I don't want to spoil the story, so all I can say is Firefly (girl in picture) brings you on a date. Discusses some of her dreams and reveals she is terminally ill. Think SAO Yuuki. So yes it is a both heartbreaking yet special moment in HSR. Something you need to see for yourself to understand.

Can’t listen to this song without getting choked up. It’s so beautiful. And yes it is a character in the game singing this, a well known singer in universe.

@@ldragodestroy4 and that's where you're wrong. if you think a character like her, we know nothing about her, she basically overthanked us when the old guy is the one who saved her, gallger something, by forcing herself as our tour guide out of nowhere despite being a stowaway. Her robotic action appeals to sympathy, by the book behavior and generic, and shtty "ppl dream in penacony because they want to dream" line, into a cheesy selfie and TB overreacting by her death when we barely know each other for like an hour. thats like inviting me to mcdonald and saying some stupid sht like, "we're here in mcdonald to eat mcdonald junk food. Ain't that deep?", and then idk, the guy dies from diabetes or something lmao. like, are you for real? there's much better death out there than this. FF death is literally tingyun but with more pointless talking.

Honestly to me, its always in this game felt like March and DH are best friends, and we're their mutual friend. Not a best friend. In the short time to get to know Firefly, its honestly felt like we kind of became best friends despite such little knowledge of each other. Granted - we still have yet to see the rest of Penacony's story unfold. They did a great job making most people care about this character right from the get go.

nah, this music actually did a better job than her entire interaction with the mc tbh. Shes overrated af for a forgettable character pretending like we've actually met longer than an hour in-game. The whole setup made it look like we've met her since v1.0 but shes just a random character with no background explained xD. not gonna lie, firefly got carried by this music for the 99% of the reasons as to why ppl are so pretentiously obsessed with her on the internet. yall are pretending too hard. the old dude was literally the one that saved her, we legit did nothing, and she felt the need to be our guide forcibly. To be honest, the whole setup with us fighting one of the authority figures from the family and expecting to go off unscathed fighting them for the entire express' reputation, and of trailblazer's own, within and outside of the dream is already terrible writing on the writer's part. And the whole setup was so predictable and generic, Firefly was so cringe with how generic she acted in all conversation. Her "people dream in penacony coz they want to", like yeah, no sht. If I go to a restaurant I stayed there for the food as well and shes talking like shes a prophet lmao. It ain't deep. the dialogue is too pretentious. If not for the random old dude coming to stop us from going too far, Firefly was confirmed to be the stowaway by Sunday at the end like he knew, like... we would've been in jailed for the entire penacony story if not for him until somebody bail us out. best girl? more like you guys are falling for a generic writing style and overreacting to it because Firefly looks attractive. only her and the music are aesthetically pleasing, the writing isn't it. Plenty of people who are in their right mind didn't gave a sht about her death since it was so random and firefly was technically a nobody atm lmao. the writing getting carried by the music. how embarrassing when the writer only know how to write fake and easy relationships xD

And yes, it was played during a couple of strong scenes in game. The story is super interesting, it's like you're not playing a game but watching a great anime with large variety of themes.

the majority of us heard this song for the first time while playing through the game. It is a pretty song, but with context, will make it one of the most compelling songs you've heard in a minute. It would take a while to get to this point in the story if you played through, but would hit you like a ton of bricks.

I finished the 2.0 story quest over the weekend and I'm still thinking about it and this song. I lay down and cried a little after hearing this in a certain scene.

I cry a lot in the game in this moment, 20% for the story 80% from the song..... (You should listen "something unto death" and "SAM" theme, they are not emotional but absolute banger)

This song continues to break me.. So glad you did a reaction to this one so soon!! Star rail being the newest game it’s a smaller “rabbit hole” than when we started down Genshin and Honkai Impact 3rd. We have Zenless Zone Zero coming out from Hoyoverse next. So we can learn from our mistakes this time 😋

Like other comments said, the "Something Unto Death" boss theme (Return of None, I think is the name) is a mandatory listen. Crazy track, my favorite in the game

Hey just came here from watching your Inazuma reaction video and I saw that segment where you were asking if orchestral players actually needed the conductor seeing how none of the players are actually looking at them and then you brought up how people say you can’t drive a car without a driver and that’s how the conductor keeps it all together - however, I think it’s more accurate to say that the conductor is more like your speedometer. When you’re driving you don’t stare at the speedometer every single moment to see how fast you’re going. Once you have enough driving experience you can pretty much know how fast you’re going without looking at it too often - and I thinks that’s exactly how it feels like to orchestral players with how often they need to see the conductor. You’re right- they don’t stare at the conductor every moment - they’re staring at the sheet music just like how you need to pay attention to the road. But every now and then, you come across a speed change and you need to glance at your speedometer to adjust - or here’s another perspective; let’s say the conductor really wasn’t there and all players need to stay together without one. Well then in driving terms, that’s like having the possibility of one driver slowing down in front of you, then you slow down the person behind you, then they slow everybody else behind them then all of a sudden, traffic forms! You know you’re not supposed to be going that slow and that the speed limit is way higher but since you have no speedometer, there’s no way to actually have everybody speed up together! You’re just stuck in traffic because everybody THINKS they’re going the right speed or the “safe” speed - but that’s why you need the conductor - they tell the group when to speed up, slow down, play louder,accent a note, bring out a certain instrument’s sound, etc. While it looks like they’re just waving their arms, it’s like traffic signs; stop, yield, one way, pedestrian crossing ahead, they’re all signs - sheets of metal with images on them - but they all tell you something different - just like a conductor. Sorry I commented on this video, just had this analogy told to me by a band teacher once and I thought it’d help clear up things for you too! Cheers - also, thanks for your reaction!

The song canonically is sung by one of the characters in game, Robin (Unsure if it's the actual English VA who is singing, hopefully when Hoyo-Mix releases the track we'll know) and it is beautiful, even more so where it shows up in game The character on the left is Firefly, and she is wonderful As far as songs with lyrics, Star Rail doesn't have nearly as many as Honkai Impact, it does have some good tracks aside from that though

the person next to the trailblazer is firefly! i love her, she gave the trailblazer a tour around penacony and bought them food. she's an angel in my book, and also, finally a character whose clothing is not the same copy-pasted shoulder out miniskirt combo lol looking into more honkai star rail stuff would be nice! have you seen the video they put out for lunar new year, with guinaifen and sushang performing? even if you don't react to it, i think you should check it out! the animation was superb in that one.

honkai star rail is a very enjoyable experience for turn-based enjoyers and so far it has a pretty good story. The newest chapter has been incredible so far

Not only the song, the location where the music playes (without lyrics) is absolutely gorgeous. I took dozens of screenshots to get the best angle and variant of the sky (there are shooting stars constantly falling) and made it my desktop picture. Also planning to make a vertical version for the phone, Im so in love with the scene.

The animated shorts are amazing. I highly recommend checking it out.

As a Hi3 veteran who has completed part 1 of the story, I will recommend starting Honkai Star Rail, the story is still progressing and if you want you can complete it in a week and catchup to the current story, maybe if you want you can drag it to 14 days or more but that would be possible if you want to do other stuff on stream aswell and dedicate 30mins each day to HSR story if you want to do this this way which I doubt lol cuz the story keeps wanting you more lol see yah infuture when you play HSR :D

There is something called permanent events The rewards might be less due to the limited rewards. But you can still have a lot of gems just by playing all the events. Also another Quality of Life for the casuals is the Fate Atlas which is basically the story timeline, where you could keep track of the story. I is fr.

Without going into spoilers I just finished this chapter last night and all I can say is I CRIED LIKE A BABY. The character on the left is Firefly, the person this song is meant for. She’s introduced as a guide to a new city but as you go further you learn her story and I have yet to see ANYONE who doesn’t get attached to her and her story. We’re all hoping she’s in the next chapters of the game, because she’s amazing and we’ve only touched the surface of her story. (But we’re also worried because one of the writers for this story chapter is also the writer who caused the greatest tragedy in 3rd Impact, so we’re weary lol.) Also yes please play Star Rail! If you get past a certain stage you’re getting a free powerful character too. I’m sure the others and I would totally friend you also, lol.

The moment I heard (and got this song in game) I immediately put it as the song the plays on the titular Star Rail, the Astral Express. The Express is your base of operations and the closest thing to a hub in the game. The first time you hear this song you're finding out a characters motivation for their actions. Yes it's extremely sad and designed that way. You later hear an instrumental version of this song after a major moment for that character. No spoilers but it's heartbreaking.

This is the first song since Wildfire in 1.0 that's been fully vocalized and recordes to be it's own track. And it's supposed to be a recorded track by an in game Idol so it's as real as one can get.

Theres an instrumental version thats even more melancholic but beautiful too, which plays after a few events happen, as long as you dont leave the area for a bit.

Do expect that every new planet released in HSR, there will be at least one vocal theme of the planet: Herta Space Station - Take the Journey Jarilo-VI - Wildfire Xianzhou Luofu - Samudrartha Penacony - If I Can Stop One Heart From Breaking

this song hits very very hard in the game, holy s*it i cried 🤣🤣 Of the 3 games that have hoyoverse, the most friendlys for new players are star rail and honkai impact. And for you i think you will enjoy more star rail. Impact is very good to, but it's a hack and slash game very frenetic. And have the problem that the menus and movility is a little rusty bcs is an old game, maybe when the part 2 come out at 29 of this month, the game will be full reworked with a huge update and then will be a lot more easyer for new players

I feel like Honkai Star Rail is probably the easiest to consume in a casual way between Genshin, HI3rd, and Star Rail. Plus if you start Star Rail now, you will get that 5 star Dr. Ratio completely for free. He is a special gift for players for HSR winning so many VG awards this last year.

Okay, I have to say it. Honkai Impact is forever in my heart. Despite of this, if you do want to play one or the other, I'd recommend starting Star Rail. It's nowhere near as time-consuming as HI3 and it's not hard to catch up to. Besides, right now you can get a free limited 5* character (the offer expires in two months, if I remember correctly) and we are slowly approaching the first anniversary, which is at the end of April. Then again, skipping some free stuff isn't that big of a deal. Just FYI. As for OST recommendations... My favourite track as of now is Halfway House. It's not a song, it's just a pretty BGM.
