Love this fin! I had to repair mine just a few months after I got it. It somehow got left on the couch and then laundry got piled on it, and it developed a huge tear from the corner of the foot pocket. I was devastated but endeavored to fix it. Sil-poxy was a godsend! I cleaned it super well with soap and then alcohol and let it dry completely. Then I used a pool noodle in the foot pocket to keep it it's full shape, filled the space in the tear with Sil-poxy, and used a sewing pin to hold both sides in place by sticking through the silicone and directly into the pool noodle. Then covered the entire torn area with Sil-poxy on the outside. After it cured I removed the pins and pool noodle and covered the inside of the torn area with more sil-poxy as well as the pinholes in case they decided to cause more tears. It went super well! I haven't had any further damage or wear to this fin and I've had it as long as you've had you're and even bought a second one so my sister can mermaid with me ❤ Hope you get yours fixed up soon! (Eta: I also reinforced all the corners of the foot pockets to prevent any more tearing. If you would like to see pictures of the original tear it's on my insta MeliPixie)

I just wish they came in either solid or different colors. I'm not a huge fan of either of the combos.

This is a great fin! I've managed to sell a couple people on them, including a young teen on the autism spectrum who took to mermaiding instantly when she and her mom observed me in the pool. We let her try a couple of my fins, including this one, and she got one and loves it (she already was a very experienced swimmer). I love the design of this, and the way it moves. But I have the huge feet issue, not quite 11 but close, and very wide, also with arthritic big toe joints. The Luna, unfortunately, rubs them and barely fits the wide foot... not an issue most mermaids will have but be aware if you have special needs. I extended the heel strap with those little circular hair bungees. Loop through a strap hole and around the peg. I've also managed to rip one totally... and the customer service is great. I sent pics and an explanation, they sent a replacement fin. Sil-Poxy seems to be the repair glue of choice. I love the way it looks, even in a FinFun tail, the movement on land or in the water is great. But my short legs require more propulsion, and I found the Linden with its stiffer blade, to offer more kick. That said, this is one of the top 3 I'd recommend to any beginning mer.

Dear Courtney, you're a LIFESAVER right now. I've had this monofin on my wishlist for years but never was too sure if I should really myself one (I live in Germany and buying it from here makes it about USD 125 which is... something to think about properly when you're just a trainee at the moment) ... Thanks to this review though, now I AM sure I gotta give it a try!! I'm still a bit in doubt when it comes to the width of the foot pockets though. I'm someone with large (women's 10.5) AND pretty wide feet... But at the same time, I think I could still try to resell it if worst case happens and it doesn't fit. Anyway, thanks to you, I finally know for sure that I REALLY want to try this one!! ♥

I've got those feet. About 10, 10.5 and very Pennsylvania German wide. Hahahahaha... I just barely fit in the fin. Now I do have arthritic big toe joints, which get rubbed the wrong way in this fin, and I can still wear it. It is glorious. I personally like a stiffer fin for the propulsion though and my little collection includes a Linden. If your feet don't have any lumpy bits, this will likely work fine. Also I added extenders to the straps: hair bungees, those little springy circles for tying your ponytail... loop through a hole in the foot strap and around the peg. You can make the strap longer.

I had a problem that the foot pockets were ripping at the bottom away from the main part. Company was fantastic and sent me new one. Sent mine back and have had no more issues with my new one. Its my fav monofin for comfort and wear it for long or dry sessions

I fell in love with this beautiful fin the moment i unboxed it and felt it in my hands, it is the most stunning monofin I've ever seen, and i have tested it on holiday in one of the indoor pools that luckily allowed fins and flippers and i have also tested it in the ocean but only in gentle currents and shallow waters and it worked so well and was such a thrill, and most of all it makes me feel like a real and authentic mermaid! So much so that when i did my first ever test i became emotional because it filled me with this joy I've never felt before 💖 and also i tend to cramp in other monofins/flippers but with the amazing Luna i don't cramp at all it's truly a gorgeous and authentic mermaid experience 😘 I will definitely try out Mertailor's fantasea range of fins, they look beautiful too 💖 I am so glad i discovered and got into mermaiding. I didn't even realise it was a thing until my friend told me about the amazing world of mermaiding, and i fell in love with the sport straight away and i haven't stopped flipping ever since lol mermaiding is my life now 😍

I bought this monofin a few months ago after seeing your first review and I love it too! The flop is the best part! I also don’t think about my feet while I’m swimming so it makes it easier to fully immerse myself in the mermaid experience. 🧜🏻‍♀️ love your videos!

i'm actually in the market for a new monofin and this is the one i've been considering for a long time. this video has sealed the deal for me and i can't wait until i can afford it!

I bought my Luna purely from your recommendation and I'm glad I did! I have since downsized my collection and all I kept was my Luna and Shooter. I guess I'm also a Finis fan now. :)

Mine came today, but immediately broke on both "pegs", I think the seams were just bad. But Finis was already working on fixing the issue with me within an hour. The angle of my foot is such that it's a little flat for my "steep" feet, but I think that's a problem for most fins with my foot shape. It also fits my selkie/seal flipper aesthetic better than any other!

Now i use the luna, i really love the « stiff flop » 😂 but the thing i love the less is the color ... i really don’t like the green with blue tips ... really ugly for me 😂 and as someone who can’t wear mermaid tail in any public pool, for me the market is really missing a « nude monofin » (skin color monofin) ...

Feel ya with the stay in place orders... Driving me insane... Thankful I swim in the river more than pools

I really want to try this monofin, it looks so pretty and floppy but not too floppy, the propulsion looks very nice and in general it looks very pretty :}

I don't know how comfortable the Luna is or how well it works while swimming, because I don't know anything about silicone monofins and to be honest, I'm not a big fan of how and where the colors are placed on this fin, BUT I must say, I really like its shape. Out of all your monofins, the Luna definetly has the prettiest shape and I think it is the most mermaidy and realistic fin you have ^^👌🏻💗

ANd yes, we're all having quarantine issues. I've sort of solved it with launching a kayak... while we can't technically swim in the lake, we can bob by the boat in a PFD... I still want to be UNDERWATER

I read a review on the luna were the luna straps ripped and that kind of drove me away from the luna and I got the adult linden instead.

I bought the finis luna just 2 weeks ago and yesterday tried it out for the frist time and really love it!

Hi im new to mermaiding and i really want this monofin do they make any in larger sizes i push between a womens 13 or 14

Love the video. I am a Luna fan too. Sadly I tried out my new Luna last week and within 20 min of my first swim it ripped on the back of the foot pocket near the strap. It was a replacement fin for my previous Luna that also ripped in the same spot. It was disappointing BUT I contacted Finis and they offered to send me a replacement fin. I am a little concerned because I have had two rip and I don't have particularly big feet although they are wide. I love your videos on the Luna and I did use your code when I bought mine.

someone else said they fixed their tears and reinforced it with sil-poxy, maybe try that? sometimes batches of certain products can have the wrong consistency and won’t hold up as well. is the new one still in good shape?

if you had to choose between this monofin or the fantasea fin which do you find better I am torn between the two.

Bought this monofin after trying body glove one that I wasn't thrilled with. Also bought on the fabulous review given by Courtenay. Have been having a blast swimming every two nights with these fins and I absolutely was thrilled until last night when I saw a huge rip from the side to where the foot goes...also another one starting on the other side. Am totally dismayed as I bought it on amazon and the time is up for a refund. Not sure what to do but have written the company and hopefully they can replace them. Only had them for two months!!! I want another pair asap as I am missing being able to do my lengths with them and don't think any others come close to the feel and look. I too would love another choice in colour only the blue and green for adult size on Amazon. Surprised that only slight damage to Courtenay's after 4 years...wondering if this was a fluke pair????? Seeing that others have had similar issues on this thread :-(

I really like (not love yet because I haven't seen it in person) the finis Luna but I am afraid that if I get a heavy Monofin I will sink to the bottom of the pool, I tried looking up advice on how to "prepare for a heavy monofin" but nothing came up, any advice?

I just came across this Luna monofin and wonder how this monofin'd be for slim feet EU38-39 and hyperflexible ankles 🙂 I love the shape! And only own the Finfun pro so far ☺

I have a 4 foot deep pool is this mono fin good for small spaces? Does the luna have more Propulsion than the Mertailor?

It fits well for a 4 foot deep pool. I think propulsion is almost the same for both brands, but Luna and mertailor basically gave u different feelings. Mertailor (FF2) is much more heavier and it helps for those who are very floaty like myself. If compare to comfortable wise, Luna is more comfortable bcos it’s lighter and u will never had any foot pocket or angle issue. U’ll feel like it’s an extension to ur legs. Anyhow, mertailor is more floppy and u gonna feel urself is a real mermaid when u swim with it cos the way it flows in the water is so elegant and graceful.

I just ordered mine, but I am curious how long the pending fulfillment was labeled before you received a tracking update on the package this is my first monofin and still not sure on the whole shipping process

I am really considering getting one but my question is. It's wonderfully floppy but most reviewers say it's not great for propulsion / that it's slow. Also most reviews I see are in pools, so how well does it hold in open water, say a lake or the sea? Would you recommend venturing into the sea with this or not really?

I have small size feet (34-35 EU) but i hate the size S color, so if I wearing diving boots or neoprene socks will it be secure enough to wearing size M?

So update about my fins. Amazon ended up by refunding me and so I bought a new pair from finis. After only one month of using the exact same thing happened!!! I am so upset as they are comfortable and easy to swim in. Ended up buying the Mahina Merfins and they are quite stiff and uncomfortable plus swimming in them is nothing like the Luna. Impractical to keep buying themLuna only to have to return them. Surprised that there aren’t more complaints but perhaps these are being used mostly for fun whereas I am a serious swimmer and put more stress on them. my new rubber ones will definitely last but are quite disappointing. Any suggestions?

I had the same issue as you. My last one ripped at the foot pocket within 20 min of using it. It was my second Luna and they both ripped in the same place. When they offered me another one I opted for a Finnis Rapid. That said latter I did get another Luna. I think I am going to get some silpoxy and reinforce the foot pocket area before I use it.

What tail skins fit the Finis Luna?

Courtney makes tails to fit it. Sparklegirl Costumes, Moonsong Magic and Mertailor Guppy Skins will all work. There may be a few other tail makers for it as well.
