@@unholydriver4987 I have to disagree. Music was good in the 70's but it wasn't there yet. The fruit really became ripe in the 80's and lasted through the 90's and very early 2000's but it then went downhill. The only good bands we have these days were actually around in those golden days.

@@Trygvar13 in terms of rock n roll i’ve always viewed the 80s as the start of the rock downfall. once rock became glam and started mixing with pop music you knew things were coming to an end. that’s why grunge is considered the movement that kicked rock back into gear. nothing tops the first wave of classic rock late 60s early 70s. don’t get me wrong the 80s were fun but the music had no substance all people cared about was getting hits and making catchy music with not much substance. every hair metal song is about women and drugs and pretty much all hair bands are derivative of each other and sound the same. and again i’m speaking very generally abt the decade. I know some bands like Rush where some of their greatest material is in the 80s. but overall i think 70s, in terms of songwriting, was just better. maybe it’s because of the era, a war had just ended, but even the pop music in 70s like disco has more substance than glam bands

The 80's was a BLAST! I can't speak for other genres, but rock was decadent as hell. It was sweet. This is my favorite Whitesnake song, hopefully you get to check out more. David Coverdale is horribly underrated. I feel like a lot of people couldn't get past his image and actually hear him. Incredible vocalist and songwriter.

Alright!! Some Whitesnake!! It was 1987, I was in Junior High, Moss Landing Middle School. I was 12 years old, only really listened to Top 40/Pop Radio, loved me some Debbie Gibson at the time. Then this video hit MTV, and I was like, okay now!! Then they dropped Here I Go Again, (definitely check that one out next), and I was hooked, bought the album and began my journey to eventual Metalhead!! To this day, I'm convinced that I married a redhead because of my adolescent crush on Tawny Kitaen RIP...

I was a young adult in the 80's and just worked out and partied and my focus was on rock and chicks. It was fun and crazy. Obviously Whitesnake's guitarist took notes from Jimmy Page with the violin bow on guitar and curious how Coverdale did a project with Page later in kind of a lukewarm collaboration. Still of the Night was a tune you just had to turn up. I think the chick in the video was Tawny Kitaen, his short term wife who "made the rounds" in the music scene... in her prime she was a hot commodity.
