Melodic Metal TV In the early 2000’s I begin dating my now wife, and she used to be in Vigos. beach in the summer, so I begin visited her.... regardless that I love the flavour, Estrelle Galicia was one of the prizes after a 650 km coach trip (no driving license back then). 10 years ago you could buy it at el corte ingles. now it has take over all Spain. Still in love with both, my wife and Estrella......

The blind test is a great idea. The only way to get a true indication of how your taste buds feels without the influence of peer group pressure and marketing. I'll have to try the same test when I'm over there in two months. The sacrifices I make! lol

That was a blast to watch! Thanks. Our favorite Spanish beer is a dark, Estrella Galicia 1906 Black Coupage. Not easy to find in most places.

My favourite is Estrella Galicia. I don't usually like beer with the only exception of EG. I am from Galicia myself so I'm proud that you recognise another great product from my region!

From my two visits to Spain, I had my mind made up on which was the best beer, and I went for it everytime. Out of a frozen tap into a large frosty glass, there is nothing like it. Absolutely unbeatable. Glad to say that my best is also your best! 👍 Cheers Mick from Australia

A good video and funny too. I liked the way you guys opinionated and introduced biases gradually lol obviously you have two different palettes. This is probably a compromised version of a blind taste test which was a total entertainment for me. Thank you! 😃

Great video guys. They do taste better in a bottle or out of the tap. San Miguel and Amstell are my favs though here in Valencia.

This video was so well organised to provide an unbiased result. I sat watching like it was the World Cup , rooting for the one beer I truly enjoy in Spain, and not because my mother is from Galicia. Yes! Estrella Galicia! You should have heard me when the goal was scored! YES!!

Well done, Mahou beer is one of the most underrated beers in the world, it's my first choice of beer when l,m in Bilbao or San Sebastian, it's a shame we don't have it lreland.....keep up the Good work guy's.

I am slightly disappointed you didn't feature "Mahou cinco estrellas" , which is far superior to Classica. Classica is still a great beer, however lacks the malty and bitter lager characteristics that cinco estrellas has plenty of. Great video as always!!!!!!🇪🇸🇬🇸🇪🇸🇬🇸

Están usando las cervezas mas básicas de cada marca. Estrella Galicia y las otras marcas también tiene variantes mejores, y sin embargo usaron las mas cutres.

Problem is you actually used the "worst" Alhambra which is the red one. Alhambra especial (the golden one) is the one that you get served in most bars, which is a pretty good one. After that one you have the top (and stronger) beer from them, Alhambra Reserva 1925.

@@Cervando The standard beer for Alhambra is the golden one(Alhambra Especial), the low-cost alhambra of this video, is made in the same brewery than San Miguel.

Muy buen video. Tenéis que probar la Alhambra especial, es mi favorita junto con Estrella Galicia. Aquí en Granada ya se vende muy poca Alhambra tradicional porque gusta más el sabor de Alhambra especial, y todos los barriles de Alhambra para los grifos de los bares son de Alhambra especial.

As a resident of Tenerife, I am very partial to a Dorada, though I found it very difficult to come by on the peninsula. I would have loved to know where it would have fitted in on your list. Estrella is also popular here, San MIguel probably number 3. I usually am happy with whichever is cheapest! Plus I always thought Amstel was Dutch, didn't know there was a Spanish one. Nice vid, thanks.

Agreed. I do miss 80 shilling at times and Theakstons Old Peculiar even more, but with the heat in Spain, my go to is Mahou. However my local brews German style beer on site as well, so I am spoiled.

I normally don't drink a lot of beer but I used to crave Estrella Galicia daily when I was in La Coruna. So I'm glad it took first place!

Very subjective comparison, however, very nicely done. Enjoyed watching. Keep doing, guys! Like your videos!

My mother-in-law is from Sevilla so I was hurt with where Cruz Campo came in. But, I can't wait to try Estrella Galecia. We (my wife and I) are coming to Spain in March next year. We plan to take in Holy Week and la feria de Abril in Seville and then off to walk the Camino Frances. It would be great to catch up wit you guys sometime and share a nice glass of wine. We love your KZread videos.

You can try 1906 (Estrella Galicia Special). And also Red Vintage and Black Coupage (Estrella Galicia Special too, but difficult to find)

Love this types of videos. My one suggestion is to initially have your list and Yoli’s list for comparison... showing the viewer. And for the final have your original lists with the final list in the middle, again for comparison. Overall enjoyed it. Since we will be in Madrid next month, I hope to try the top 3. Thanks guys! 😊

So funny! Yet you had a good 'empirical' approach. I must say, having tasted a lot of Spanish lager/beer, Yoli's list was pretty spot on!. However, I wondered as I watched whether your decisions would be influenced by the lower levels of beer in the glass as you tasted....that said, you were pretty spot on in terms of quality. I normally drink real ales in the UK, but enjoy a cana of beer (or 5) when in Spain; after this, I'll be checking out Estrella Galicia in future :-) You know me, I love you videos - a thumbs up and more, bravo. Mahou is my favourite. I'm suddenly finding it in England pretty easily now, thank god!

Loved this tasting. I know it can get difficult because tasting one beer to the next can change the taste of beer. For example, having a IPA before a lite beer will make the lite beer taste more watered down. You two should do more taste tests! Papas Bravas taste test per region would be awesome! Ciao!

Oooh! I missed Keler, up here in the Basque Country is one of our favourites.

Typically sample local beer which I did during our trips to Madrid. Sampled over 10 beers, in all shades and really enjoyed Mahou (red can) Very smooth, goes down smooth and not heavy or bloating. Second place, 1906. A bit heavy but full tasting. However, after sampling some Spanish wine, I transitioned and haven't looked back. While I appreciate a good cold beer, the wine is outstanding. So, if you could do a video on local wine, Rioja and Tempranillos, that would be cool. Found some delicious wines at DIA for under 3 euros. (Senorio de los Llanos, Tempranillo crianza 2016) Ouch! can't be beat. Try it and let me know what you think...of course after the lock-down is over. Stay safe, Daniel

Saludos! Creo que el problema con la Alhambra fué que escogieron la incorrecta. La "gold" es la que es ricisima. Tambien, la Mahou hubiese llegado primera de seguro si hubiesen escogido la 5 estrellas y no la clasica. Creo que el orden entonces hubiera sido Mahou, Estrella Galicia, Alhambra y Moritz. Cambien el escogido y haganlo de nuevo a ver que pasa! Jajajaja

I prefer Estrella just a bit overall.I think what you have found out by your tasting is how the flavour profiles change as the beer warms. Icy cold beer can "hide" lack of good quality (more expensive) ingredients. Most mass market beers are brewed to taste similar anyway. Once you get into the craft segment is where the flavours really shine amongst all the different brewers and recipes. Like store bought bread vs homemade.Fast food vs fine tapas.Great video and lots of fun to watch your progress through the testing.

Interesting to know, u loved San Miguel🍻 It’s originally from the Philippines, then, San Miguel Corporation expanded operations in Spain (Barcelona, to be exact!). When me and my mates were in bars in Liverpool and Birningham, San Miguel beer was very popular and always sought after there too. 🍺🍺🍺

Spain has some of the best regular beers in the world. San Miguel, Mahou, Estrella Galicia are all delicious. My favourite however is Keler from San Sebastián - delicious and light but watch out because it's 6%!

You should try Estrella Galicia 1906, won many awards as the best beer in Spain and it just crushes regular estrella but also gotta watch out, it's a 6.5% beer.

TheFailingGamers Maybe it’s because I’m from Northern Europe but I would say 6% it’s pretty much a normal beer. I would say that anything below 5.3% is low in alcohol and if it’s a lager below 5.3% it doesn’t taste anything basically.

I believe in Spain Amstel merged with Aguila, a spanish brand, so in a way...

I always liked Alhambra, and San Miguel I drank as a student 50 years ago for 5 pesetas, there was also a version from the Philippines. Estrella is great!

Alhambra Baltic Porter, out of the big brewers. Loads of good craft beers, I like the range from Califa in Cordoba, especially "fresh" in their micro-pub.

Como madrileño me decepciona un poco que falte aquí la "Mahou Cinco Estrellas", en mi opinion la mejor Mahou (y mejor cerveza de Madrid) con diferencia ;) Aún así, buen vídeo!

hi Guys again thanks very much for this video. cant wait to see it. today i will be judging very strictly bcs i am coming from Slovakia, which is very close to czech :p whom you can also recognize as "the" ultimate beer temple well, maybe next to Belgium imho :) heheh. Also we visited Spain couple times with my GF and each time i tested your beer it was like "meh", say estrella, san miguel, moritz etc. they all tasted same to me. light, watery, fizzy, but nothing i am used to back home. maybe the only difference was the alcohol lvl or the amount of yeasty taste in it. btw the smilar experience in Greece or Austria. Of course we have similar brands of whats called "eurobeer" here among beer lovers. Say smadny mnich, kelt etc. (thirsty monk, celt) who used to be independent regional breweries and later were acquired by Heineken concern. Couldn't compare them to pilsner style(yep the world famous pilsner urquell), or say lager of our favorite local brewery in the town Stupava called Stupavar (if you ever visit Slovakia, you have to try their 11° light beer called "jedenastecka" which smells and tastes like barley heaven - the same smell that hits your face when you enter their shop in Stupava when the boilers and stacks of freshly ground barley are next doors"). the thing i really love though is that you're proud of your region, enjoying life and having FUN and that's the way it should be. More importantly you have a gift of spreading your joy among others! As always great video. Keep em coming!

quite like Mahou, which is lucky as it seems to be the goto draft beer around here (Torrevieja). however, on this trip i discovered Turia whilst in Teruel, now a definite favourite and available draft in a bar just around the corner from our apartment. also agree with your wife list re Cruzcampo, its the pits.
