I may have my problems with the game...but will ALWAYS defend it's battlesystem. 1 of the very best versions of the ATB in the series.

The story without a doubt has quite some flaws but the battle system is what keeps me coming back. In my opinion the best in the entire series.

I absolutely adore the combat system in this game. I think it is the peak of all final fantasy combat. I don't much care for the story, but the combat is so good.

I miss how disgustingly overpowered the Cat Nip accessory was in the original game. Cat Nip + Trigger Happy was usually enough to destroy most bosses including Trema, but sadly Cat Nip got nerfed HARD by inflicting berserk on whoever wears it.

You should be able to beat trema if you mix the miracle drink, then with the other two characters quickly use Physics Guard and Magic Guard to nullify his other attacks, Physics and Magic Guards last way longer then Excellence, at that point the only thing that can kill you is meteor, which if you keep track of his HP should be relatively easy to know when he will do it. Also Excellence and Miracle Drink invincibility lasts longer if you're using attacks with charge times, as they pause any status timers while you're in charge time.

Hobestly I am glad I came back to this game over a decade later to beat it in the Remaster Edition on PS4. I played the OG X to completion and a bit of X-2 but did not get too far. So I am glad to beat the game added with the International Content. X-2 has some of the best renditions of ATB ever made.

after yuna solo it seemed to me, that this was easier for u. (which it is not) amazing job. btw also the yuna solo video, I LOVE how u edit, comment, talk, pace (besides the hard challenges itself) its really perfect. i dont skip anything cuz its so well done! even if u wouldt show more, i wouldt totally watch it! anyways how u do these ff vids IS perfect!!

We need more ffx2 content, like beating the game with the worst 3 dresspheres would be cool

Challenge idea. Completed it by myself including all super bosses that way. Changing dress spheres is not allowed but changing garment grid is. This way ffx2 gets a touch of typical FF with already fixed strengh and weaknesses in there starter jobs .

So you built your own XP-0 mod with my info very fine 👍

interesting to see a lack of use of annihilator from gun mage, that thing ignores magic defense so it might be worth a shot against trema

I got a question. Do attacks under Catnip’s Berserk proc critical hits? Because if the boosted damage from a crit pushes you into actually causing damage in the first place, then perhaps the use of Felicity and a blood sacrifice to RNGesus could net you the win. Eventually. Dunno, I’m not really familiar with FF in general.

So you did make the 0 exp mod somewhat, I thought I may do it myself if you didn't, currently doing my own mod but I think i can do 0 exp for all monsters when I get to change them as well. I'm the idiot who hijacked your thread btw.. grats on the run :D

The video description actually has a download with all the .bin files that I changed. Might want to download those to make it easier on you if you actually want to edit all enemy data :)

Unfortunately Trema is immune to all Breaks, so raising my own stats was the only option and it still wasn't enough. But we got through everything else so thats something :D

Close to two years since this challenge, you seem due for a new one. Is Items only solo Rikku with some kind of leveling handicap viable?

Know what better game you can do this challenge on? FF12 Zodiac Age with New Game Minus.

For chac you could've had it in continuous hitstun by using 3 theifs and never letting it even get a turn in 😆 it's actually kinda funny

Try FFXII Zodiac Age at level one. With just vann.

Side note why does final fantasy games always have the most cryptic steps to getting certain gear or things like story percentage???

If you use Creature Creator, then yes.

The 99.8% is insane,! Too bad about the last 0.2%, but still really impressive!

Did you watch the video lol. You can basically complete chapter 1 on level 1 not too hard even for a casual play through

@The DMS Not without the hack to make it possible to set the game to a no EXP game. Without that, you can't change equipment to give you no EXP during the mission to get Yuna's garment grid back, so somebody is gaining EXP.

The battle system was a refreshing change from what we had in FFX. It allows all characters to master different job classes. Unfortunately, the story leaves much to be desired. It was just underwhelming.

That sounds impossible.

No, no, no, no. Listen! The battle system and the dressphere system are fantastic! In my opinion, it's the best the franchise has ever had. But the story and plot truly ARE very bad!

Wow I didn’t think any jrpg could be beaten at level 1. But it seems this game is pretty broken in terms of balance lol.

It's not broken in terms of balance and there are a lot of JRPGs where this is a thing. Even FFX had its own version of this where you didn't put anything into the sphere grid (which essentially kept all characters at level 1). I mean, did we watch the same video where he had to put a TON of extra work and strategizing in so that he had any hope at all of beating bosses and that some of them relied entirely on trying again and again until he got lucky with the RNG?

I'd say the opposite. Any games that make you do that are very balanced. It makes more diverse strategies aside from higher stats to dominate your enemies.

Saying you like X-2 is like saying you got bullied at school.
