will want to do a studio version of a song to really appreciate that part of their talent. The live performances were intended by the group to be unique and different from the studio versions. There is value in both. I would recommend next "Save Me" from the same 1981 show. It was written by Brian about a friend's breakup.

Brilliant reaction!! Queen were voted #1 live band by several rock magazines...and rightly so!! I've been a die hard Queen fan since 1980. You should stay on the Queen tracks because that's a fantastic journey!! Try White Queen at the Hammersmith Odeon in 1975 or You Take My Breath Away from Hyde Park in 1976. You're a great couple too. The dude is a nice and sincere guy and the girl is an oasis of serenity amidst the mostly loud and proud reactors out there. Keep it up! I subscribed!

Freddie Mercury - musical genius, amazing musician, fantastic songwriter and greatest front man in rock history..... R.I.P. dear sweet Freddie. You are missed..... Next - you have to watch Queen's 20 minute set at the charity concert at Live Aid in 1985. Best 20 minutes in rock history. Queen stole the show.... These 4 original Queen members - Freddie, Brian, Roger and John were together for 20 years until Freddie's early death in 1991. They were together from 1971 until 1991..... so you have 20 years of studio videos, live performances and albums to enjoy. Every performance is different. And Queen sang all kinds of genres of music. Lots of surprises. Always fun and always amazing. Greatest rock band in history......

Freddie had a charisma. That "it" factor. He had an ability to turn songs in to epic little journeys. Audience control also. That is, he grouped up the people INTO his performances. And this was 1981. As far as Freddie Mercurys vocal abilities, hs wasnt even at his best. His voice had became deeper and he was straining to reach the higher notes that came so powerfully easy five years before. His high register just wasnt there any longer. Yet, yet..what he lacked in range, he made up for in sure energy and emotion. Thats what the best performers do. Even as they age and some abilities are not as strong, they dig deeper into their hearts to give more in other ways. Elvis did it. MJ did it. And certainly Freddie here did this.

Listen, since you all are already so invested in Freddie and Queen you really should invest 2-4 bucks to watch the movie Bohemian Rhapsody. Also, another gone far too soon singer that is outstanding is Jeff Buckley. Any song will do but you might want to try starting with Hallelujah. His voice is haunting and so pure. Truly amazing. Thanks for the great reactions. It warms this old woman's heart to see you guys enjoy my old beloved friends! (songs)

I love how Rico hears the lyrics "I get down on my knees and start to pray, till the tears run down from my eyes..." and "I just got to get out of this prison cell. One day I'm gonna be free!" and you can see his emotional reaction that we're also feeling, watching. He stops it and talks about the quality of Freddie's voice, but we all know it's because of the emotive power and relatability of those lyrics. They make you almost want to cry, as you feel the passion and release of emotion.

George Michael with the remaining members of Queen performing this track in front of 80,000 fans at Wembley stadium is worth reacting too. The whole concert was a tribute to Freddie after his death. Other acts included, guns n roses, Extreme, Metallica, David Bowie, Elton John and many more

Freddie hit higher notes in this version then in the studio version. His voice just became heavier and darker, but he actually sang higher in the 80's. It is funny how people don't realize this. The highest note in the studio version is a G5, Freddie does more then one G#5 in this live version. People often don't understand what high notes really sounds like.

Great reaction guys, thanks. Not bad from an untrained singer, is it? He never took singing lessons. This song was Freddie's favorite, he considered it better than Boghemian Rhapsody from the writing aspect. White Queen at Hammersmith 75 proves again their legendary collaboration, don't miss it out.
