    what i like about their videos is that they never denounce a place they visited on the list if they didn't like it, they just give their own opinion on it which I think is a very respectful way to go about it instead of bashing a place because its not their favorite. Overall these videos are so easy and fun to watch I hope we continue to see more of these guys in future videos.

    I went to Katz for the first time ever 2 weeks ago, It was quite pricey ($27) but soooo good. A whole slow cooked brisket for a sandwich that can feed two people (don't forget the pickles and cucumbers they give you) is 100% worth going to.

    00:29 🥪 Katz's Deli, established since 1888, is the first stop on the quest for the best pastrami sandwich in NYC. 01:04 🥒 Key to a good pastrami sandwich: piled-high thick slices of pastrami that almost fall apart when you bite it, with an ideal meat-to-crust ratio. 02:36 📸 Katz's pastrami sandwich impresses with its softness, tenderness, and perfect ratio of ingredients. 05:40 🍽 Despite initial skepticism, the host is immediately convinced of Katz's pastrami's excellence and beefy flavor. 08:14 🌆 The journey continues to 2nd Ave Deli, known for its classic and unchanged recipe since 1954, offering a thick pastrami sandwich and matzo ball soup. 11:35 🍞 The pastrami at 2nd Ave Deli is thinner but boasts a rich, buttery flavor, with the host pondering the preference between seeded and classic rye bread. 13:58 🥖 The hosts sample two types of pastrami sandwiches at 2nd Ave Deli, comparing the classic rye and seeded rye bread, appreciating the unique flavors. 15:31 🥤 The quest concludes at Liebman's in the Bronx, one of the last authentic Jewish delis, offering a renowned celery beverage alongside their pastrami sandwich. 16:27 🥤 Trying celery soda, which tastes more like apple; discussion on celery's flavor. 17:29 🍞 Evaluating a visually appealing pastrami sandwich with a spiral formation and thicker bread; emphasis on marbling and fat content. 18:33 🥩 Tasting a dense pastrami sandwich that feels like good value for money; likening the taste to bacon due to marbling. 19:33 🥒 Experiencing pastrami saturation and discussing the impact of pickles on the overall meal; contrasting opinions on pickles. 20:47 🤔 Reflecting on the friendly vibe of a pastrami place and the importance of traditional elements in crafting a great sandwich. 22:16 🍔 Analyzing the subtle differences in pastrami sandwiches from different places; attributing the excellence to years of tradition and practice. 23:42 🏆 Declaring 2nd Avenue Deli as the favorite, citing reasons such as the steaky, beefy flavor, balanced elements, and a better mouthfeel. 24:42 😅 Expressing the overwhelming experience of eating a significant amount of pastrami in one day and humorous remarks about cardiologists.

    Love this series but as a Brit living in London I feel like no one here is ever paying £20+ for a sandwich. • @tycimaglio9222

    @tycimaglio9222

    6 ай бұрын

    Not only is it a product of NYC just being expensive (especially right now after some bad inflation recently) but the main reason pastrami sandwiches are expensive is the cut of meat - brisket is a pricey cut of beef - even just looking at BBQ places in the Southern US, their brisket sandwiches are almost always the most expensive on the menu and in states cheaper than NYC they still end up being similar in price since the meat itself is just expensive - also comes down to the fact that it is cured for a month and slow cooked, all that time is expensive too hope that explained a bit, they're not expensive solely for the purpose of being overpriced lol they're just expensive sandwiches to make

  • @finjibuns

    @finjibuns

    6 ай бұрын

    @@scottshep8978 I suppose if you split it like was being done in the video it's £11 a half which still isn't great but at least you get to try the sandwich. That's what a lot of those places in NYC feel like to me. Very gimmicky. They are a try once experience for tourists and maybe once a year for residents. I can't honestly imagine there's office workers popping in at lunchtime every week to buy a $25 sandwich or is that cost reflective of good prices in general in NYC now?

  • @scottshep8978

    @scottshep8978

    6 ай бұрын

    @@finjibuns but with a side or two you easily make two meals out of it. Just the sandwich itself will fill you up and not need another meal anytime soon. I'm not disagreeing with you. It is expensive. But for me it's worth it. I have not visited NYC recently so I can not say if it's a normal price.

  • @jaehongsong4904

    @jaehongsong4904

    6 ай бұрын

    @@finjibuns That's not good price for NYC at all. Sandwiches usually cost max 15 dollars in NYC and it's relatively large portions. Considering high median wage in NYC it's probably on par with UK prices. Pastrami sandwich is not something you get often since it is an expensive cut of beef in the first place

    It would be epic to see them travel around the world together or even just visit more places in the uk or USA together

    Watching this is why I give foods more than 1 try before judging/disliking it since eating something just once is not enough to see if it was judged by the food itself or from the place you got it from. I never even ate pastrami before but seeing Harry become a pastrami convert in one day is what trying new foods is all about. You might not like something the first time because the place you went was just mediocre but you'll probably like it if you had it somewhere else.

    You two are quintessentially representative of your two countries. There’s no mistaking the more arrogant & confident American versus the people-pleaser softer & more humble Brit. Perfect pairing! I agree with many other people here that you guys should do your own channel. It’s great!

    Joe and Harry have a chemistry that is yet to be matched by any other pairing, there is just something about them.

    I was introduced to cel-ray soda at Canter’s Deli in LA if you’re ever wanting some of that weird delicious beverage on the west coast!

    2nd Ave is our go-to when we visit NYC, but we did Katz last year. Love both, I think 2nd Ave is somewhat more intense - more fat, more spice. Also love the Kasha Varnishkes at 2nd...
