He’s a great great songwriter as well as a marvelous singer. Bob Dylan called him the greatest living poet in America.
Does something to the soul. ❤️ “Tracks of My Tears” “Tears of a Clown” “Mickey’s Monkey”

More Smokey please! Please listen to "Cruisn".
OMG....that mans voice has been melting my heart for yrs and yrs! No one sings as silky smooth as Smokey does!
You got to do "Cruisin'" by Smokey 🔥
There is a live black and white version from the 60's where you really get to see and hear Smokey in his prime. The sweetest voice ever put on record. I had the great pleasure in seeing Smokey Robinson and The Miracles 5 times in the early and middle 60's. Unforgettable voice, unforgettable performer.

So agree. If you love Smokey (& The Miracles) you have to see the live black n white video of them singing OOh Baby Baby. You'll get chills by this performance. Smokey poured all his emotions into that song. I thought nothing could top the studio recording but I was wrong. Of course I love the Righteous Brothers. Bro Bobby Hatfield (blonde tenor) has a grip of solos out there where his vocals are off the chain like you heard when he sang Unchained Melody live on the Andy Williams TV show. Finally ck out the 106 yr old Irish song "Oh Danny Boy" sung by Jackie Wilson live in 1958 on a TV show, That black n white video captures a chill wrenching peformance so soulfully it will blow you away.

@@pharamathews5152 I too agree. I would add watching a young Johnny Mathis singing "It's Not For Me to Say", Jackie Wilson singing "Lonely Teardrops", Nat King Cole doing "Nature Boy", and Frank Sinatra doing "Fly Me To The Moon". All live, all in black and white, all classic. Also listen to Ella Fitzgerald doing "Cry Me A River", although that isn't a live performance.

@@helgar791 All great choices. I did see "Lonely Teardrops" video. I will check out the other videos you mentioned. Thinking of Johnny Mathis & his buttery voice...I remember as a child sitting on the living room floor mesmerized by him & his singing on a TV show. I kept looking at his twinkling eyes & gorgeous looks while hearing his voice. I called out to my mom that I think God decided to create the most beautiful person he could and I'm looking at him right now. :)

Hel Gar, listened to all the other videos you mentioned and hands down the "Chill Factor" goes to Ella. God..what a pure beautiful voice she had. Legendary.

@@pharamathews5152 Agreed. Toward the end of "Cry Me A River" Ella says, "Ray, remember all that you said". Ella had been in a long term relationship with Ray Brown, the bassist on the entire "Clap Hand Here Comes Charlie" album from which this is from (I highly recommend listening to the entire album. Her "My Reverie" kills), which had recently ended. She really felt that song, and that line shows. However, look up how Nat got the song "Nature Boy" from the first hippie, Eden Ahbez.
The smoooothest voice on Earth. Smokey.
Smokey is a large part of Motown. He wrote many songs, and also sung many. History to check.
Nothing like Motown and Smokey, Marvin, Stevie, and others. They ruled the air waves and our memories 😘🤣💙✌️😎❤️
Absolutely loved your reaction to Smokey Robinson. He made some amazing songs, this is my favorite one. Thanks for playing it.
Smokey has a great voice and is so easy on the eyes. He still looks and sounds good all these years alter
His facial expressions cracked me up but I definitely get it! My #1 Smokey and The Miracles song!!! ❤🔥🎵❤🔥🎵
Temptations “ My Girl” and “Just My Imagination “ “ I wish It Would Rain “ Since I Lost My Baby”
This is one of my favorite Smokey songs, and such fun watching you get 'into' it. And yes, Smokey's voice is unmistakable!
That's what you call real music, son. Just one of the ultimate R&B crooners of the day. Love your facial expressions as you enjoy this.
Seriously?? You never heard this b4?? You better recognize! Smokey is the greatest poet of all time!! Singer, Songwriter, Producer, Motown Exec. His has written for almost everyone! This song has been remade/covered many many times!! This is some "Old school" right here!!🎶🎤🎵🎼 This will ne-ver die! This music makes you feel‼️💯 This got the ladies back in-the day😍Can't nobody do SMOKEY, but SMOKEY baby‼️‼️🎤🎤🎤🎤♥️♥️♥️♥️
Such a great singer and songwriter. A huge influence with Motown - off to a great start with Motown Monday!
Love Smokey Robinson and seeing your expressions getting into it!
One of the greatest "Motown" songs, and artists ever. Smokey was there from the very beginning. We were spoiled by the amount, and quality of the music back then.
Let's not forget that he wrote tons oh hits for other groups at Motown, like #1 My Girl for the Temptations.
Smokey always brings it! Smoothest voice of all time!
Motown at its heyday, great groups with great songs and singers. The epitome of great love songs.
Smokey was one of the many Motown greats of the day, and I'm just glad that I was around to hear them all.
1st song to EVER bring me to tears, on 1st hearing it. THis is what WE called " SOUL " -----------MJL, 76 y/o
Smokey… the best. Love this song. Your Motown reactions are just ✨💫 🔥
HE IS THE MAN!! HE IS MOTOWN!! Believe it or not he can still hit those notes today.
Smokey is one of my all time faves since childhood.
Love me some SMOKEY !! You should really check out more of his music. ! He is simply brilliant ! Check out CRUISING , TRACKS OF MY TEARS , TEARS OF A CLOWN . Those are just a few !
King of Smooth Smokey!
Also would like you to react to more of the Supremes...My World Is Empty Without You and Reflections. You can't go wrong with anything that's Motown. That's why it was called Hitsville.
This one is hard to top. This is Smokey at his best. And yes, this was the one you had to dance to with that "somebody".
I went and seen Smoky every year, he came to Denver, in the 80s❣
Great reaction! Grew up on Motown! Everywhere you went it was playing. If you didn't know the band is The Funk Brothers with the incomparable Jamie Jameson on bass. They played for all the Motown groups and singers. You go see them playing at any of the iazz joints around Detroit or Windsor.
You have no idea the depth of his talent and music - he basically sung my life with his beautiful words in so many of his songs - I love him with evening I have!
This song just popped out of the man while performing... cause he owed the organisation that organised the show 5 minutes.... that's how brilliant he is
This is as good as it gets. No one will ever make music like this again! Motown will never be duplicated!
THE MIRACLES, were Motown’s FIRST and MOST IMPORTANT GROUP. It was THEIR SUCCESS that gave MOTOWN RECORDS their FIRST MILLION SELLING HIT RECORD with the 1960 GRAMMY HALL OF FAME SMASH, *SHOP AROUND* …and They went on to have over 50 CHART HITS…and won numerous music industry awards. THE MIRACLES’ success paved the way for ALL FUTURE MOTOWN STARS…including The Supremes, The Temptations, Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, The Four Tops, The Jackson Five, and many others. THE MIRACLES are: SMOKEY ROBINSON, CLAUDETTE ROGERS-ROBINSON, RONNIE WHITE, BOBBY ROGERS, PETE MOORE, and MARV TARPLIN. ALL SIX are in THE ROCK AND ROLL HALL OF FAME. THE MIRACLES also have MORE SONGS inducted into The Grammy Hall of Fame than ANY OTHER MOTOWN GROUP. See “The Miracles” in Wikipedia.
Smokey...so smooth.
Classic! This song is so luscious I'm surprised more babies born in 1965 and 1966 weren't named Smokey. The sound in the background that gave you chills came from violins. When you're ready for more hits from Smokey Robinson & The Miracles check out "I Second That Emotion", "The Tracks Of My Tears", "The Tears Of A Clown", "You've Really Got A Hold On Me", "Shop Around", "Going to a Go-Go", and "I Like It Like That" among others.

Motown had the best artists. My family opened me up to this music as I was growing up, and its my favorite genre of music to this day.
Boy you had me laughing so hard.. your reaction to Smokey was priceless
Smokey = Sexy Time.. lol Such a soothing voice. He has amazing tracks too! Thanks Twon!! ❤️❤️❤️
ooh Smokey,! Smokey! (1965..25 years old) 😘😘😘 Motown's finest!!!
Great to hear the Motown classics
Ultimate slow-dance! And he gave away his best song - he wrote My Girl for The Temptations!
You can't go wrong with smooth Smokey .....one of the best that ever did it... yasssss
Awesome indeed and Motown is stacked indeed 👌
Listen to being with you, tears of a clown, and cruisin by smokey!! All 3 are great!!
Smokey…. Ohhhh baby baby! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Oh Smokey! This song is 🔥
Yes this group is dynamic and everything about Smokey is mesmerizing😍 and the group The Miracles alone, has their own album: I Love You Secretly.
You should check out Oh Girl by the Chi Lites What becomes of a broken heart by Jimmy Ruffin Ooh Child by the Five Stairsteps Not all of them were with Motown but they’re all 🔥🔥🔥
Glad you went with the recorded version. The best sound quality 😁❤️
Absolutely no one can top Smokey!!
What a great song.❤️
me too...those violins in the background...perfection
I met Smokey at a party about 15 years ago.. such a nice guy and he smelled so damn good! LOL
HAH! I remember how the guys used to LINE UP to dance with the girls on this song. This is just so smooth, AND poetic. Smokey is no joke
Really enjoying Motown Monday! Smokey wrote a lot of songs for the Miracles as well as other Motown artists. You should react to The Tracks Of My Tears and A Fork In The Road. Got a chance to see The Miracles at a small club for teens when I was in high school. The girls went crazy. Awesome experience.
🤩 Love Smokey and The Miracles!! I have my parents original Smokey, and many Motown artists vinyl albums from the 60's. I remember always looking at the album covers while my parents played their music. I was only 3 and 4 years old and Motown music was already moving me. ✌🌼🌻
Smokey Robinson Tracks of my Tears is in my humble opinion one of the best songs ever written. By anyone. Ever.
More smokey please! Cruisin is one of his best.
You’ve really got a hold on me, Shop around, The tracks of my tears, I second that emotion and More Love. Plus, Going to a go-go.
You should played the live version video when their dancing and singing
Loved Smokey Robinson when I was a kid. Always preferred the black groups. More soul to their sound.
My young brother that sound you heard in the song that sent a chill through you was a violin, back in those days some songs had full orchestration. One day when you got time listen to this song again and check out the violins as well as all the instruments. Here is a list of some Smokey songs with the Miracles as well as solo songs. The Love I Saw In You Was Just A Mirage, Doggone Right, Here I Go Again, Swept For You Baby, Much Better Off, We've Come To Far Too End It Now, Satisfaction. Some solo songs; The Agony and The Ecstasy, Daylight and Darkness, I've Made Love To You A Thousand Times, Just To See HerQuiet Storm, Virgin Man, Baby Come Close this a just a few of a very long list . Smokey's been doing this over 60 years and he still kicking butt!!
Dells “ A Heart Is A House For Love, “ Oh What A Night”
Tracks of my tears
Love him.
Smokey have done so much great music that gets right to your soul. Love him ❤️❤️❤️
And the man is STILL doin it!
❤️❤️❤️ Double up on the Motown by checking out his cut with Rick James, "Ebony Eyes", an unsung JAM!
Nothing today, even come so close to this Masterpiece.
Smokey also had a song called Agony to the Ecstasy and the song called cruising
That is what you have been missing! So glad all this good music is reaching you!

That would be the String Section, violin, viola, cellos and bass. Actual orchestra.
Your facial expressions bring me joy 😂
The Motown Sound.Black Americans owned the sound and the style.

Ooooooh, like warm honey drippin in your ears 🍯🍯🍯
Smokey my favorite 😍
Growing up, my sister who I shared a room with, was a big Motown fan. She had so many 45s and a little portable record player. Thanks to her, I've been a fan for decades and truly appreciate your Motown Mondays young man! Bless you 🙏 It's apparent that you love music and your reactions simply make my day! 😽💋🎶
When I heard Bruno Mars singing on Silk Sonic, he reminds me of Smokey Robinson from the 60s & 70s.
William F. Robinson Jr --------------Bobby Rodgers -----------Pete Moore & Ronny White --------------my all-time #1 song.
Gorgeous, just gorgeous.
Smokey had it all. He's so smooth. And his backup group, the Miracles, set him off perfectly.
I can shut my eyes when that first swooning sound starts Their voices and moves were so in sync, i dare to find a mistake. Good reaction to our great music 🎶
Beautiful and he still sings and sounds good.
Freakin beautiful!!,
Smooth Smokey
You have to check out Smokey singing this song with the Queen Aretha on Soul Train. It’s unbelievable. Catch it on You Tube.
Your facial expressions were priceless 💚
Oh my. Brought me way back to my high school days. I remember playing his Quiet Storm album for hours. If you want to hear a romantic, goose bumps song, listen to Baby Come Close. I can remember being in class just humming the line "Turn the lights down low, baby come close"....such great mememories. I was lucky enough to see him 3 times in a small concert venue in San Carlos, Ca. The old Circle Star Theater is now torn down. Smokey could melt you. Man or women it did not matter, as your reaction to this song showed. Everyone has a crush on Smokey. Thank you for playing a really good memory making song. kzread.info/dash/bejne/c62elJujf7LelJs.html

Absolutely! That is my favorite. Cruisin is great as others have suggested, but if you really want to turn up the heat ‘Baby Come Close’ will do that. ‘Cruisin’ is foreplay, ‘Baby Come Close’ will take you all the way. Well, it wouldn’t hurt to throw in a little Isley Brothers as well.
I love this. This was the first song I ever suggested to you. But bro you gotta stop pausin so much 😂😂😂 let that vibe rideee
Smokey is one of the all-time greats! He wrote almost all of the songs for Motown!
