its really funny how Rikku is completely useless unless you know how to use her correctly. She is also one of my favorites in 10, mainly because of how funny she is.

She's complicated for noobs to use to her full potential without a guide, but she's still really good even without knowing how to use her properly if you understand the battle system at all. Only true noobs think the game is all about power and don't realise how important speed is, not to mention how good items are.

Amazingly helpful, damn great work man! What makes this so good is that you ALSO told us where to get the items.

I also had Tara Strong sign my FFX-2 manual.

yeah, Rikku was incredibly important - i relied on her really heavily, almost to the point where i ignored the other character's stat building

+hhheeeccckkk526 The guide for the game has a list of all of her mixes as well. If you have the HD remake and the guide for that, it lists all mixes both for Rikku's Overdrive in X and the Alchemist's Mix ability in X-2.

All I gotta say is, thank you D.Kefka for always taking the time to make these videos for us.. I very much enjoy them, and find myself watching the same videos over and over. I never get tired of them.

This is why Rikku is part of my party against superbosses. Her mixes like Hyper NullAll are so dynamic and useful.

Man, I am with you, Rikku has been my all time favorite FF Character of all time ever since X dropped. Shes a Chemist/Monk/Thief Hybrid. That Job Mix H is so fucking good.

I use this whole playlist as a reference. I just wish there was one on the expert sphere grid alone.

It's actually thanks to your videos that I realised how great a character Rikku is, she went from quick steals to most used for me.

I just realized I've never actually beaten ANY of the FF games I own....

Rikku is OP!!!! Is thanks to her and your LP that I beat the dark Aeons and Penance, something I never thought I could ever do 4 years ago when I borrowed the iternational version of FFX for the PS2 from a friend and I encountered those bastards when backtracking for missing items; it was my very first time playing FFX, but still. I probably will never do a NSG challenge myself, but I'm waiting to watch yours, I know it's gonna be a lot of fun.

One thing I like about Rikku in the beginning of the game (when she is ????) is that if you mix 2 grenades on the Tros boss, you instantly win with Flash Flood.

Been replaying FFX since it first came out. This game is my absolute fav and rikku is my fav character. Glad to have this vid to learn her mixes

Actually, Trio of 9999 doesn't make everything do 9999 damage damage. What it does is that it puts your minimum damage or healing at 9999 which means you can have normal potions heal 9999 damage AND deal 99999 damage to Penance, really useful

Done a few playthroughs of this game but never utilized Rikku that much. Doing one now where I plan to make her one of the main 3. Trio of 9999 is probably one of the strongest moves in the game.

Back in the day , first walk through, I was fighting Sin from the airship; about to unleash graviton and wipe out my party. Rikku's 0verdrive was full so I mixed 2 Items and for the life of me cannot remember what they were, but it made something called California Sun-something... Sunburst? All I remember was a HUGE heat seeking blast of light and it was Byebye Sin. I was like YES!! I appreciated the value of Rikku's skills, used her plenty, even maxed HP to 9999, along with Yuna, Tidus and I believe Auron.

Very informative video DK! Admittedly I never really used Rikku to her full potential in my previous playthroughs, and I never really go after the ubers. I was always more of a Lulu guy because...boobs, first off...second off, I haven't had that much of a problem finishing her celestial weapon on multiple playthroughs, and she makes the rest of the story missions laughably easy. I will have to use Rikku more often in my next playthrough! :)

it 2023 and im figuring out to learn rikku overdrive cause they are handy rikku is by far the best party member to have.

My fav move so far for capturing is chaos grenade and black hole. Oh and thanks for the quick setup :D

Rikku, mechanic girl/steals awesome stuff for the party/cool costume/agile/resourceful/desert nomad. She was my favorite character in FF X

welp..at least i know now how to use rikku to her fullest...somewhat x.x..shes difficult with mixes but great for gettin the items for it, thanks for the enlightenment there

your vids on this game are still really useful to this day. Kind of wish we could get a re-release of Lost Odyssey where the game has battles moving in and out as fast as FFX. Its the only game i know of with a similar battle system

I actually have to thank you for reminding me how useful Rikku is, DK:D She is a lifesaver especially when you do NSG run or in my case ANSG:D But I still haven't beaten Evrae in FFX so well, maybe I need some more itemsXD

Hyper Mighty Guard got me through those later Dark Aeons. Thank fuck for Rikku!

Rikku the sole reason why No Sphere Grid + No Zanmatto challenge is beatable, the only bosses that can't be beat with NSG+No Zanmatto is Penance, Dark Aeons, and Nemesis.

Had this game sense 2010 lol Nice to see it's still being played today! XD Rikku ftw! She is so cute, if I were Tidus, I'd pick her.

Idk if you have done this, but do you think you could do a video on Bribing, and more specifically, the monsters you need to bribe to get the best and most useful items, how much the bribes will cost, and quantity? I know there are bribe lists out there already, but I would be interested in seeing what you focus on the most when farming for items.

You can also use magic defense spheres you get from fighting one eye to make the chaos grenade. I use one eye for the gil trick and I already have 99 magic defense spheres

Im on my first playthrough off Final Fantasy X and so far i have found her completely useless but after watching this shes not as useless as i thought she was.

Yo. Rikku, Yuna, and Lu are my main sqaud too lol.

I stumble across your video at the time I replaying this game in 2024. I'm more of a Lulu's on my taste, but Rikku is always on my party on all of my play through. She got Steal, Mix, Bribe, and easy Celestial. Makes her useful in early, mid, late, and super late game. She is useful in any kind of run. No sphere grid, speed run, late game grinds, super bosses, anything. Her mix is just nasty utility. This is why she is one of my permanent choice replaying FFX. Up there among with Yuna because of her aeons (Aeons overdrives is just a blatant "I win" button for many early bosses). Yuna celestial also easy to get. ...and Lulu because of her potential. She only useful as babysitter for early new players up to Macalania area enemies, after that other characters start being better. She isn't useful in mid to late game at all. Her Onion Knight is annoying to get without the crater soundless tips. Tho, she got huge "Potential" that I cant ignore. Its also the reason I don't give her Auto-haste because both her "Potential" jiggles weird. I hope FFX remake somewhere in the future will fix her.

Been looking into the Don Tonberry ap trick to help towards filling all grids trophy. But what advantage does casting overdrive do? I read that you have to have the main character be the focus of Don's attacks and have the other two team mates have comrade overdrive mode and ideally both have at least double ap weapons to get in on that juicy ap. But I don't get the requirement for Rikku to give you overdrive in this scenario. Cheers for any further advice you can give on this. Playing the PS4 remaster if that means anything.

Dante Ishimura they need overdrive > ap on the weapons too. Hence her overdrive ability eccentric gives 2x overdrive rate. Meaning more ap on top of the double overdrive or triple overdrive. It stacks

@@danteishimura9189 oh yeah, it took me forever to get rikku one i think. So last hitting the boss with the character increases the chance for that character. Or killing with an Aeon is just a random chance for everyone. Also ultima drops the weapons already premade if you're able to basically one shot ultima.

What are the Dark Aeons and Penance? I only played the original FFX so i dont know what the difference between the PS2 and HD versions.

Quick question. When it comes to FFX, you are the authority. Is there any hint, tip, or trick you have on getting through the chocobo races in the calm lands? I've one done it once on the original ps2 release and it was pure luck. Anything besides patience and a stiff drink?

***** patience, and a stiff drink. The HD Version has a glitch where even if you get a time of 0:00.00, you still won't get Tidus' shit. You have to get a time of -0:01.00 (which the game displays as 0:00.00) to get the sigil. I ran into that with my LP.

I dont think that's a glitch. The minigame actually requires a time less than 0:0.0. Getting 0:0.0 exactly wont count.

trio of 9999 is still useful right up to and including the dark aeons and penance. Get auto potion, trio of 9999 and 99 potions and hi potions and profit

Personally I really love Tallboy. It may not be the best but I would be lying if I said it didnt finish off many fights for me. Including hilariously enough Dark Yojimbo.
