Love your reactions, my brother X3 Thanks for making this video~ the story is very complicated at this point because as I mentioned it's the third expansion, and every expansion is like a full game's worth of story in itself. The main guy that was changing classes in the middle of the battle, however, is YOU -- The Warrior of Light, the character that you make in the game! You have the ability to level up every class in the game and change it up as you want between fights/dungeons. And yes, in the story, everyone comes to treat you like you're this amazing legendary hero! The guy he was fighting in the beginning of the trailer is an event that happens at the end of the most recent expansion, facing of against Zenos, the main baddy of Stormblood. The guy that was fighting the giant white winged lion was Thancred, a major character in the game who is now using a Gunblade, a' la the new Gunbreaker class in this expansion inspired by Squall in FF8. It's a sword with a revolver barrel in it and a trigger in the handle. If you pull the trigger as you impact, it makes this big explosion down the blade, as you saw :) Basically in this expansion, you've fought and beaten the forces of darkness so much and become so powerful that the world is now out of balance, and the Light is now way too strong. In the alternate world that is closest to the light, "The First", they are about to be consumed by the Light, and the apocalypse is being preluded by the arrival of these creatures that are causing mayhem and destruction, created by the light itself. You are summoned from your world to fight against these creatures, dawning the mantle of the Warrior of Darkness to fight against the light and return the balance. Just a small bit of story in a huge, epic saga :) Hope I was able to explain it alright~

My brain just exploded from all of this information… But I love it! You are really into the series which is also what I love and I can’t wait for you to get your hands on this game! Thank you for breaking down that synopsis because I would’ve never guessed any of that at all 😂😂😂 You rock dude!

One more mistake u made there it not that we defeated darkness that the light become too strong, because this is in the first and not the source

Awesome video. FFXIV is basically a huge MMORPG that has one of the best storyline I have experienced in an MMO genre ever, I would go as far as saying most RPG I have as well. If urge you to try. Anyway, I will give you a minor spoilers. The character who you see is suppose to be you as default setting character. In their world, there are Gods and false Gods. The one called Hydaelyn and Zodiark are the Gods that most know in their world. About 10,000 years ago, Zodiark started to absorb more power from aether. In order to maintain balance, Hydaelyn banished Zodiark into the moon and split his power into 13 shards. Each shards contains small reality/world. The world of Erozea, the world we all play in is considered the source, outside of 13 shards. There are radicals called the ascians, followers of Zodiark, hell bent to restore power to Zodiark because they believe the balance between light and dark must be maintained. But ascians do not care how they do it. Basically their goals justifies the means. All throughout the game, we, the warrior of Hydaelyn, tries to stop these ascians from their diabolical plans. Meanwhile, Hydaelyn grows even more weaker because these ascians manipulate other radicals to summon false gods called the primals. For these primals to exist in their world, it requires significant power from the aether. Which makes Hydaelyn even weaker. This is why we have been selected to be the special agent to kill these primals. Skip forward to next launch trailer, it reveals that Hydaelyn and Zodiark are not really Gods, but they are primal themselves. That's the huge twist that we have been struck with since the tailer drop. This is why a lot of us are so excited about this new expansion. We want to know have we been played a fool all this time?

Saying it the best storyline in an mmrpg it fine but it rpg u r pushing have u played any rpgs like come, and I played shadowbringers it amazing but it nothing special like I haven't seen before, it amazing climate of ff14

I’ve never played any final fantasy stuff but this game is pretty as heck dope video
