Amazon prices suck ass

I have just one of these FIRMAN 2000w generator, I have their 8000 watts dual fuel. FIRMAN makes good products

I bought one of these last month. It runs and works well. The one glaring weakness this model has, if you read the reviews, is the air intake is underneath, meaning it will suck up a lot of dirt and debris, and possibly water, if it is placed directly on the ground. There were a lot of complaints about the air filter getting severely clogged. If you buy one, always make sure to put it on a board or concrete slab, never on dirt or sand or things of that sort, or you'll have issues. It would be nice if the air intake could be relocated to the side- probably possible, but would take some effort, and would likely void the warranty.

Is it really that quite? How many decibels in eco mode? Eco mode is quiter right?

They recommend shutting the choke after the first pull and 3 subsequent pulls to avoid flooding the engine that’s why it started after the choke was closed

The reason why it didn't start after the first pulls is that everytime you try to crank it to move the oil around slowly the fuel is also pumped, that's why it started without the choke on.

Seemed ultra quiet when you ran the drill. How was it while you stood there,same?. If yes, would be perfect for off grid camper van inmho. Do you know if it'll run a 1800 watt heater fan for winter?. Thanks m8 Cheers 😊

Yes it is a very quiet generator. However my drill probably pulls about 200-300 watts at the most. 1800 watts heater is 6x more than the drill, it will be louder but still not crazy loud. I would not recommend running 1800 watts continuously on this generator, I would recommend a larger generator. I think the next size is about 3500 like this Generac 3500: amzn.to/3NMfmF0

How old is the generator? how many run time hours? You probably want to check the air filter, change spark plug, and change its oil. Most generators require oil change every 20 - 30 running hours. And first oil change usually very short like the first 5 - 10 hours.

Would this run 8000 BTU AC ?

@Arshdeep Dhillon I just checked, most 8000 BTU Air Conditioner consumes 700 - 1000 watts at 110-120V. This Firman generator can accommodate peek 2000 watts and 1600 continuous running watts, so yes, I believe this Firman generator can run an 8000 BTU AC.

No I there is no 220-240V, it only outputs 110-120V

I bought this and tested it out a month after and it starts for a few minutes but shuts off. What could be the issue?

Could be your fuel shut off is off- that would allow enough fuel to run for a time and shut off. The fuel pump icon is next to the cut off side of the switch, which is confusing. To me, the off side looks like it should be the on side. Also, the float could be sticking. Mine did when it first arrived. I added some Marvel Mystery oil to the fuel, loosened the bowl's petcock and tapped the side of the bowl until fuel began to flow down the petcock tube. It started and ran reliably after that.

That is one nice generator for only $350 bucks?!? what?

You may not think so if you need warrantee repairs.. should have bought a predator, with Harbor's no questions asked warrantee. bring it in, they hand you a brand new one. BEAT THAT!

@@FXNorm Right now you can buy a refurbished unit on ebay for $239. I bought one, and it is just like new, even shipped in the original packaging, runs well. At that price, you can buy 2 Firman generators for less than the price of 1 Predator of the same size. Or you can buy 4 for less than the price of a new Honda EU2200.

Mine came with oil in it 🤔
