Wow! My first listen too. I'm hooked.
Absolutely Stunning 🤩
3 Grammys- 2 for arrangements, 1 for performance- #1 debut on Billboard chart for their album of originals, multi-platinum selling albums worldwide, and next year they're getting a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame
Yes, that last breakdown is a master class in syncopation and working as a team.
One of my all-time favorite covers.. You will really appreciate this even more by listening to Kiiara's original.. this is definitely one of their "upgrades".
This is magical. It’s possibly my favorite, and I don’t think it gets enough notice.
Great reaction! Love PTX ❤️
My favorite video for watching Kevin.
You're heading down that rabbit hole... ❣❣❣❣❣
Thank you for reacting to this amazing Pentatonix video. They are incredible. I love the round robin that Mitch, Kirstin and Scott did near the end of the song. More Pentatonix reactions soon, please.
Notice that this is recorded live: 5 people sitting around and singing with 5 mics. If you ever listen to the original by Kiiara, she doesn't even do the part that Mitch sings here live - her keyboard/synth player has her voice sampled, and just loops it.

She actually can sing it. There a 2 live performances with her, the second one she does the full thing
Welcome to the club. You are officially a Pentaholic now!
I love these "live ensemble" videos where they sing the entire song in one take. Minimal editing or studio corrections and you can clearly see how fantastically talented these guys are. They are such perfectionists.
One favorites of theirs! So raw…striped down. Avi and Kevin…just chilling on the couch giving us their pure talent!
One of my faves right with Havana.
This is so,brilliant. Thank you for playing. 200 plus songs. Covers and originals. They don’t ever miss
OMG!! THEY SLAUGHTERED IT!! this is so f'n awesome!! This is my first listen to this... i watched Kiiara and i liked it.. but their version is AMAZING! Mitch and Kirstin compliment each other hhere.. first time ive ever heard Techno a capella.. Kevin and Avi are so good in this....
You should really listen to the original by Kiara. The part that Mitch does with his voice, she used modulated sampled/synth tracks to achieve. Just makes what PTX manages to accomplish in this cover, that much more impressive :)

No one should ever listen to the Kiiara version. It is audio torture.

I have to say that so many people say that Mitch sings what Kiiara could only do with synths. I disagree - if you listen to Kiiara's version, she absolutely could have done it the same way as Mitch. The fact is though, she isn't an a capella artist - she made an artistic choice to do it using heavy synths. The entire song is very heavily synthesized, and that is the sound she was going for. That doesn't mean that she wasn't capable of it, she just didn't want to to. But when it all comes down to it, my personal preference is that I don't like Kiara's version, I much prefer PTX's version. PTX are usually very appreciative of the artists and songs that they choose to cover.

@@elizabethfelet4743 notice I never said she "couldn't" have sung it. I said she didn't, important distinction, but I understand what you mean and you are correct in that it's an artistic choice of doing it that way

@@N_F414 Yes, sorry, this wasn't directed specifically at you. It was more of an observation about soooo many people who say that Kiiara can't do what Mitch did, when in fact it is highly possible that she can do what Mitch did, but that artistically her choice was to do it with the heavy synth sound. No disrespect intended to you.

@@kirkzentner3262 😂😂😂😂 truth.
Kevin is an amazing beat boxer and one of my favorite performers. He is so expressive, too. Avi (AH-vee), the bass, is a basso profundo. He was trained in opera singing in college.
So amazing. Such bass, no looping, beatbox, harmonies. Wow. Great reaction!

Too bad Avi left the group and is doing his own thing.

@@theblackbaron4119 I actually think it's --great-- Avi left the group, because it's what he needed for his own mental health. Do I think the music he made with Pentatonix is fantastic? You bet! But it wouldn't have continued to be if Avi was stressed or unhappy, he clearly needed his own path. To everything there is a season. I can celebrate his gifts then, AND celebrate his gifts and happiness now. Pentatonix is different now, more experimental, more pop, ...but still talented creators of amazing music. Everyone has grown up, everyone seems fulfilled, everyone is still producing content for me to enjoy. WIN-WIN-WIN. Nothing is lost, just changed. Stagnancy is not good, for artists, especially. Even if Avi had chosen to stay, Pentatonix would still have grown up.
Great reaction would love for you to react to Avi's Kaplan ( bass)solo stuff so good. Would recommend Change on the rise.
Really a showcase of their individual talents! AWESOME!
Pure TALENT 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Yes please More PTX no question.
I appreciate you doing a regular Pentatonix reaction. I can't see on Patreon which PTX got blocked, so sorry if I suggest it again -- PTX original songs -- "Happy Now", "Sing". Covers -- "Cheerleader" (OMI), "Break My Heart' (Dua Lipa)
Mitch was incredible..vocal masterpiece..he did what Kiara did with autotune..synthesizer..😊
My absolute favorite PTX song ❤️
Great review, Kevin the beatboxer is even more brilliant when he does it and plays the cello at the same time.
I love to see this one appreciated for all the details and specific choices they made!
Please check out “New Rules” by Pentatonix
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
And this in a "Live Recording" setting. Most "reactors" miss the point of this peticular (Yeah there are other I Know) session is, that they keep on point while singing it not flitching the flow at any point. No editing or nothing .. pure singing from beginning to end. Amazing (to me at least).
FIRE 🔥🔥🔥
If you want your mind blown do " daft punk medley " or macklemore can't hold us
Yay! Love this song by PTX! Thanks for reacting to this. Anchor is another one!
Is funny to me how this cover is a masterclass of the art of change voice registers from Mitch, he goes from head to chest in less than a second but you didn't even notice.
One of my favorites of theirs and I haven't heard in for a while. Thanks.
One of my favorite PTX songs. Thanks for the reaction.
You should watch the show they got their break on. It was call Sing Off and they were game changing and still are revolutionary.
Definitely do more reactions to Pentatonix. You will be amazed by every one!
This is a true upgrade! While the original's beat was catchy, they vocals (if you could call them that) left a lot to be desired! Listen to the original sometime, you will be amazed what they did with it! Thank you for the PTX reaction!

Yup, I watched the original, hated it. Watched a voice coach reaction, and the way she described what Mitch was doing, wow, on Mitch. I read an interview where he said that it was one of the most difficult things he had ever done.
Loved your reaction. Cant wait to see more reactions to Pentatonix. :)
I think it is impossible for Pentatonix to do an average song. What I mean by that is that all of the music that they do is amazing! They set the bar so high for themselves and always surpass it. I just got tickets to see them in September and I have to tell you that I am over the moon and so excited!
Loved your reaction to this - to me this is essential PTX, and so accessible :)
You’ve GOT to go hear the original! And then listen to the PTX upgrade again. You’ll be even more amazed!
This is one of their most stunning upgrades. Truly I cannot listen to the original, the whole song grates on my nerves. I strongly dislike it. But I love their version so much.
This is nice for who does what. One of my favorites of Pentatonix. Avi Kaplan, the bass, really has gone Chris Stapleton after leaving Pentatonix because of a bad case of touring burnout. Doing his own music now released his first solo album produced by Shooter Jennings. He will be fun for you to check out eventually. He's released about 30 songs since leaving, all but 3 originals. Bad timing with the quarantine lockdown beginning just as he was starting touring (ok now going on a reduced schedule with plenty of breaks) with his new band including instruments.
You like this then you would like their LIVE cover of Twenty One Pilots RIDE. So good!
Loved your reaction, this is in the top 10 of PTX covers for me. Mitch may be the star but every one of them is perfection in this and it wouldn't work if any one of them was removed. In fact this is probably in my top 25 best covers ever. Be blessed.
😱🔥

Pentatonix are great, so are Home Free.. You seem to appreciate beautiful harmonies and great beatboxing so you will love Home Free. "The driver" is one of their newest songs and their cover of "Take me home country roads" is awesome. Don't get me wrong, Pentatonix got me into A capella music and I still love them, I am also glad that I discovered Home Free too.
recommend on my way home, la la latch, water, never gonna cry again.
I really hope you follow the rabbit hole and become yet another ‘Pentaholic’. 😬 You MUST do - The Sound of Silence - Bohemian Rhapsody (yes they actually pull it off!) - Hallelujah amongst many many others…
Since you have now encountered a cappella and in prior PTX reaction you mentioned Boys to Men multiple times.....It is time for you to checkout Home Free a cappella cover of End of the Road ! Then you can check their take on Ring of Fire (featuring Avi Kaplan - the bass in PTX you were impressed by). Home Free won the Sing Off like PTX and once you listen to those you can begin a long journey with Home Free!
Recommend their My Favorite Things.
React to more ptx
They didn't even have Ari the bass mic'd properly, he's so much more impressive.
Do you play the music videos at a slightly slower speed, as this is definitely slower than the original?
There are a ton of things one can do to keep their content from getting blocked. Now...I don't know if it was intentional, but adjusting the audio is a bad way to go. You slow it down and it is difficult for a Pentaholic to listen to it.
It might be better to listen through the song before commenting.
