Lol true yeah this has weird dialogue but it is a ff game and also done by team ninja and tecmo koei known for dynasty warriors which is known for it's infamous translation anyways. I think it is fitting that buffmaister has him wearing the black knight like outfit especially knowing who he becomes

So in my understanding, Lufenians are perfectionists who dump all darkness in their world into Cornelia and send Strangers to clean up after since they can turn into chaos. Jack and his team, after countless loops, got emotional, went rouge and planned to sever the Lufenian's influence over Cornelia by becoming Chaos. The four fiends we fought in this game were our friends in past failed attempts. Only in the last loop did he successfully become Chaos. By controlling the darkness, he gives the Cornelians the reason to fight to forge the warriors of light. With light and darkness in clash, the world can now exist in balance even without Lufenian's intervention. Then, he creates a time loop by sending the four fiends 2,000 years into the future where WoLs are destined to clash with himself, knowing full well that he will be defeated because he understands the WoLs more than anyone, and have them send him back 2,000 years into the past, all this to ascertain that the cycle will persist. If we go by this logic, does this mean that the WoLs in FF1 ruin his plan by breaking the cycle and changing history altogether?

Here's my take-aways. Bear in mind that I have yet to play this gem. In one timeline, Jack lives for 2000 years and wrecks shop until Warriors of Light come and relight the crystals. In the other, Jack is killed, leading to a world without heroes because it's already been saved. In either case, Lufenia can't dump darkness willy-nilly into the world anymore because it either results in a FF3-esque Flood of Darkness, Jack breaking into Lufenia via the Strangers they send, or the Cornelian Warriors of Light creating a world with no need for heroes by tipping the scales decisively in favor of Light. No matter how many times Lufenia resets things at this point, Jack accomplishes his goals by rewriting history and destroying the entire system Lufenia's been using.

By that point in time, the Lufenians have been completely decimated by Tiamat and are brought to near extinction, with only a handful of survivors remaining and no way for them to counter attack. The WoLs in FF1 manage to stop the loop and create a world where Jack lives and never has to become Chaos, while the Lufenians are still completely fucked over. So, in the end, Jack gets to have his cake and eat it, too. Unfortunately FF1 doesn't mention if Jack's FRIENDS get their happy endings alongside him.

But then we also have the tie in with Dissidia that hinted at this lore way back then. Having Cid of the Lufenians who pretty much instead fully intended to create Chaos in order to forge the strongest weapon to wield. Going as far to make deals with Shinryu to reset the world over and over, forging countless fights of light against darkness endlessly to feed Chaos. But in the end Shinryu breaks their partnership with the intent to devour Chaos's power for himself so he can become even stronger. (and its even implies he lost to Feral Chaos)

@@whocares9908 But that is the thing, in the original ff 1 game, even when it says the WoL broke the cycle, by the end of the credits says "Garland is waiting" so he didnt break shit.

This is a pretty sick 4 fiends origin. But kinda weird that the fiends fought themselves.

It will explain later. On theory, the fiends we see are the present in the timeloop. The only lying on the floor is the memories of them. You can see why they keep asking Jack questions where he doesn’t answer so they think he doesn’t know and keep him in the end of the mission. The fiend might actually die in the first time loop

Goddamn, that final cutscene of Chaos in the castle was beautiful! Gives me the same vibes that Soul Calibur 3’s opening did with its nightmare segments.

One day SE should make a big budget FF1 remake that incorporates all the weird, cool nonsense that's been retcon'd into it via Dissidia and SoP.

As campy as the dialogue was through out this entire game (among other minor criticisms), this was an interesting direction to modernize the origins of the FF1 story, without being convoluted as hell compared to FF7 RE's fate bs in the final half. And if it also has to be said for memes sake...Chaos, was in fact, the friends Jack made along the way.

Damn i saw resemblance garland with lelouch now. I really like how SE bring the new story for the chaos warriors. When i first play ff1 garland were outright madman, but now with this i can symphatize with what he had gone through. Ah not to mention the warrior of light silhouette at the end were cool

@@yezki8 That "vanilla build" WoL is the Classic Red WoL skin from Dissidia 012. (My fave skin from my 2nd main) The WoL built like that in the silhouette is probably the WoL that can also take down all other primary antagonists of other FF titles in a 1v1 match. XD

@@yezki8 Pretty much. I mean in 1 at the beginning you can choose your classes and evolve them later . My Warrior of light was a Monk/Martial Artist with his friends a thief, a red mage, and a light mage( Cause every team needs a good healer) But besides that the Warrior of light and his comrades are pretty low when they fight Garland. He is kinda the first boss. Personally I was level 20 when I killed him. It was kinda easy.

That intro of the OST when that blue crystal room appears was pretty epic.

So the Lufenians were the villains all along...they controlled the story line of the first final fantasy in this endless cycle....

The dialogue is so fucking dumb and I love it. And that stupid filter on Jack's voice is just as good.

They need to remake FF1 so it can line up perfectly with this one. They must because I'm so excited!

......the first song to come as Garland says who the heck do you think you are....fits the scene perfectly....this stand up to the true evil moment......perfect......you can hate this game all you want...but this moment here....was perfectly done!

He became Chaos to tell the Lufenians to piss off, then manipulated the scenario from his time loop so as to raise worthy Warriors of Light from the Cornelian natives using his and his friends' experiences from their quest, so that Cornelia can defeat him (Chaos) without the meddling of heartless otherworlders playing God. Guy became darkness manifest just to make a complete farce of a prophecy real by his own hands, even if it meant becoming the villain never to be with his princess again...

It's a prequel but also a remake. Like remaking the timeline from scratch.

Using runic guard made you invincible and you can infinite combo in phase 2 cause you have infinite MP. KILLING CHAOS WITH MORE CHAOS 😜

That scene played at the very beginning of the game too. This video doesn't show the credits roll that comes between the arrival of the warriors of light and that scene, but I think they repeated it after the credits so that you would be able to understand it with all the context the story gives you, and so they could close the game the same way it started -- thus confirming the loop, in a way.
