Finnish Nokia M61 V3 Gas Mask test
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
Test of the Finnish M61 V3 Gas Mask/Respirator made by Nokia.
The V3 M61 has a metal voice diaphragm built into a plastic housing that also holds the exhale valve, unlike the earlier masks which simply had a rubber exhale valve in it's place with a directional cover.
The voice diaphragm works fairly well but is a weak point of the mask, the voice diaphragm did not come with any O-rings so over time a leak is likely to happen, mine was easy to repair using an industrial adhesive but bear in mind that these masks may come with a faulty voice diaphragm if you are buying them as surplus and intending to use them.

Weaponsandstuff93, you make great videos and you're my main source for gas mask knowledge. But I would love to see you do any repairs on gas mask parts or custom things to make gas masks better

Yeah I know the design is dated and all, but I just love this mask, partly because it was one of the first ones I added to my collection. The V2 is the best one out of the series imo

Interesting thanks.
I have an M61 but it was bought at a surplus shop and is quite uncomfortable because I had been folded up and the rear corners of the eyepieces dig into my head and the straps have lost most of their elasticity so they dangle over my head. But if I get the harness just right is ok to wear. Thanks for another great video!
@Weaponsandstuff93

Glad you like the video but yeah any mask if folded for too long can become damaged.

I would get this mask just for the cool tower and the nose. The design reminds me a little of Hanyas or these kinds of japanes mythical creatures. Cool video btw and you could try to use silicone on the diaphragm
Great video, I know that a lot of people don't like the look of these masks but I really do! Sad that they didn't just convert them to 40mm instead of replacing them with the m17 (im talking about the accual m9 mask)

Nice. I have some 60 to 40mm adapters, I guess now I know a good 60mm mask to pick up. I have sheets of gasket material and washer punches. I bet I could improve the voice diaphragm with that if there isn't room for an O-ring or two. It would be a fun project/challenge anyway. Thanks Liam. /Mike

Cheers, yeah when properly sealed the voice diaphragm works okay, It's a bit of an ugly looking mask but very functional.
I've just bought one of these, posted today.... hopefully it's good. The other masks you rate highly are way too expensive. I got this one for £20

So quick question is there aspest in it?
Im planning to purchase one of those Gas Masks, does the 60MM filter have asbestos in it? If it does what do I do?
@Weaponsandstuff93
6 жыл бұрын
M61 60mm filters are safe but if you did get an asbestos filter, don't use it.
Does it have the meego os?
So whens the apple mask coming out?
What war was the m161 used in
Do the filters contain chromium? (I'm thinking about getting one but I don't know but I do know there is no asbestos)
@Weaponsandstuff93

Supposedly they do contain chromium.

Hey there, I asked r/gasmasks but no one has an answer. Neither did the Wiki. What sizes are available for this design? i.e the yugoslavian horror and the original american one I'm guessing it's similar to the Israeli gas mask (4a1 is it?) and is a universal size?
@Weaponsandstuff93
4 жыл бұрын
I'm pretty sure the original M9 would have been small, medium, large indicated by a letter which was pretty common with US masks. As for the clones I'd assume the same system.
@jesuschrist4274

@@Weaponsandstuff93 Since no one lists sizes anywhere, does that mean my best option is to just buy one and and hope it's the right size Or like did yours come from a website that's competent and lists a size, and if so which was it eBay isn't helping with this unfortunately
@Weaponsandstuff93

@@jesuschrist4274 Sadly it's often a case with masks of buying and hoping you get a size that fits.
what is the best 60 mm gas mask in your opinion ??? m61 or the c3
@Weaponsandstuff93
6 жыл бұрын
C3 is a lighter and I quite like it but the M61 has a better face shape and better straps. I think the C3 is slightly better.
Yo. I bought a gp5 set but they didnt come with a pouch, can i just keep it in a drawer? And can i clean it with very strong soap as it smells like mold?

Keeping it in a drawer is fine but I'd recommend regular dish soap for the GP-5.
