The phone call with his dad at the beginning was on July 28, 2013 and his father passed in September 2013 so he never got to see his son's accomplishment. Makes me cry every time I see it.

I’m learning to drive. I know I’ll have my own moment. Grandpa was a role model to me. Visiting his grave on my own will be emotional. Then there’s mom. The darkness had a death grip on my heart. I haven’t felt LOVE in years. Everytime I came close it was rebuked in some way. I was used to being alone. Hell I was comfortable with it. Then SHE showed up. Hearing her little man sick...coughing...in pain...that ice started melting. I started feeling again. I found someone I cared about other than just me. I found someone I wanted to continue to get to know. Someone I genuinely cared about. I have no doubt mama sent her. Someone who finally showed me real love. I’m still scared of this love. But I’m open to it. Grandpa passing was the last straw, I saw the worse in People & people got a glimpse how sadistic I can be.

Cole wrote this song to honor his father. The opening scene of the music video is Cole talking with his Dad about the signing of his first record deal. If you notice the dates, July of 2013. Cole's Dad passed September 2nd of 2013. His father was working on a truck when that truck fell from a lift killing him. The scene of Cole at the cemetery was the first time of him returning to his father's grave since his funeral.

Same with me. Don’t get me wrong I love my parents. Grandpa & I just connected on a whole nother level. He was my confidant, someone I loved & trusted. I learned so much from him. I wish he was still here so I could say thank you. I used to hate showing any emotion but our last talk. Him saying he had 2-3 weeks left. I broke down. I remember him saying he knows I never got closure with dad but he loved me enough he wanted me to have closure with him. But I achieved a dream and stepped into a wrestling ring. My whole family knows I love wrestling. I wish I could tell him about it. I finally got my drivers license like I promised him. Now I plan on visiting his grave and that’s going to be hard.
