Ruri, in my time at med school and now as a doctor, I have definitely experienced burnout from trying to be "too productive". It's so difficult because we all want to be the best version of ourselves - as medical students, we're surrounded by incredibly clever and motivated people so we think that being "more productive" is the only way to be the best, without considering.. "is this the best for my physical and mental health?" The most important thing is that we continue to enjoy the process and take care of our health, and sometimes that means taking our foot off the accelerator and take things slow, in order to remain productive *enough* while being physically and mentally better! Wow long comment, but I hope someone can relate! Sending my love Ruri, we're here for you as always! ❤️

This sounds so much like studying for becoming a teacher (in Germany). Doctors and teachers here, are the number one group of people in society suffering from burnout. In my opinion it came to this point because the curriculum requires us to produce more and more and be more productive and train students to be more productive too. Basically, pushing yourself and the curriculum further and further up to the limits of what is actually possible and would actually last. I always wanted to become a teacher BECAUSE I wanted them to not have to worry about over-productivity. But the capitalist society tells people otherwise to the point that students start becoming depressive and having burnout as early as high school.. when this is actually the time they don’t need to worry about life too much :( This all is what I have observed in my environment. I just hope that people realize that things that make us happy and bring us inner piece are not necessarily being lazy but not being perfectly “productive” either

I’m a first-year pharmacy student in Viet Nam. Although I’m just in the first year, it’s very stressful. Working in the lab, learning natural science from the beginning (yes, the knowledge in university is completely differrent from the primary knowledge in high school). Sometime I and my classmates are criticised by the lecturers. This may be one of the hardest time in my life.

It’s so easy to fall victim to comparison. You think you’re not good enough because you see others doing more than you so you push your self to the limit. Prioritizing Productivity can be very useful but you definitely have to find a balance. I’m so happy you’re focusing on your mental health ❤️ you inspire me to do the same ☺️🙏🏽

Because as previous year I plan a resolution this year too but as always my health is not in my fevar. I'm an introvert. I never had a true friend with I can share my emotions how I feel someone to hug someone more mature who can guide. Hey, I left med school as well last year and was a hikkikomori for 6 months (only finished first semester). It was an empty time for me. My peers and I were and continue to be burnt out because of the online classes, I couldn't move to the city of my med school, and I was not very prepared for anatomy. I'm happy with my choice. Some peers may become MDs in a few more years (and I'm not sure how quality they will be due to online classes). I ended up using my backup pharmacy degree and I will start work and try adult life for now--learn to drive, learn languages, make my first income. I had to quit social media because seeing my old peers achieving the MD dream was so toxic for me--I was becoming so envious and despairing, when I wanted to be happy for them. So I've been there sister. Just gotta take things one step at a time. You inspire me and I hope to make my own videos ( I will comment the channel name one day ). You've done so so so much already...give yourself a breather. At least we both have had a taste and we can use our shortcomings now to one day succeed in becoming future doctors. And it's really a thing you want to do when you feel like settling in one place for a long time. Plus having money that will compound during residency is a plus. So take the time and you will find better reasons to pursue again when you are ready... I believe in you, and I believe in me. Trust and be patient... even if it's hard. We will make it. God has his reasons and we will be better humans and doctors for our patients because of this. All my love.

I discovered your channel because for some reason youtube knew that I was feeling like shit. It's trully motivational how can you sort your feelings and extract the best out of it even if they're bad ones. I was (in truth I am) feeling pretty anxious and lost because (I'm 25 btw) just finished college, can't get a job and I'm short on cash. I'm basically "lost in life". Watching your videos made me sort my feelings too and I'm feeling a lot better and motivated to start studying something new or do something I like! Keep doing this amazing work!

Hi, Ruri!!🌼 While u were talking about productivity and life, and while thinking about my own experiences... I believe that it's important to be disciplined and organized to be productive enough during the day or week; however, the importance to enjoy the present moment, the water of the shower we take, the air we breathe and the smile of the people gives us the meaning of what we perform in the day in those the busy hours we have. Being mindful of today, knowing that I can trust life to keep going, believing in the power of myself, and trusting that things change for the better are mantras that I constantly repeat in my mind (my heart). There are tons of things to do, yes, but we can go through all of that. Something I need to remind myself a lot is not to compare my life with others that are ''successful, I'm walking my own path and the only thing I need to look back is my old self. To see my own progress. oh!! Btw, about the editing..... well, I don't know much about it but I loved the way each video was linked with each word you were saying. For my perspective, I really love the video. Keep it up! Sorry for the long comment🙏 Biiig hugs from Colombia!!! 💙

Hey Ruri, love your videos. One thing that you could consider, as basic as it sounds is looking at what you have to do for the day ant putting the hardest tasks first, in the morning that way even if you have some tasks left at the end of the day you can just leave them for tomorrow and start off from them the next day, I understand that might not be sustainable for you though, having a packed schedule every other day.

We live in a society where we compete so vigorously that we forget to rest and take breaks. There will always be people better and worse than us in all aspects of life ... but there is only one thing that makes us unique ... our own experience and the way we express our emotions... You are admirable 👍

i have had a self press to make my 24 hours more productive. Sometimes my desire (to always make things good, always make efficient result) is helpful for me. But most of case, i think, it was so harmful making me not allow myself from everything and eventually hate myself. Your video and comments on the video not just comfort me but also teach me that the time relaxing, doing my favorite things is also very effective time for me to charge myself refreshingly and make hours after that more effective. Thank you so much for making this kind of video and i'll support you.

My dear friend, to keep from feeling defeated by those who have made fun of you in the past, remember that no one can take away your uniqueness or your beauty. You are a talented and worthy person, and you matter so much. Right now you may feel down on yourself; get up, go forward, and start doing what makes you happy. You are the best! Believe in yourself, because you deserve it! I Believe In You, Love From A Small KZreadr

youtube cant is more helpful than this. I can't imagine how specifically this video was recommended to me. I woke up in the middle of midnight, I was angry at myself for not being productive and lazy all the time, I kept thinking that and couldn't sleep. I thought of opening my laptop and searching for some time management techniques. I didn't even type anything and this video was on my front page.
