@@marcoroamsI think it's more like nobody wants to take responsibility with dealing with that place. It's likely it's one of those old apartment on leasehold land deed that has not expired yet. The city could buy the place and build a new building, but the land owner likely charged a crazy huge amount of money. So i imagine the city council is just waiting for the leasehold to run out and refuse to extend it like what they did to Bukit Bintang Girl's School.

10:30 Most of the people you're seeing of South Asian appearance are Bangladeshis. The Malaysian Government was concerned over Chinese Malaysian (mostly Buddhist and Chinese religions) and Tamil (mostly Hindu) populations decreasing the percentage of Muslims in Malaysia, so the Malaysian Government eased restrictions on immigrants from Islamic countries, one of the countries being Bangladesh. In Malaysia, the local Malays control governement while the Chinese control finance. Malaysia is an awesome country with great people and amazing food. Enjoy!

You literally stay nearby my neighbourhood. If you walk straight ahead further from the MOV hotel you'll find Bukit Ceylon, an affluent area where most of the expats and some locals live. I'm Malay born and raised in KL and probably the few percentage of locals that live in the city center. My great grandparents owned a couple of land and properties at Bukit Ceylon and our family are native to KL. You can even find a piece of land that belongs to the royal House of Pahang in this area. To be fair, the rundown area in Bukit Bintang worth millions and the owners are just waiting for the right time and price to sell their land. Most of the people you saw in that area are migrant workers working in constructions and 3D sector. The homeless are a mixed of local Malaysians and overstayed migrant workers while beggars are Rohingya from Myanmar. The massage girls and workers at Jalan Alor street food mostly aren't Malaysians too.

Hahaha😂 funny the way you introduce your 1st day in KL. I don't know who is the Grab driver dropped u at the abandoned squattered building which is very not touristy n should be well closed. Pitty you. And yes that area mostly filled with asians foreigners and some middle easterns too. At night it turns to be 'different' where many westerners flocking in. As local me myself never tried that indoor theme park.😅 Prefer genting Highlands instead which is just 45minutes from KL up in the peak of mountainous area of klang valley.

    # 3 when getting juice drinks do you trust the ice they use ? I will not take ice in any restaurant in Cebu unless it is a high end eatery. They may claim pure water for the drink, but the ice could be tap water. I only carry one bottle of Imodium on vacation, it has to last.
