Finicky Fukien Tea: Dave's Bonsai E170
In this episode, I tackle the Finicky Fukien Tea. This tree either grows like a weed or sits there waiting for the next surge. This is one of two trees that I also took a picture a day for the entire year (2021) to see how it grew in one full year of seasons. Fukien tea is very finnicky. It definitely prefers being in the ground like a weed. They grow like weeds in my area but if you put them in pots then its hit or miss. I've have a few just crash on me. I decided to work on one in the ground wiring it etc. I will pot it once I get some girth on it.

That was pretty slick, Dave. And that tree took off in April! I think it might like your indoor setup better than your outdoor bench. Ok, now back to Tank-Pot
7/16/2023 I am a novice./ My indoor funien tea, please excuse my spelling. my tea bonszai tree has a problem. The entire trunk has turned green. please help!
Mine sits, makes flowers and attracts mealy bugs.

Hi. Do you leave your tree out in the sun light or indoor. I'm planning to buy one fukien next week, so can I keep it indoor in terms that it won't die. I have a room with lots of sunlight

Sun is always best if you can. But southern facing Windows will still do okay.

Sadly, no. I lost this tree a while back. The finicky Fukien was too much for me apparently.
