Thing is most singers today want to sell to the younger audience, they don't try to sing anymore. Because the computer sings for them, and they think that draws people in, the only reason they play that on the radio stations is because, radio stations get paid to play there "music" I live in Kentucky and we only have one good country station here in pulaski, it plays 50's to early 90's. The major audience of the day now is younger but take time to make real music and you'll get more than what you asked for.

Funny thing is that for me, watching him appreciate it so much makes me realize how amazing it is. The song is great, but I didn’t realize how spectacular his voice was. Crazy

I have to say, as I watched this, I was brought to tears. As a kid, my father used to play Kenny Rogers all of the time. This was his song to my mother. I lost my brother unexpectedly at 46 years old on Christmas Eve of 2015. We used to always sing along with Kenny. Now, as I type this, my father does not have a lot of time left. Seeing you, someone who has never heard of Kenny Rogers, love it as you did, brought me to tears. I’m glad you saw what so many others of us have known for years. He was simply amazing!! I’m old enough to be your mother, but I’m subscribing to your page. Thanks again for bringing up some great memories for me.

I loved Kenny Rogers and Lionel Richie growing up. This was one of my favorite songs of theirs. Listening to Kenny sing and watching your reaction touched my heart. 😭😪🤧
Lionel Richie wrote this song for Kenny and this song is one of his biggest hits of his career. Lionel was a song writer for many different artists throughout the years, like Prince was. I thought it interesting that people who had a problem with Beyoncé doing a country song and showed up at the CMA's 50th anniversary special to play it, were the ones saying she had no business being there because she wasn't a country artist....but a lot of their legendary faves wouldn't have had their hits if it wasn't for the influence of black artists and writers. They don't know their history. Lionel was right where he belonged....everywhere. He had a gift for song writing. Some of his Commodores songs sounded country.
@BrendaBodwin
4 жыл бұрын
This was his one of his top songs, well AFTER Kenny was already very famous. Its was his 6th most popular song behind his top 5 most popular hits, which KENNY wrote. I love Lionel, but, he doesn't get credit for Kenny's fame. Kenny did that on his own. He did help Lionel go solo when he had him sing with him on his TV special as Lionel Richy, not as a Commadore, and helped launch Lionel's solo career. I watched that show. Remember it well. They sang Hello for the first time ever. Both released it. Both hit #1 in different genre's. Both sounded the same to me. I believe Lionel wrote Hello too. ❤️

liberty jewel Kenny Rogers is my ultimate favorite!
I love Kenny Rogers!!! One of the best voices ever!!! One of my favorites is "All my life"
Check out "She Believes In Me" by Kenny. We lost Kenny about a month ago, sadly. I think he was 81. He had been in seriously ill health for a while. In the 70s and 80s he had a string of huge hits in both country and pop: "The Gambler", "Coward Of The County", "Islands In The Stream" (with Dolly Parton), "Ruby, Don't Take Your Love To Town", and a bunch more. And yes, the rasp was Kenny's trademark...
SO Beautiful!❤️🥰❤️ The Incomparable Kenny Rogers singing and musical genius lyricist and vocalist, Lionel Ritchies most Beautiful Ballad!
Kenny Rogers is an amazing singer - and yes, Lionel Richie wrote this song for Kenny Rogers. They’ve sung it together many times.
Kenny has some awesome songs. Yes he has a beautiful voice. One of the great artists of his time. The Gambler is a favorite.
"This man's singing by god!" Lmao I love it lol
