That was actually a Scottish accent that Johnny Depp was speaking in, since J. M. Barrie was himself, Scottish :) Such a beautiful movie, not a weak performance in the bunch. Fun Fact: The woman who played Peter Pan in the play (in this movie) is Kelly Macdonald, who was also the voice of Princess Merida in Brave :)

Haha Thank you for correcting me on that :) I actually had a feeling deep down I was off lol.
This movie definitely encompassed how much of a b*tch his wife was. Not only did she cheat on him then deny him a divorce (he had to sue her for one) but even after he was granted one, he continued to financially support her after she got remarried to the dude she was cheating with. Really can't help but think of Depp and Heard when watching this.
That scene where He calls out Peter’s growing up. It stuck w me. Yet in reverse, the adults in the theater rediscovering their inner child with the help of the orphans. His wife being so sure of an affair, and instead finding his childhood cooping mechanism of Neverland. This movie plays with imagination , life, death, childhood and adult responsibilities. It really should be better known!
This is one of my favourite films, beautiful... and it always makes me cry. ❤
A beautiful film. A beautiful performance by Mr. Depp. A wonderful reaction. Thank you for this.
Glad you got to experience it. It's a beautiful movie. ♥️ So many underrated Depp movies out there.
Now I'm depressed and want to off myself form dear life. This is too sad! I remember watching this movie, but above all else, I remember the music. Genius composer! Everyone should listen to his piano version of the Theme of Finding Neverland... top best pieces of music ever written.
A few Pirates of The Caribbean costars in this film too. Also in The Libertine there were a few. Johnny's recent movie that he's actually directing, Stephen Graham will be in it & he's been in a few w/JD too. Love Stephen Graham & the shows/movies he's been in. Lots of little connections like that get me excited, I can't explain it. 😅
I teared up when people asked tinkerbell if she was dying
Oh I love that movie! Thanks for your reaction! ❤
It totally slipped my mind that Dustin Hoffman is in this! 👍
It now makes so much why J M Barrie would want to play with these boys so much - He was trying to recapture the childhood he lost having to constantly soothe his mother over his brother, David's death. David was his mother's favourite, and she never got over him, but remarked "At least he's died so young so he'll never grow up and stay perfect forever." Jim was so lonely he'd dress up in his brother's clothes he was so desperate to get his mother's attention; he'd eventually be able to sit with her and they'd tell each other stories. 10:15 The tinkling bell on the end of the kite was a Tinkerbell reference. 11:09 Captain Hook The dog in Peter Pan is called 'Nanna'.
In Victorian and Edwardian times Couples had separate rooms.

Thank you !, that sheds some light on that !.
Wonderful movie and you did a great review!
Freddie Highmore was amazing in this movie. He broke my heart because he stole every scene he was in
What is shocked people wasn't the fact James takes time with the boys but the fact he's a married man who takes time with a widow and her children. It wasn't really tolerate in these times. Little fact : it's thanks to Johnny Depp if Freddie Highmore had Charlie's rôle because Johnny was impressed by his performance in this movie and asked to Tim Burton to auditionned him.

That's cool because Freddie said he was sad saying goodbye to Johnny after this movie and really wanted to see him again and he said he was very happy to get the role of Charie

Let ride the horror bus
Johnny depp played in a lot of stinkers. IMO. This has to be top 5. Only other good one I can think of is POTC (do they count as 1?) Ok. Charlie and the chocolate factory is an okay one.
