It's probably in the comments somewhere, but it's so much easier to line a sheet pan with foil and bake bacon instead of doing it on a stove top. Plus, you can cook more at one time! I put the bacon on an oven-safe wire rack that sits in the pan to help it crisp better, too.

I don't have children , so as much prep isnt needed , i probably wont have to prep as much either. Either way i plan on finishing everything in a day.

I have been doing freezer meals for 2 years now probably. Idk why she liked your comment but didn’t answer lol!!!! Anyways, it really depends on what you are reheating. With the breakfast burritos, you could get away with heating them frozen but they will come out kind of gummy if you do that so I suggest you thaw a weeks supply and warm them as you go wrapped in a paper towel. When you run out, thaw another batch! The pancakes and French toast are so easy for us. We pop them in the toaster oven for like 10 minutes or so right out of the freezer! The breakfast sandwiches are also something you wanna thaw first because if you go right out of the freezer, they get kind of gummy. If for some reason you forgot to defrost something, just wrap in a damp paper towel and heat up to counteract the bread from getting too chewy. For casseroles and lasagnas, I would thaw them overnight first. If you toss them in frozen, you will be waiting for hours on end seriously.

Just freezer tip: do a quick freeze of items laid out individually then bag. Ensures items are frozen individually, not sticking together for easy removal. Works well for us always, we refreeze almost anything that ends up in freezer including meats.

If you wrap the burritos in wax paper instead of the plastic wrap or foil, you do not need to unwrap them at all to “nuke” them in the microwave. You can warm them up wrapped in wax paper! You can also STILL store the wax paper wrapped breakfast (or dinner!) burritos in the freezer inside the Freezer Ziplock Baggies.

  • @mags506

Donna Norris well most plastic wrap can actually be put into the microwave. for the paper towel wrapping usually it’s a wet paper towel to invite moisture back into the burrito so it’s not too dry

I make Breakfast Burritos too, but to save you a step, just lay them out on a cookie sheet like you did with the pancakes, freeze them and once they are set/frozen, you can add them to a Ziplock Bag. I have my kids pick one out the night before and put it in a tupperware and place in fridge at night. Next morning they put on a plate, nuke it for 1 min and I like to grill on both sides with cooking spray (about 1 more minute) to crisp it up. My husband just nukes them for a minute each and eats them! If you forget to defrost in fridge overnight, you can pull them out, do Auto Defrost for about 2.5 min in the microwave, then nuke for one minute to heat through.

Trick for french toast- freeze the bread the night before. Bread doesn't get soggy or soak up too much liquid doing this. Also after french toast is made freeze on a cookie sheet single layer after frozen stack in your bags and they won't stick together ❤

I'm watching this thinking "why have I never done this before??" None of us are morning people and I'm always rushing my kids with their bowl of cereal or oatmeal or grits in the morning. I only make homemade breakfasts on the weekend. My husband always complains about how he wished he had made something for breakfast before he left the house. Then I feel horrible. These are all things that I would make on a weekend morning and never once thought of power cooking breakfast to freeze! Side note, I make a similar breakfast casserole, only I use a can of cresent rolls...roll it out and press it down on the bottom of a 13x9 pan then your meats, veggies, cheese, then pour the egg mixture over and bake as you did, but more like 25 minutes or so. Very yummy and maybe a better alternative to white bread as far as texture. Thanks again for this! Now I want to cook breakfast!

Great video! I'd I may make it suggestion for multitasking, you could always cook your bacon in the oven while making the pancakes/french toast. I've been making it that way for over 3 decades and it just saves me time, plus it keeps the bacon flat and I get to save the bacon grease for cooking later. Thanks for the great recipes!

Love your freezer meal days. I bought the big deaper rectangle tupperware from the Dollar Tree. I stack the pancakes in there. You could do the same and skip the bags. I actually stopped freezing them and made a weeks worth. Since my 4 boys ate them fast enough. Sometimes the tupperware is hard to spot or sold out. They are 6.8 qt.

I cannot wait to try if not most, all of these! Ooh, also an amazing alternative to using so many plastic ziploc bags could be any type of reusable and recyclable meal prep and storage containers. They can be pretty cheap but even the pricier ones are cheaper in the long run, compared to how much you would spend on ziplocs. It's also pretty awesome how significantly the amount of waste produced declines as well!
