I agree Racerx my 2018 is being put together now at Hellhorse Performance I'm around $23k into mine so far. TT kit 64/67, Fore triple pump fuel system, driveshaft, axles, clutches in trans and tuned by Tunemaker and I didn't even list whats already done to car like lockouts and wheels and tires etc.
Kid: I wanna go fast. Machinist: How much you got? Kid: Uhhhhh.... Machinist: For that, we can get you down into the high 17's.
Thank you so much for being honest about what is needed to build a reliably fast car. Too many people are selling smoke signals saying “ we did all this and made XXXX horsepower on the stock engine or bottom end and give people unrealistic expectations for what is required and end up blowing their engine or worse. Good to see it straight from the horse’s mouth 💪🏾🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🔥🔥🔥👍🏿
Best guy on KZread!! Honest and to the point. Appreciate you RacerX. Cant wait for track times. I remember someone telling me a long, long time ago..... Cheap...Fast....Reliable Pick 2 lol You can be cheap and fast but you won't be reliable. You can be cheap and reliable but you wont be fast. And you can always be fast and reliable, but it won't be cheap!!!!!!!!!
If it was cheap and easy everyone would do it. Awesome build RacerX! Congrats.
Thanks for your transparency X! Can’t wait to see this build develop.
Loving this build! The 5.0 package is a great platform to make big reliable power! Car is beautiful and is wicked fast! It's cool seeing how much fun your enjoying it!
Great video. Really puts a realistic perspective into play. I like how you display patience with the build and enjoy each step. Sometimes car folks, myself included get thinking to far ahead. Sometimes you just have to step back, look at your ride and say "damn that car looks good". Consider doing a video on choosing the right shop to do business with. Around me there are maybe a half dozen performance shops. They all want business I'm sure. What builds your confidence in a shop? As always great content. One of the best.
Appreciate the honesty and numbers RacerX . Cannot wait to see that thing race!
"Speed is expensive." Truer words have never been spoken! Great info as always X.
Great video, Really great way to explain how H.P. builds go, no matter what make or what form of power adders , to get serious H.P. and do it correctly for it to hold together if you want to play, you must pay. Even though I follow car builds to see what they do, I know what I have and what I can afford. I hope this sheds the light on this topic. Thanks Racer X.
Awesome video... Great energy and passion. Thank you for your time and content. RacerX FTW!
Keep it real RACER X. Love the Vlogs and truth on this platform. 👊
Great Vid! Your being honest it’s a lot of money to build these cars can’t wait to see more of your build
Thanks bud good knowledge this is exactly what I was looking for. Not many tell you how much they cost because of sponsorships which leave us without real knowledge on how much with all extras so thanks man.

Glad you set the record straight. The internet definitely lies! People that go down this route get bothered when you tell them the truth about how much money they will spend. Its a long process. Things will break, and there will be delays. Nothing ever works 100% of the time in the beginning. You gotta be patient and get things dialed in. It's as simple as that. 🤭
You have quickly became my favorite car channel, do you plan on making any videos on how to do tunning? New to this whole thing and I feel like you would explain things to where it would be easy to understand.
Approximately 85% HP at the wheels compared to at the crank, and usually HP numbers are quoted at the crank. I had a full-on Vortech Supercharger install on a 2002 Mustang GT convertible. Those GT’s came stock at around 200 HP (crank) less than the GT’s nowadays. When it was completed I ended up with around 460 HP (crank). The GT’s today are amazing at stock, and so much can be done with them. It is very cool to watch you doing the upgrades to your car (s). It kind of reminds me of what I went through, but you most definitely are going that extra mile (or two, or three).😊. Sorry that you are having to go through it all again with your new red Mustang, but the process is definitely fun for a car guy! It
Great video as usual! Can't wait to see more of this beast!

Thanks for the great information. Im looking to do a twin turbo setup for my 6.4 hemi after I get the engine built.
You are totally right spend your money wisely and intelligently it is so addictive going faster. Also do choose a reputable speed shop for a rebuild short block, RPG speed shop ect.. can’t wait for you to make a pass at the track with a drag tire should be fun.👍👏💪🔥

Another awesome video RacerX. Now, how is this build going to affect your daily driveability and engine reliability ?
So for under 60k USA dollars including the MSRP of the car you can essentially make GT500/ Hellcat power. Sounds like a great way to go for those with the cash on hand. Stage 1 would be very interesting, prices get real crazy beyond that
$25k is about what I spent on my 06 subby sti many years ago. Included built block and heads, turbo upgrades with supporting mods, upgraded axles and drive shafts. Yea it gets expensive. I'm gonna eventually get a new mustang and get the base hellion kit. I'll be more than happy with that.
Quite honestly sounds like a lot of darn money in comparison to what you put into your Hemi
I think another relevant question to ask is how long will that engine last after you go twin turbo.

Don't be silly... Do more than "regular" maintenance... With big power requires great responsibility. Should go 100,000 miles +++ -------And still pull high 10s-------
Man I went through a terrible last 5 years, ending up in hospice. I moved 1500 miles away to Irving texas. I'm getting healed quickly and can't wait to get back to enjoying life,I'm 39 with a 12 year old. Your videos are amazing, I was initially looking at challengers. Now I'm thinking about the mustang gt. Where is the best place to buy one with cash? Looking to buy around June
Yea a lot of people think you just buy a cheap kit and install it there self or someone that can “do it cheaper” and at the end engine failure or you break something every time you go out
My stock 392 is just fine for me. That’s a lot of money!!

I like the money conversation. These cars, that anyone can buy. Are faster than a fuel car 30yrs ago. Look what they spent then. Coyotes are amazing. I just learned about them after being a LS fan. They stomp an LS. The car is going to be a monster.

Yes it's an expensive hobby for sure
When i saw your first price list I was gonna call you out, then you totally redeemed yourself! This is a very honest look into what a real installation will cost if you want to make big power.
Need a tuned exhaust, just going bigger doesn’t really cut it. Ball bearings are the way to go though. Always consider alcohol or alcohol nitromethane air intake injection for cooling and anti detonation.
In Australia the helion kit is $25k just to buy. Then you have all the other costs.
Great job! I'm thinking stay wity natural aspiration. Camaro SS, new cam, headers, intake and 390 rear end gears. Way cheaper and still fast.
ATTN Racer X: FYI, Moto Guzzi must have heard of you, and rushed to dedicate a bike in your honor. And why not? Namely, the "V7 III Racer X Anniversary 750." Nothing wrong with that. Check it out! They've always been pretty cool bikes. Keep up the good work.
Idk why this made me laugh but space shuttle numbers is what I’m looking for! Lol. When’s that video come out? 😉
I thought about this set up. The cost is what killed me. Saved up and went with a Roush supercharger instead.
I’m gonna be looking to buy either a challenger R/T, ecoboost, or GT soon and I hope I can come out to Clay Cooley out in Irving to shop.
