First Quarter Mile Passes in my Hellion Twin Turbo Mustang.. It's Insane!

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

I finally get the chance to run my Hellion Twin Turbo Mustang down the quarter mile at a private event held in Ennis TX. Not everything went to plan to but it was fun night of racing and learning. What time do you think the car ran?

    Nice build! Looks like your making plenty of power. But now is the time to invest in some suspension components. You could probably shave off a easy .7 to .9 in E.T. By dropping that 60 to a 1.4x Best way to do that is viking coilovers up front, viking dbl adjustable shocks in the rear and a ton of BMR suspension. Don’t forget the transbrake and msd 2 step and converter those are major pieces of this puzzle as well. You definatly have enough power to get a 8.9 to 9.1 in the 1/4

    Pretty damn impressive! As far as increasing your traction and getting out of the hole better, is it a tire pressure or too long/short a burnout issue that you haven't quite nailed with the Stang? Also, approaching that 150mph mark, have you upgraded the brake pads and what brakes does that have? Standard or Brembo?

  • @RacerX9

    @RacerX9

    2 жыл бұрын

    Its coming out of the hole quite well.. it spun on the 1-2 because it shifted so hard in drag mode.. I might do better with slightly less tire pressure but that was the first time it broke loose .. of course you always want to run as much pressure as you can without spinning to maintain trap speed so its a fine line. The brakes are standard 4 piston Brembo's but they seem to be getting it done for the moment. Much appreciate my friend

  • @kooldawg6

    @kooldawg6

    2 жыл бұрын

    @@RacerX9 No doubt the pressure tuning is a fine line between traction and top end speed! I have very limited drag racing experience when I had my 12.9x '06 Mustang GT about 10 years ago. It was very easy to drive as I just heated up the drag radials at I believe 18-20ish psi and hammered down when the light went green. Kinda slow, but still a ton of fun! I couldn't even imagine how much track time I'd need to try and dial something in like your setup! Keep up the great work and I always look forward to your future videos!

    It depends on how much power you want to make. If you stay on 93 octane you can still make good power and you don't have to change out your fuel system. I had to change the entire fuel system and injectors to run big power later on E85. Also suspension and driveline will need to be upgraded if you plan to track it with the additional power.

    You just need to figure out how to get the car to leave on boost. Like having to 2 step on it. Then it would be in the 9.70's

    Try launching in 2nd gear. I'm only about 680 wheel and it helps my car hook up! My car isn't a turbo car so I'm not sure if 2nd gear will help you. Love the content and the car keep it up!

    Still an insane car man! Can’t wait to see that car cut a good 60 foot. Glad to see you keep your head up. I had a similar accident back in 2020. I had a 2018 ZL1 and someone pulled out in front of me and totaled the car. So I ended up getting a 10 speed mustang.

    @@RacerX9 my kona blue 2020 Mustang GT on E85 with ET Street R s with a stock 10 speed, ran a 1.745 60ft Time and 11.39 at 123. Looks like your car was really soft launching for some reason or spinning, however tremendous mph. Looks like it should be able to run right down into the mid-9s as long as the transmission holds up. Good luck with your journey

    That’s awesome. I recently got rid on my Scat, and I’m seriously looking at purchasing a Mustang (has to be an A10). It looks like you can boost them, without dumping tons of money into the engine first. That’s the reason I got rid of my Challenger.

  • @RacerX9

    Slower ET big way faster MPH.. the hellcat was really fast in the 60" .. The Hellcat would have been running 9.60 at maybe 144mph .. the stang probably would have run around 9.90 @ 152 or so if I hadn't spun based on the data
