Final Fit N Finish: Feather Fighter Part. 5
The Feather Fighter is DONE! Completely, 100%, sharpened up, DONE and ready for her new home in Australia! It’s a gorgeous 8 1/2” Feather Pattern Damascus Blade, the handle is just under 5” with Fossilized Mammoth Ivory Scales, Argentium Silver Domed Pins, 24K Gold Inlay. A nice wide blade and a feather pattern that’s beautifully centered coming out at the tip. That’s very important to me, I’ll say it a lot and I’ll say it again…I really need to see that feather centered all the way out the tip. You do a feather pattern, you’ll impress me by having it start in the center of the ricasso and then go down the center of the blade or slightly towards the spine and then come out at the tip, that’s what I look for in a feather pattern, that and for the pattern to be even and stuff like that too. It’s a partial take-down, my favorite construction! Coming up next on our channel will be my first Stiletto, I’m super excited about it, I hope you’ll stick with us to watch the next build! Thanks for watching, Bye Bye

I am a full-time Mastersmith knifemaker, and I love my job! I specialize in forged fixed blade knives and also make many other types of edged art.
In March of 2007, I went to the W.F. Moran School of Bladesmithing in Old Washington, Arkansas where I took a two week class on Intro to Bladesmithing under ABS Mastersmiths Burt Gaston and Greg Neely. This is where I learned how to make a blade that would pass the ABS Journeyman Smith Performance Test, after that I took a class on Handles and Guards under ABS Mastersmith Jim Walker where I learned how to make handles out of stag, exotic woods and many other materials.
In June, 2011 I received my Mastersmith Stamp at the Atlanta BLADE Show. Now that I have been granted my MS certification I have a desire to expand my field and continue learning and teaching what I learn, God has given me all the opportunities and teachers that I’ve had and I thank Him for giving me the ability to do something I love.
Follow me on this epic edged art journey!
Thanks for watching
Enjoy!

I just found your channel last week and have been going on a binge spree ever since haha my favorite part about this knife is definitely the feather pattern but im blown away with the fitting of each piece. I try to save my Parks a little. I put the fittings on a wire, heat them, and dunk the wire into the powder. That works, too, and uses less powder. But, you probably have done that. I also use Turco-like water mix paint stuff to stop scaling. It works just as well, but is easier than the powder. I hope you do not mind me commenting. I am just making conversation. You are quite good, and I don't think I know how to do anything better than you do (except Chinese swords :) ). But, you know what I mean. I am just sharing ideas. I enjoy the interactions. nice work, as always.
