    Thanks! I'm glad you enjoy my videos. I still like the new stuff but I always come back to the old cars. They just bring back so many memories. I didn't have many RC's growing up but I bought all the magazines I could afford and drooled over the pictures lol. Thanks for the kind words! 👍

    Haha thanks mate! I forgot to mention, I actually used Tamiya acrylic in the airbrush for the wheel cover. I think it looks pretty good too. Could be a good idea but it's a lot of money to throw away. It actually sprayed quite well but I think it was mostly thinners coming out. It looked like I'd tipped thinners over it straight after painting 😬. That is a great chrome. I use Molotow pen refills, just tip a small amount on a piece of paper then brush it on. I've used it in the airbrush too and it worked well. It's not very hard wearing though, very easy to ruin the finish by touching it even when dry. No probs at all mate, glad you enjoyed it. Yeah, I don't think the ol' Paj' was too popular back in the day. 👍

    I watched a Japanese Tamiya build video and I noticed that the guy placed his paint cans in a pot of water on the stove with a plate on top to hold them underwater. I don’t know what he was doing because everything was in Japanese but I suspect he was warming them up before using them. Maybe it’s not a bad idea to take into account the temperature of the paint. Especially on a cold day.

    Awesome finish in the end there Mick , where does this end the love for the model building and collecting is awesome but the room and all the boxes can somewhat get horrendous starting to creep toward 90 kits and almost 55 needing building so i think ill have to start being very selective on what i buy and so on but i think i have an addiction as i just bought another 6 in the past month and now with lockdown over and things starting to get back in some normality i also am getting back into my RC planes as flying is one of my real passions so i could be looking for a bigger and better residents with perhaps a barn/shed he he he thanks for another aspirating video and such a great finish on the old timer truly came out tops mate :-) , cheers .

    Thanks Andrew! Haha I know exactly what you mean mate. It's all fun and games, then all of a sudden you can't move without tripping over cars or having a bunch of boxes fall over. Maybe we need more lockdowns so you can get some of those builds done lol. That's great that you can get out and fly your planes again. I'd love a plane one day but I'm not good at thinking in 3D so it will likely end in heartache lol. Oh yeah, you're gonna need more space if your collection keeps growing, a shed would be cool lol. How much difference is there between the Pajero chassis and the Lunchbox chassis?

  • @RCHobbyShed

    @RCHobbyShed

    2 жыл бұрын

    There are a few differences although the main difference would be that the battery mounts through the bottom of the Lunch Box, whereas the Pajero battery is mounted up the top in the rear. Other differences are steering servo angle is different, body mounts, also the shocks and shock mounts front and rear are different. 👍

    This looks great Mick, I've done some very crap paint jobs especially my sand scorcher. Knew I should just leave it white. Sometimes you just can't win. This looks very nice, hopefully they do a rere. I'm trying not to buy anything but I like the super Avante. There's no way I won't buy that ,just looks very different from the rest and they say it's a great running beast. I have a nice rocket 3.5 turn motor I'm thinking of using in a tt02 escort just to see how fast I can get it to go. The guy who makes the G11 part for the VQS is going to make alloy shock towers for it soon . I hear that's a great running car to. Thanks for the video mate, take care.

    Thanks mate! Oh yeah, sometimes it just doesn't go well no matter what ya do. There is the Montero, released in 2011. It's still the Pajero body but on a Lunch Box chassis and has the big wheels. I wish they'd rereleased it as it was in 84. The Super Avante has me on the fence, I really can't decide if I like it or not. It's different though, no doubt about that! Haha the Escort will hammer with the 3.5 in it! Oh yeah, he messaged me the other day to tell me. Hmmm, think I will have to have me some nice gold alloy shock towers 🤤. I still haven't run my VQS yet. Since we've been out of lockdown it's poring rain most days, if it's not one thing it's another! No probs mate, hope you enjoyed it. Cheers! 👍

    @@keithrx3c If you have any cracks/splits on it you might want to go with J-B Weld or Araldite. I used J-B Weld on the chassis for this Pajero and it worked very well. Very strong stuff! For drilled holes you want to fill, automotive body filler will work well. I would have used that if I didn't have so many Tamiya Putty tubes to use up. 😁👍
