AN IMPROVEMENT! You should put the water line across entire the field, in both directions, and put T's in the line for when you make separate pasture plots with your premiere fencing.

I appreciate that you're working on systems that will be more sustainable for you to manage as you age. We are grappling with that right now. We bought a little hundred year old homestead a few years ago, and have been clearing and rehabilitating the old pastures, etc. Then, a spinal cord surgery damaged my husband's nerves. We have been trying to make the property easier to manage, and it's disheartening at times.

So sorry about your husband. I hope all will get better for you and your family and that you achieve your goal on making the property easier to manage. I know how it can be so disheartening and daunting sometimes but you have got it just go a little bit at a time .

Usually those feeders are used on flat level ground and has a cover on it so water doesn't get causing it to clog. It works well then. May have to put 2 T-Post in the side and out rachet strap around so Pigs can't knock it over. You could leave the T-Post in at each paddock so when you come back around they're there. Just a thought. Congratulations on completion of the Water Project. Makes life so much easier. Peace from WV

Those are actually pupae on the caterpillar. The wasp lays her eggs on the caterpillar. The larvae enter the caterpillar and feed on it. At a certain stage the larva emerge and pupate on the caterpillar's surface. They then emerge as adult wasps. Love your family and all you do. Thanks, Daniel

I understand your feeling. We live on the mountain and have water gravity running from above. We have a pond that it runs into. Our hose is even hanging from trees to go across the road. Only issues at times is when a bear gets into to the stream it comes from and causes it to clog up since we have a screen at the beginning so other stuff does not flow through. My cousin has been doing this for about 15 years now. We can add a hose at the end to water the gardens, etc. He and his brother dug trenches that more hose run so his brother's pond is also kept full from the same runoff.

For future hose work, if you take a thermos of boiling water and heat the pipe ends before you push the joiners in its much easier, then as they cool they will harden tighter 👍

Corny definitely needs a whole bunch of ladies to entertain. Show those Geese who the real big guy on campus is. He is grumpy but he is also molting and that can make birds sassy or depressed so that definitely isn't helping. Corny is probably one of my favorites. Normal people understand you are doing what you have to do with the eggs. I always float mine even though I have a coop. Just to be safe. I was going to say those ducks are climbing in a tunnel into the pile of hay bales so it would be fun if you did an egg hunt in there. I will say about the feathers, other then more turkeys, I would like to.see a couple more geese of different breeds or colors. We have never got to watch them raise a baby yet, cauae the pigs bully their way to the eggs, and it sure is precious. I have a soft spot for geese though. I have a hand raised brown Chinese goose and she is the sweetest although very loud but that is her job. I also have a Sebastopol goose and that is my favorite kind of geese look wise. Just waiting for the time when you finally bring little feathers to LHL and break down your population at ISS big time. I will say you might have some problems cause your rooster count seems to be getting to be a bit high. I am a crazy chicken lady so no such thing as to many hen's but definitely with everyone free ranging you can have to many roosters. The rotten egg is always the worst. Once a person has smelled a truly rotten egg it burns a place in your brain and sticks with you. I don't know how Peggy did it. I mean she is a pig but a rotten egg? Maybe next time.crack Corny a egg. Birds love to eat eggs. Especially if you have one that has.been broody for a while and is lacking nutrients, you can scramble them eggs and it really helps them.

We had cork at bottom which was really stick in hole. Bury line real deep. sometimes ours froze. Ps we put strainer in spring. Got at auto store. Dont know exactly what it was called. About size of hose around 3 or 4 inches long. Screen on all

just make sure you have enough buffer tanks - good overall solution get all sources tested regularly - consider an automated water trough to make even less work which is always a good idea on the farm - hope you can do some clearing - build a big pile(s) and then rent a chipper for the day - good compost material - get the carbide blade on the saw - you can do and don't be in a rush

I can tell you have never had a water tank hooked to a spring. You seem to think to water is endless, the way you walk around with no end on the hose. It's a bad day when you turn on the water and nothing comes out. You have to keep check on the water level everyday and don't waste it. We have been on gravity spring water to our house for 9 years offgrid.

Hi Justin. I've been watching your vlog for years. I appreciate all the things you and your family have shared with us over the years. I heard you might be considering bringing your spring water into the house and I wanted to mention a way to pump water over a distance and UPHILL without electricity. Depending how high up your mountain your spring is located using a ram pump (basically a series of valves and a gauge and a sealed PVC PIPE filled with air that builds up pressure from incoming water you can pump water vertically upward 7ft for every 1ft of drop from the spring allowing you to pump your water into an elevated tank near the house which would give you gravity pressurized water to your home. You probably already know about this but I thought I'd mention it anyway. A sturdy ram pump set up with brass check valves and some PVC for potable water would likely be around $200. A elevated water tower by the house is the other cost factor, but you would be dependent on a well pump failing or if the electrical grid failed not having power to pressurize your water. Here in Nebraska, at my acreage, when the power goes out or the snow plow driver severs the power lines, we lose our jet pump and can't even flush the toilets.

I was wondering how the retained water under pressure would last and how long it would take to go down to more of a trickle... I was thinking maybe you could buy a portable water tank with a top fill and a bottom exit and put it in line as a reservoir.... Maybe a 200 or 300 gallon tank would do and recharge during the night. The other option would be to have used a 2" pipe up top To act as the reservoir volume and to add more hydrosthetic pressure downline
