And that's what great about it, it's an underdog. It's a perfect game without any recognition and guess what? it doesn't need recognition, it's great the way it is. Battlefield and CoD get recognition and guess what? in my opinion, those games are mainstream bullshit. Stalker is perfect the way it is, with us, loyal fans. A game does not require to be paraded, advertised and put on a pedestal to be great and have merit, but the developers do deserve the appreciation and credit =)

stalker is a legend(IMO)but what makes this game sad? the death of characters that die E.G Grouse,Ghost,Fang Optional:Vano,Strider,Strelok,Solokov,Zulu(R.I.P zulu) and the death of Monolith also sadden me,death of these random stalkers,Duty,Freedom,Military,Free Stalkers and alike...died at the hand of the zone...R.I.P every stalker died at the zone and other evil characters like tremor

The Amateur singing is so charming and fitting in a STALKER universe. Like a local band from the zone doing it's first gig in Freedom base. One of the rare times not being able to hold a tone actually makes the song better. Sounds real, raw and unedited. All the covers that do this song but with pitch-perfect vocals and autotune just sound sterile and lack character.

U are absolutely right, its the same thing with the guitar song like "he was a good stalker", played perfectly, it loses his charms and its identity, but some miss notes remind that this is played by a Stalker, not a musician, a Stalker, they dit the right thing by playing "wrong", its insane how it can be

And, almost paradoxically, also sells the idea of Tarkovsky's film that the Zone is a home for the weary, the wicked and the hopeless. There is a deep sense of comfort surrounded by desperation in these songs.

@@seamusthatsthedog4819 when i discovered this game, i asked myself "why are theu staying in the zone, its too much dangerous even if u want to become rich, there is other way and better way to do it" Well they are in the zone by 2 Factor, because they were involved by force (military for exemple with opération monolith), or because other reasons (curiosity, want to be rich selling artifacts, contract for mercenaries, etc...) There is so much reasons to stay in the zone. Stalkers Only have the zone for their reason, they know the danger, but they stay ''Like no other we fell in hell The future in our hands Live to forget" Eng translation In the Darkness zone, there is light, Hope, fascination, a will to acomplish despite the zone itself The music are telling so much more than 1000 words

Because theyre not doing many post apo games with great atmosphere. If Fallout wouldn't be done now by Bethesda, and by InXile as an isometric crpg, I would say It would easily beat stalker atmosphere. First 2 fallouts are masterpieces in terms of destroyed and brutal world, the atmosphere is greatest I've ever seen, and this ambient soundtrack, oh god...

Так-то игра не просто очередной конвейерный шутан, а реально душевная такая игра. Причём весьма популярна за бугром, ведь берет она хоть и не графикой или каким-то прорывным геймплеем, а АТМОСФЕРОЙ. Порой даже на вылазке в какой-нибудь заднице Зоны чувствуешь себя уютно так, пусть даже и без напарников. Игра весьма сильно так берется за душу

Сколько времени прошло, а для меня СТАЛКЕР остаётся лучшей игрой, за всю мою жизнь. Столько ярких воспоминаний осталось у меня. Помню когда боялся идти к кровасосу, прося отца убить его. А он не хотел мне помогать. Тогда я собрав всю волю в кулак - еле как убивал его. Первые артефакты, задания, убийства и необычный сюжет, заставляет меня со слезами на глазах вспоминать эту великую игру!

Сталкер, не смотря на свои минусы, баги, вылеты, дыры в сюжете, притягивает. Придешь один раз в зону и не отпускает зараза, снова надо идти. Чувство необъяснимое. Ностальгия, тоска, ощущение, что чего то не хватает.

Когда мне было года 4 я смотрела, как мой батя играл в сталкер, я помню как было интересно даже просто смотреть. Как на выходе из тунелей под агропромом выходил контроллер. Помню как Шраму вечно снились сны с крысами и многое другое. Батя мне ещё рассказывал про реальную Припять. Позже сталкер стал для меня первой серьёзной игрой. Моё первое прохождение ТЧ было не забываемым, то как я шла отключать выжигатель мозгов, то как я выбираюсь оттуда без оптечек, мммм. Меня больше никакая игра так не цепляет, даже от звуков в меню меня пробирает дрожь. Помню как на кордоне обходила военных(платить не хотела) и тут слышу эту композицию -и начинается вокал. I remember fighting tooth and nail in STALKER: Anomaly to try and get from Yantar to Jupiter. From psy-storms and bloodsuckers at the Army Warehouses to grueling fights with bandits and Monolith in the Red Forest, I fought on and on with my rapidly deteriorating shotgun. Finally, I had unknowingly reached the Oasis and after figuring out how to get in. I simply stopped, stared at the Heart of The Zone and played this song on the PDA radio. I took off my mask and simply stared at the Heart as this played. Once it ended, I donned my mask, climbed out and looked out at the horizon while STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl's theme automatically began playing, reminding me of the grim world that still awaited me.

Peace40wnage I used to think it's Ukranian even tho I could clearly make out some English words. Until I saw this comment. At first. I feared reading it. I just convinced myself that it was a translation I didn't need to read. As if the song would be better if I didn't understand the lyrics. Maybe they wouldn't be as good as the music. Maybe they won't be relevant to S.T.A.L.K.E.R. I feared being disappointed. Until today. Today I built up the courage to read alongside the music. For the first time. Thank you. S.T.A.L.K.E.R. I think this song is about the Wish Granter. It seems like the person in the song is receiving a vision of the future of Earth. It's pretty dark when you realize that Strelok may have doomed the entire world when he killed the C-Consciousness.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. was such an immersive game. I still get the chills by this song reminding me my experience, of the days I stayed by the bar did nothing but side missions, only because I was too scared to head for the center of the zone,

I mean, even *I* was, but I've still went ahead. There's only 2 controllers, one in the agroprom research institute, and one near Ghost in lab x16, and those monsters are like the scariest xD, anyway, if you're worrying about blood suckers, you'll find about 7 in the Brain Scorcher dungeon, and that's about all you have to worry about. Snorks are just annoying-ass monsters that you shouldn't fear, their screeches are ridiculous and they don't do much if you just WALK (press shift) and shoot away xD

I think this game is great, but still, I don’t want to miss the fact that my soul hurts due to the fact that my home country has part of completely lifeless territories (which is becoming more and more with the current war). Let's not forget at what cost such stories are created.

+Dmitriy Romanov просто игра делалась на совесть, а не за ради одних только денег как делают сейчас. Разработчики любили свою игру и вкладывались в неё по полной. Сейчас такого уже нет, изредка лишь появляються игры типа Half Life, The Last of Us, Fallout и прочие. Сейчас всё поставлено на конвейер.

Помню,у меня, да и у друзей в 2007м компы у всех слабые были, кому - то пиратка в руки попала и понеслось. Ещё в школе игру обсуждали, кто сколько хабара наберёт, кто до куда дойдёт. А когда только начали проходить, из деревни новичков боялись выходить.Первые встречи с мутантами, кордон, блокпост вояк ,посиделки у костра, во время дождя, слушая анекдоты, тёмная ночь,подземелья. Эта атмосфера сталкера, звуки, эффекты,а особенно музыка, да и графика в общем, в тот момент - было нечто.Просто невероятное чувство ностальгии, которое я никогда не забуду!

Very few games make you feel vulnerable and at the bottom of the food chain like S.T.A.L.K.E.R. In AAA games, you're always a godly superior fighter shooting and killing hundreds of nameless enemies.

+Fischstix95 I love how at the beginning of each STALKER game, even if you're playing on Novice, 1 false move gets you killed. It feels so real. You can't just run around killing shit because you'll get shot in the fucking face or mauled by Snorks.

In Stalker SoC i stand at sunset upon a building in the stalkercamp and heard this song for the first time. One of these unforgettable moments in the stalker serie.

How can a game be so legendary in being able to induce diarrhea of fear when exploring the labs of Chernobyl as well as making me laugh at the AI when they keep walking into each other, aim at the roof and looping their dialogue ("I said come in, don't stand there!")? I don't know, but Christ almighty do I love it.

+Sweetness71775 Yep, just went to go and play the game after awhile. All I had been doing for awhile was just exploring the world, but I finally went to go and actually continue with the story XD. Unfortunately for me, my next destination was the x18 labs. Dear god... The way that I save is by making a new save every time I do so to prevent accidentally corrupting said save, and I name it either safe save or exploration save depending on the appropriate conditions. I swear, once I had gotten out of that place my exploration save # had jumped from 65 to 101.

imagine living in the zone. sleeping in cold and dark buildings, waking up to a beautiful yet lonely sunrise, venturing through the barren streets all while this song plays in your head. s.t.a.l.k.e.r is a beautiful game. ive never felt so immersed

Yeah imagine living in the zone your freezing and cold hungry you have radiation poisoning, you feel week very light headed with a severe headaches and constantly vomiting you go see a doctor he tells you you only have maybe week to live and it will be a painful death as your body starts to decompose and break down from radiation poisoning. Yeah sounds like fun sign me up that if you dont get eaten by a mutant or accidentally walk into anomaly, oh i almost forgot that radiation was caused by those artifacts you so desperately seeked out in the zone

Вспоминаю, как сваливал с уроков к корешу и играли с ним в тень чернобыля, ибо мой комп не тянул. Все эти локации, музыка, фразы как родные, часть детства. Блядь, где это все, почему все это осталось там, 10 лет назад.

Ко мне наоборот в 2010 - 2011 одноклассники приходили играть. Это 7 класс был, или 8, я уже и забыл даже... Было круто.

Надо же, как быстро летит время , ещё совсем недавно был мелким , играл ночи на пролет , а сейчас взрослый мужик , игры уже так не интересуют не тянут к себе как раньше , но сталкер это любовь , просто хочу сказать, спасибо большое за детство ! "В сердце на всю жизнь"

Это видео датируется началом 2008 года...Боже, тогда ещё даже Чистое Небо не было выпущено.... Вот слушаю я эту прекрасную музыку, и прямо так тепло на душе становится, сразу вспоминаю как в детстве с друзьями собирались у одного компьютера, и проходили-перепроходили сталкер Тени Чернобыля, это было прекрасно.... Надеюсь S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2, подарит такие-же незабываемые эмоции как детям, так и нам, ветеранам вселенной S.T.A.L.K.E.R..... This video dates back to early 2008...God, back then, even Clear Sky wasn't released yet.... Here I listen to this beautiful music, and just so warm in my heart becomes, I immediately remember as a child with friends gathered at the same computer, and passed-passed Stalker Shadows of Chernobyl, it was beautiful.... I hope S. T. A. L. K. E. R. 2 will give the same unforgettable emotions to both children and us, veterans of the S. T. A. L. K. E. R. universe.....

Сталкер 2 будет провалом, это точно. Руководство поменялось и вряд ли сделает что-то похожее на этот шедевр мировой игроиндустрии, да и тем более пропадёт та самая ностальгическая нотка, жалко конечно, но такова жизнь

Aye this hits harder these days then it did in those days.

В баре чувствуешь себя лучше чем дома...

This game was fucking immersive. Just sitting at the Bar and hearing the music and news broadcast from the clock tower. Or just sitting next to fellow stalkers, playing guiter and sitting by the campfire. Can't replay it though cause it just doesn't feel the same as the first time, and mods don't help. Wish this series got more attention.

play call of chernobyl, has every map from every game and you can use any faction and have a "story mode" for a few factions besides like monolith to turn off the brain scorcher, or you can do a "survival" mode which has 10x more zombies than before. its pretty fun, and theres addons for it too for more weapons, graphics, mutants, etc. look up some videos of it

smh Yeah. I'd recommend call of chernobyl too. It's a fresh yet so familiar and homely experience

Дрючит, короче начальник блокпоста срочника по уставу караульной службы: - Слушай сюда, Иванов. Стоишь ты значит на посту ночью. Вдруг видишь - к тебе что-то темное подползает… Твои действия? - Так это..... Вас, товарищ командир домой отнесу… Один сталкер говорит другому: - А я с собой в поход всегда фотографию тёщи беру. - Зачем? - Ну как же! Холод, грязища, аномалии, мутанты… А я гляжу на карточку и думаю. Господи! Хорошо то как! Приехал, значит, новый полкан на часть. То да сё, перекур, он с офицерами в курилку. Ну и там анекдот рассказал. Все смеются… А один летеха - нет. Он ему и говорит: - Слышь, лейтенант. Всем смешно, а тебе - нет? - Так я не из вашей части, товарищ полковник. Говорит как-то генерал рядовому: - Я как вижу, рядовой, ты что-то охрененно умный? Он такой: - Кто? Я? - Ну так не я же… Ну, прибывает как-то на Кордон к блокпосту генерал. И спрашивает у одного из срочников: - Ну, сынок. Как служба? - Ничего, товарищ генерал… привыкаю. - Представь, солдат: Ведь ты теперь защищаешь людей от Зоны… Как сюда попал? По собственному желанию? - Ну, я согласен, что людей надо от зоны беречь. Генерал улыбается: - Какой сознательный солдат попался ! А тот и дальше: - Я и военкому сто раз говорил: Нечего мне в зоне делать! А он, зараза...
