Smokey Robinson was the founder and front man of the Motown vocal group "The Miracles" from the 50's-70's. They had lots of great hits including "You've Really Got a Hold on Me", "Mickey's Monkey", "I Second That Emotion", "Baby Baby Don't Cry", "The Tears of a Clown", "Ooo Baby Baby", "Going to a Go-Go", "The Tracks of My Tears" etc. He wrote many hit songs for other Motown artists such as Mary Wells, The Temptations, The Four Tops, The Marvelettes, Marvin Gaye & others.

Smokey Robinson is so freaking talented and has been all his life. He is a songwriting genius, as is evident by the catalog of music he composed for The Miracles and many other Motown artists. He wrote Motown's first million-selling hit, "Shop Around" (1961) for his group; it was the first #1 song on Billboard's R&B chart. Then, in 1964, he wrote and produced (for Mary Wells) a song called "My Guy", and it became Motown's first #1 hit on the Billboard 100.

ITZJT, the correct title and recording artist fo this 45 rpm record are "OOO Baby" by The Miracles, not "Ooh Baby Baby" by Smokey Robinson & The Miracles. The 454 rpm single label lists the group and not Smokey as an individual. This song is included on the album "Smokey Robinson & The Miracles" Going TO A GO-Go". The album was the first time the group was credited as Smokey Robinson & The Miracles. The Miracles recorded on the Tamla label.

If you check the movie COOLEY HIGH, you'll hear a lot of those old school gems and how they got down back in the day. The movie showed me some things never change! They were slow grinding on this JAM...WHEW!!!!!

Just great to hear such a pure falsetto voice. There are only a few singers in R&B and soul music (El DeBarge, Prince and others) who can do a falsetto voice. Greetings from Heidelberg / Germany

My number one choice of pop song from the 20th CENTURY.. The musical accomplishments of the twentieth-century have been thrown out the door and are completely unknown by today's youth .

Check out the movie "Cooley High" it's a 1970's black coming of age movie, set in Chicago in the '60s. This song and several of Smokey's songs and other Motown songs are featured in the movie. Many people like that movie better than the Temptations movie. You should watch it. Smokey was IT back then. The movie is available on KZread channels, stars Glen Turman (was married to Aretha at one time) and Lawrence Hilton Jacobs (played the father in the Jackson 5 movie.)
