the hitboxes on these butterflies are absolute cancer

Whenever I miss a blue butterfly, I die a little inside. The hardest part is the amount of butterflies that spawn in your stomach.

I just completed the butterfly hunt and my first chest was Mp sphere and last one was ether... rip

excellent work as always Simon- bought back some memories, was lucky enough to one and done this game.

This was great! I did end up beating the 1st course you did after battling 2 butterflies. I just remembered where I had to start running and it helped! (Just like the racing at the temple after jumping)

Eyy Fuzz how are you doing! Well done again. Some things we have to complete once in our ff gaminglives😄. This was one of them also! Good tutorial again. I had to max my tv brightness to see the blue butterflies better. Missed the Sigil once, because I ran out of screen aarrghh😂

Good video. I like that for the platinum you only have to get the ultimate weapons and not power them all up. I powered up the weapons for main end game team of TWR. then went after capturing all of the creatures around Spira ending up in the omega ruins.

I tried to complete this quest for months. I didn't want to refer to a wiki or guide but...here i am lol. But thank you for your video, finally able to complete one of the mini games. I am currently still throwing my controller after somewhere around 50 dodges when i inevitably again get drilled by lightning 😢

The input lag, controller direction shenanigans, and hit boxes on the remaster are obscene. This helped but I question if it was worth it. I could have crafted a better weapon... This was the hardest minigame by far for me. I got the two chocobo ones within like 5 tries. This was a nightmare simply because of the controls. I almost just ignored it since I don't use Kimarhi and it isn't required for a trophy. Give me 25 hours of grinding over these any day of the week. Man, thank god the other PS3-PS4 FFs weren't so obnoxious.

Hey fuzz loving the ffx sidequest guides (the lightening dodge was xlass) can you do the rem temple chocobo race as this is the only trophy I need for my platinum

So you can do this before and after the first walk through(like when you first get to this location)? and I’ll get the ether and mp sphere, then go back after you get the airship, and re due it again to get the other two items, teleport sphere, and the Saturn sigil ? Orrrrr save the first go around til get the airship first then go back and do the hunt??

The first track took me AGES and the second one was much easier. Got my saturn sigil!! Now all I have left is the dodging bolts, not looking forward to it...

Should i do the chocobo race first before i do the butterfly mini game?

can anyone tell me if you are able to save in between courses and take a break?

What version are you playing because in the original ps2 version it is impossible to collect the seven butterflies at the times your getting them.

I beat the first butterfly hunt And the chest that popped up only have a mp sphere in it

i did this but my timer is in blue.. and some butterflies behind i do not have.. And i tink i have done it but i get elixirs or something.. kinda confused

I remember doing this way back on my PS2 and went *NOPE* this was the hardest Side Quest for me. I didn't have too much trouble with the lightning dodge and Chocobo race.

@@FuzzfingerGaming After watching the video, this challenge seemed a lot easier in retrospect. As I mentioned before, can't w8 for the inevitable FFX Remake, which I'm sure they will do away with super annoying side quests.

I find the lightning dodge quite irritating as my reflexes suck. I remember getting absolutely mad back then, but eventually made it after *many* hours. I'm playing the HD remaster version on PC now, and I plan to program a bot to do this automatically by analyzing the screen color, detect the white screen flash and place an input. I don't care, this is how I'm getting it done this time. Too old for this sh*t.

Can you take a break between the two chases ? For ex blitzball

Butterfly catching is a memorising task mainly because the red butterflies are hard to see and it's worse on the ps2 version. Thankfully the paths never change, apparently if you do this before the airship you get more time also getting hit by the red butterfly costs 2 or 3 seconds on the clock. The easiest sigils are time consuming or Yuna's assuming you haven't missed any destruction spheres because of the dark aeons.

But what if I have already opened the chests? If I collect all 7 butterflies, I still get the opened chest. What can I do in this case? What am I doing wrong??!!!! 😭😭😡

I always found this one easy, but I hate the Chocobo races, my last file I genuinely quit because I got hit on the finish line and got 0.2 🤬😂

Loved all ff games but never really got on with ffx, i remember as a kid being so disappointed there was no over world, or world map as some call it, may give it a go again its only a few quid on steam 🙂 cheers fuzz for this one 👍

You’re welcome Darth. Yes, the lack of a world map is disconcerting after coming from the previous games. I discovered recently there was going to be one for the airship but time constraints prevented the development. Ah well, The game itself is still a lot of fun I think.

This is so frustrating, I run catch butterly, easy to avoid red one, but the issue is it throws me into battle before I even get to move, and after that it's just chaos, fight after fight and not a single red butlerfly close by, example: as I turn the corner 3 reds, dodge those and on the straight no red or blues, but throws me into battle, everytime, I think there has to be some glitch with the remastered HD version.

I've been trying to do this shit for 2 hours and I can't get to the ramp in under 15 seconds.....can't figure out what I'm doing wrong

Chocobo balloons is pretty tricky but I think its sometimes a matter of luck

It’s rng based you can go 100x without enough balloons on the course I think they fixed it in remastered cause I was getting good runs every 3/5 but I got it on like the 2nd try just wanted to see how bad it was in this version it’s way better I never found it difficult just a time waster if not enough balloons at start

This one is more about practise more than RNG, the chocobo stuff on the other hand is just rough all round!

Many people have commented they don't get the same items. Why?

not gonna lie, it's pretty hard either flies at times if you're even just a little color blind like me.

This is completely glitched for me. Repeatedly will not allow me to catch last butterfly.

After 22 years playing this game I *finally* got the Spirit Lance upgraded. Thank you sooo much.

I got both chests but no crest I got a mega elixir instead

I beat this just fine in 60 minutes before I got the airship. Now that I have it they need to make it harder??? You do not have enough control over Tidus for this to even be fair. At one point I move the joystick to the right and he doesn't move! He just keeps going straight! I wish they made these mini games just a little easier. Then they would have been fun. Instead they make you want to cry and rip your hair out and just beat the game so you can get it over with. This would be my favorite Final Fantasy if it weren't for the butterflies, lightning, and chocobo mini game for key items plus the way overpowered side bosses. The side bosses are overpowered enough to make these games a little bit more douable!

For me... The lightning dodge is the very annoying once. Everything else is doable with ease.
