Hellion Twin Turbo Kit - 40,000 Mile Review! Is it worth it?

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

I give you my thoughts on my Hellion Twin Turbo Sleeper kit after daily driving it for 40,000 miles. Can a car that makes more than double the horsepower of a stock Mustang GT still be a good daily driver? I will give you both the pros and cons of driving this monster and tell you if I think it's worth it.

I slapped an ON3 single, ID1050's, VMP BAP, swapped the wastegates to Tials...and went on to put down 740whp with ease on low boost. Out the door with dyno time and tuning for roughly $10K.

Great video, Bro! I love your Mustang, but for me the build you have is a "no" for a few reasons. One reason is the price. Another reason is that I don't track my ride like you do. All that extra power is good for is bragging rights at a high price because I won't be able to use most of it on the street unless I like spending quality time warming a jail cell. Heck, I can't use most of my hp on the street and it's a lot less than yours. I slightly modded Black Beauty to set her apart from the crowd and to improve upon the stock configuration. When I need a track day, I have access to a Ferrari from time to time. 😁

That nets 845whp, then Anderson Composite carbon fiber hood and rear wing, k bar and rear seat delete saved 115lbs plus 305s front and 315s rear. Super reliable can be daily driven and punches way above its weight for 23k including install and it looks clean to.

Your Mustang is a fantastic set up and obviously durable. Just wondering if your running 3.15 or 3.55 gears. During weekend bracket racing this past summer. I watched small tire streetable turbo Coyote Mustangs launch at high RPMs with their front wheels off the ground. I haven't a clue what interior engine mods these Mustangs have, but a stock Coyote's redline is 7000 RPMs compared to a stock Scat Packs 6000 with a electronic limiter of 6400. The new Gen 4 Coyote RPM limit increases to 7500. Final question. Have you ever visited Palm Beach with your Stang. I see Rob has started installing turbo kits on Mustangs like the GT350 and GT500. Great channel X.

you can tune gt500 and mustang gt to rev to 8k rpm. But all a coyote f150 and mustang gt need is boost and fuel. stock sealed coyotes have made as high as 1200whp and f150s have run 8s in the 1/4 and mustamg gt 7s in the 1/4 with sealed engine. No heads no cams no pistons no rods no opening the engine unless you want to go built motor which then you can make up to 2000hp on factory block. Thats why most chevy and dodge guys that drag race eventually go ford which is mind blowing to see. Even swaps LS guys are pulling their engines and going coyote. Ls guys and others are intimidated by the 4 cams 4 valves per cyl so they say they dont want it because of that and price that LS is cheaper. But by the time you buy a junkyard for $1500 then add cam heads pistons and rods for most your looking at 10k as high as 20k if you do it big which i would if opening it. But then boost and fuel system trans and holly ecu. Hellcats your looking at a lot of the same. Coyote you get started at 3500 to 7k for a good coyote factory computer no opening the engine just boost and fuel system and control pack and they will handle 950whp all day. sounds a lot easier than a whole tear down of a LS or hellcat or hemi. Hell boost coyote fuel system and lightweight fox mustang you have a 7 sec car. there is a reason you see coyote and LS swaps but no Hemi/hellcats swaps really

Take no offense my friend, Doug Parks, your question is hilarious to a logical mind. Is your mind logical? How can you know? Well where does logic begin? Zero, or One? Where were you begun? Is the day you're born your Birthday? Why can't you purchase that Birthday card? Why can't you answer? BECAUSE YOU ARE NOT CONSCIOUS, YOU ARE NOT CONSCIOUS. Are you alive in a year of your life every moment of your life? Yes? What year of your life are you in on day One? Make your Zero Birthday Card-0, and until you do- your Birth Certificate forms you as conscious as Frankenstein, alive with no age! Make your Zero Birthday card, because when you change your beginning, you change everything- even God. Everything that is, began, and until you consciously measure yourself as beginning day one year zero, you have not begun, you are fiction Pinocchio, and your ego has convinced you, you are real. You cannot be real without being logical, so put your Halo-0-on. How else can you be seen from above? Logic begins at Zero, and you weren't, so you could be controlled by nonsense-2022- forever. 2022 is not there, not when you look and measure what is there. Your 2022 has no comma, and you have no Zero Birthday card, and neither does Roman numerals have a comma or a Zero, which means a Roman over 2,000 years ago is telling you how far you can think. FYI-I just proved your entire existence is just another Star-Trek episode. nana nana

Just watched the video. I've got a 2019 GT Premium CS and have been considering after paying the car off to go either VMP Loki/Odin supercharged or a Hellion kit. I daily drive this and plan to afterwards. Currently I'm getting about 15mpg avg cause it's city driving and I put on average 200-500 miles a month on the car due to hybrid work schedule and close proximity to stores. Your comment about the undermount turbos getting hot has already turned me off of that kit but I know Hellion has a job sleeper kit. If you could do this all over again and we're in my situation would you just go VMP Loki/Odin or definitely stick with the Hellion?

As long as you buy the proper offset wheel set up and your alignment (including camber front and rear) is set properly you won't have rubbing issues. I should add as well that both cars have been lowered. The 2018 had Ford Performance springs and Magnaride and the 2020 has Steeda Sport springs but no Magnaride. I run 305/35 Drag Radials on another set of the same wheels for the rear and they don't rub either. It's all in the set up and alignment.

I have a Mach 1, 2022 I want to add more power to it, but I don’t want to get rid of the stock equipment of what makes the car a Mach vs a GT. Does that make sense? I want to add power but I don’t want to get rid of the stock air box, etc, is this possible?

You ever try the way stance cars do it at an angle or does it still catch? Why not bag the front end only?

This car is really meant for drag racing.. bagging the car only adds weight and doesnt really help the car unfortunately. For cars that run only on the street thats a solid option

How much did it cost? The kit , injectors? Install what else is needed to get it going besides a tune and a fuel pump, I ask because I may also purchase the Hellion kit for my 13 GT.

With Hellcats becoming more and more rare and soon so be gone completely, you should do a build with a 5.7 Charger or Challenger. Maybe some kind of sleeper build, to race cocky Hellcat owners. You could probably play dumb and get some easy wins

Would you do this to a 5.7 Challenger if you lived in CA? I'm currently in Ohio for work and I'll probably be here another year. I've been wanting the turbo over the superchargers that are available for at least a year now but now it's finally available to me.. I've never had someone look underneath the car during a smog check so idk

Have you done any engine or transmission work to make it to 40k miles? Or is it stock. From what I gather you said its still stock. Also its funny talking about gas mileage. My first car was a built trans am ws6 and it got an average of 12.5 mpg when I drove it like an average car. I once got an average of 6 mpg on a tank of gas
