I have one of these - and it's a great bike in the real world. The faults you mention are fair comment - dodgy mirrors, warm exhaust, low tickover etc... But none of them are showstoppers and somehow, I've adapted my leg position so the heat is no longer a problem. I wouldn't want this as my only bike, but as a second bike, it's great. Thanks for the video.

Nice video Richie. I short-listed the Scrambler when searching for an ADV bike, but two things put me off: - Exhaust - I can't imaging the heat from that in the Australian summer when you are slowly navigating a bush track. It was interesting to hear your comments about exhaust pipe heat. - Tank size - Settled on the T700

It's a lovely looking bike. The exhaust problem reminds me of my old Buell XB12-R. That burned a hole through my baggy-ish trousers when they rested against it on a 4 mile journey. When I wore my leather trousers it was just uncomfortable but no more, even when I took it to the Nurburgring. This bike does look like it's been ridden through an aftermarket parts catalogue though having said that! Bit busy for my liking, it might well look nicer with less stuff on it.

I bought one in June this year, its a great bike and looks the part,I got rid of the Mickey mouse mirrors and put bar end on instead, its good for a good 70 to 80 mile run in comfort providing you dont get to blown about on the faster roads. To be honest as the other comments the exhaust is a pain literally in the leg,it gets very hot Indeed so you do need your thicker pants on rather than the jeans. It's a 90 b.h.p. and all the punch is at the bottom end great for Sunday afternoon jaunts but I prefer my Ninja for all the longer rides,of course they are to different bikes. I might put it in for the Africa twin at some point

I would be genuinely interested in one of these (the shorter one) if it wasn't for the exhaust. I had a Harley XR1200X as a second bike some years ago with a V&H on it and even with exhaust wrap (which I don't like but was essential) it would burn my leg and was pretty much unrideable on hot days. A great bike but that was one of the reasons I sold it on. Trying to do 400 miles a day crossing continents on this in the summer would be very uncomfortable I imagine. A shame, as they really appeal otherwise.

I rode one a while back and really liked it. Suited my 6ft 3" frame and could flat foot it. I nearly bought one but one or two things put me off. Seat comfort, was too narrow for me. Keyless, just hate the faf at petrol stations and the tech has let me down previously. The clocks; info is just too small for an old guy like me. The engine is awesome with so much grunt and to be honest the exhaust didn't bother me.

@@brianmcbain6997 of course it isn't, its a complete gimmick. Arrive at the filling station with gloved hands trying to remember which pocket the key is in. Dig it out to open the filler. If the key is in an ignition it's there in front of you. I've had keyless in a Multistrada, I had one occasion where the electric steering lock left me stranded and another occation where the key wasn't recognised. I also had a loan Triumph where the key wasn't recognised. Perhaps if the filler cap was keyless then perhaps it would make sense but I'm not interested in it. Keyless is just adding cost and unreliability.

The exhaust heat doesn't appear right. Pretty sure some older Tigers had exhaust heat issues which turned out to be production line faults in that the pipe joins were not pushed into each other far enough so were not correctly seated, making the clamp ineffective. Hot exhaust gas was then leaking directly onto riders leg. Could be the issue as that much heat should not be affecting the rider like this in very low temps. But then the new BMW cruiser has heat issues exhaust side causing new owners to mod the heat shields... 🤔

Daft question from Mr Hobbit legs. I noticed you standing on the pegs to get on the bike. I've never done that in 35 years of biking...is that a thing? Seriously, it might solve some of my short arse problems. Is it OK for a lard arse like me to use the same technique...anyone? Like the video. Looks like a CL77 on steroids

This bike is a strange one for me, to be honest as a design I don’t like it as much as the smaller Triumph scrambler. It’s sort of got it’s own sector along with the Big Ducati scrambler which I prefer. Not cheap either for looking like James Bond

Lockdown 2.0 has been an absolute shambles anyway. How can you have a lockdown and leave the schools open when it was the schools reopening that spiked the 2nd wave... No point in making snarky remarks when no one can figure out what the supposed rules are when this government couldn't organise a piss up in a brewery.

You'd think the 'quality' manufacturers would so something about heat from exhausts. Even Zontes has, now, got a 'cool touch' exhaust system on their bikes now. Meaning you can grab hold of the exhaust with your bare hand after it's been running. Obviously. not the headers, but as far as I can see the rest of it is double skinned.
