Thanks for making this so comprehensive. Every time I end up at end game it's always under diffent circumstances. It is so good to have something that has target armors, items, where they come from, alternative sources/bribing locations, and strategies that coincide with the other endgame content putting the whole grind into a very clear context. If I have to whatever reason watch it over again it's only 11 minutes.

Ah that's interesting. After capturing everything, he should be stronger if you finish his own path off and move onto Tidus' or Auron's.

Sending Auron through tidus route gives him quick hit which can deal with one eye quickly when auron is strong enough. You can also get it with a skill sphere it’s a worthwhile grab.

Wow, I knew Anima was strong but not THAT strong! One Eye gets owned with a 210k+ overdrive from Anima! This helped me out a ton during my random sphere grid playthrough, thank you so much!

Thanks for these videos although I’m now watching when I’ve captured one eye but haven’t got 10 of all the fiends in Spira. All those beautiful hard earned dark matters going to waste, sigh. Hopefully this comment gets pinned so minimal stats for all dark aeons plus penance are: Strength 255 - (Juggernaut) Defence 255 - (Tanket) Magic def 255 - (One eye) Luck 120 - (greater sphere for luck node and Earth eater fortune spheres) Evasion 170 - (Pteryx) Accuracy 255 - (Hornet) Agility 170 - (Fenrir) (Magic is not needed) Hope this helps someone who just needs to know minimal Stats I know it's mentioned in the videos but just for the people who come look for this in comments before watching

I was worried I'd struggle to beat one-eye (missed a destruction sphere so i'm without anima) but was pleasantly surprised. My strength stats are still pretty low, but wakka attack reels 9999 * (8 - 10 hits); tidus limit break = 40k or more. With auto haste I was able to have tidus quick hit for 30k a few times and if i got unlucky with reels or whatnot I'd just summon Bahamut who would either kill one eye or at least take damage. Thanks for your videos!

Just get yojimbo man, he is easy to get and grand summon him to deal with dark aeons. That’s how I killed Valerie who was blocking me from anima. Easy win

I virtually only ever use those 4 characters in the endgame portions when I play now. The completionist in me always used to want to use 7 characters, but the efficiency maniac in me now recognises that it's better to just use those 4. You can easily learn the Breaks with Tidus, Wakka and Rikku so Auron is just slower and worse then. Kimahri is coll but doesn't specialise in anything and his Overdrive is poor, and Lulu is just terrible.

Finally got the damn Sun Sigil after YEARS of attempting it on and off haha (mostly off). Lets get this started

Great content man, I'm one of those that missed the besaid Destruction sphere so trying to put the pieces together to get past dark valefor and that starts with OD to AP, double OD gain custom plus triple AP gain drops from One eye! I haven't caught all 10 of each type yet so will try that to update Auron celestial and get Kimharis while I'm at it those seem to be the easiest to get. My main goal is Anima and Magus sisters so hoping I can level Yuna enough to make the aeons do some heavy lifting! Is magic the most important stat for the story aeons damage? I was thinking of taking Yuna to Rikku path 2nd, is that better than Lulu's path? Sorry for long post but these past few weeks I've been really into this game!

You should be good to go even without using Dark Yojimbo in Valefor tbh man. She really isn't that tough. If you beat One Eye using the method shown at the end of the video (the Auron 1HP one) then you can kill One Eye. If you can do that, you can do the Don Tonberry trick, and from there easily boost your attack high enough using the regular grid to be able to smash Dark Valefor using 3 characters and Celestials. If you really want to, you can use the 30 Wings to Discovery to customise a Break HP limit/Auto-Phoenix armour for one character with over 9999k HP. The only attack DV has that can go over 9999 is her Overdrive, so if the BHPL characters has full HP before her regular turns, they can't die and they'll resurrect the others. Then switch in Yuna and summon an Aeon to block DV's Overdrive if her gauge is full. Edit: I believe the regular Aeons Overdrive damage goes off Magic, and Anima's is Strength. All Yojimbo's regular attacks are Strength-based.

Hey start by paying yojimbo 2040 Gil every fight over and over again. It will increase the affinity level you have with him. After a couple hundred encounters with him. He should be hitting Zanmoto every other turn. For 2040 Gil.

I like One eye since the equipment drops sell for loads of gil, then I bribe for chocobo wings to make all my auto-haste armors.

Hey man I dont expect a reply but if you could then would be mad helpful. How did you get to the strength you were at before you started grinding One Eye and Don etc? My characters are Tidus, Auron, Wakka. I've got ultima/holy etc but tidus is at 70 strength, Auron at 75 and Wakka at 54. I have 5 celestial weapons with sigils and 2 left to get, all aeons, not fought sin yet.

Check out the rest of Overpowered playlist on my channel; it covers a few of the things that made me so strong by this point. One of the main things is definitely do all the capturing before taking on any of the arena monsters. You get a ton of AP from Inside Sin and Omega Ruins in particular. Also, make sure you've used the 3 Strength Spheres from dodging 50 lightning bolts, and the one from revisiting Yojimbo's fayth. Put those 4 Spheres next to each other somewhere where multiple characters can easily use them, like next to Quick Hit on the Standard grid, and then get multiple characters to use them (by using Teleport, Friend or Return Spheres).

@@DPhoenix237 this is actually so helpful that last part, I have been grinding omega because I haven't been inside Sin yet, I didnt know that the point of no return was halfway inside Sin so I was scared to go haha. I've started capturing and got aurons sigil etc so well on my way now. I actually discovered the strength spheres at thunder plains through one of your vids so tysm. I already had yojimbo sphere due to curiosity to the fact you can return and accidentally being shat on by dark yojimbo teehee. Quick hit trick helps so much though, again thanks man. I will watch your overpowered series as I've played a lot but never been as OP as I'd like to be.

is there a way to kill one eye without the celestial weapons? i cant obtain none of them, and also did not know anima and magus sisters was obtainable

Sorry if I have missed it. But what is your final armour setup? I have auto haste, auto phoenix, auto protect and ribbon for Rikku .. not sure what to do for Tidus and Wakka. I don't have anymore dark matter after using it on Rikku

This is what I do. I gave Rikku ribbon. Set Yuna to comrade so if someone is K'O, Yuna's overdrived is filled. So I play with Yuna , Auron, and Rikku. Rikku and Yuna both have Esuna. Use auto-life on Yuna and Rikku if I need to. and then if Yuna doesn't have full Overdrive, I use Auron's entrust and gives his Overdrive to Yuna and then on Yuna's turn, just use Grand summon Anima and oblivion. That's it For One Eye

If dark aeons get in the way for anima, use yojimbo max overdrive and pay like half of what you have to guarantee a zanmato on them.

No need to spend that much money, there's a trick you can do to get a near-guaranteed Zanmato in the monster arena. I tend to pay 512 A few years back when I last played, I would just save and load until I got the kill. There's an insanely complicated formula behind it, but apparently something like 512 has exactly the same chance as 1024, 2048, etc, so why pay the higher numbers right?

That's not true man, it depends on the Zanmato level of the enemy, and also which option you chose when recruiting Yojimbo. It increases at each interval of pay that you said, meaning 512, 1024 etc etc In principal the effect is more or less the same though. If you're going to Zanmato the Dark Aeons, you might as well just save before each one, go in with Yuna's overdrive and Grand Summon Yojimbo, then pay him a bunch and see if he uses Zanmato, soft reset if not and repeat. Boring, and a bit pointless...but doable. It helps if you raise his compatibility first by fighting loads of random encounters and paying him 1024 gil each time until he is regularly using Wakizashi (hitting all) or Zanmato, even before you get the option to pay him.

​@@DPhoenix237 Ah gotcha, but I just double checked the formula breakdown and it states that powers of 2 have the exact same effect. Unless I'm reading it wrong? I'll quote the guide; "As you know, Yojimbo requires money to battle. This is the amount of money that you pay him (little advice, pay him in powers of two, 1024 gil will have the exact same effect as 2047 gil)." It looks like it goes waaaay more into depth than that though, so I could be wrong

how do you get yuna's victor overdrive mode?

Just win a bunch of fights with her in the frontline. Any fights outside the Monster arena will do.

One eye is only in the species conquest right? Are the fiends all maxed out in that category?

Yeah it's a Species creation fella. When you say 'maxed out' do you mean how many of each Eyeball creature do you have to capture? If so, you need 4 of each Eyeball. I always capture 10 of everything right away though.

Yeah, they're extremely strong compared to regular enemies. If you follow the order and strategies in the walkthrough it makes it a lot easier though.

Been grinding one eye for hours and I can't get Yuna or Lulu's triple ap weapons to drop :(

I'm confused, im pretty sure I followed the Don Tonberry trick to a T. But when I flee from the battle it says no AP earned. What could cause that?

Make sure the character getting hit has Stoic and the other two have Comrade, and that when you flee everyone has taken a turn and is alive at the time. So basically defend with other two at least once each.

Nah you never need to raise it other than raising Yuna's stats, particularly the Strength +4 nodes. Anima's formula for Strength is bonkers so raising Yuna's causes Anima's absolutely skyrocket.

@@deewheels9871 Nope, they only disappear after you beat them. So if you best Dark Valefor, she's gone for good, and so on. Dark Yojimbo is the only one who is different, I cover that in the relevant episodes later

I only beat 1 dark aeon so far dark valefor the guy called me an infidel and i unlocked Nemesis and beat him using the quick hit strategy i used rikku overdrive to get hyper mighty g because he has 2 attacks that kills everyone i got a break damage limit weapon for tidus

I play pretty much perfectly in terms of efficiency now so my characters ends up with high Strength, but you do need the other stats and S-Levels for beating the Dark Aeons and Arena Creations.

Did you use spheres to make anima that strong or just level Yuna?

Just level Yuna for that. Anima's Magic and MP were raised during capturing but that doesn't affect her Strength; her Strength has crazily high multipliers so even if you only activating the additional Strength Spheres I'd put on the grid raises Anima's Strength by LOADS.

Even with 91 str which I raised from 71, his damage was only 74.5k

I get so lost cause I see your stats and I'm like how did he move them and what did he use. I see you moved Wakka and Tidus through Auron path and you moved Rikku through Tidus as well, did you move her through auron as well?

I don’t know how I arrived there but tidus is quick hitting 75kish so I just do that and have auron use hastega with first strike on

Don't get it... in 4:00 it says 24790, but one-eye have 150000 hp... How it kill him?

Yeah that is weird. Usually with the short animation on, it shows the full damage. I think that that clip was edited/cut short and what you're seeing there is just the last hit of the full-animation overdrive because it was the first time that I'd used Oblivion in that playthrough. When you use the full summon animation it shows the damage for each hit separately, so that 24k is the last hit of the 12 total hits (can't remember the exact number of hits tbh) The Overdrive counts the total damage of all hits towards the overkill, so really One Eye took 12 x 24k hits and was EASILY OHKO'd and overkilled.

Yeah, increase Yuna's Strength. If you get the 3 Strength Spheres from lightning dodging and the one from returning to Yojimbo's faith that'll raise Anima's and the Magus Sister's Strength ENORMOUSLY. Or use the Auron method outlined in the video, which is easy to do.

@@vinsongotingco5753 If you watch the Capturing episodes (1 and 2, I think) I talk about raising Anima's MP and Agility whilst Yuna's stats are low so that beating Jumbo Flan is much easier later on. Check out Episode 6 of the Stat Maxing Series too. There are Reddit posts linked in the descriptions for most of them that explain more thoroughly.

They're in a bunch if different areas; if you read the info in some of the subsequent videos I've linked some materials and sites that are really useful for capturing. Or download an app that lets you track your Fiend captures, then you know which ones are in which areas

Is that because you've missed a Destruction Sphere? Use one of the methods for defeating One Eye, as shown in the video. The Tidus/Wakka method is easy if your Strength is high enough. The Auron method is easily doable for anyone regardless of anything else, pretty much, so use that as a last resort if needed.

I got 1 weapon after 20 kills. This is crazy.

@@DPhoenix237 Yeah, broke the streak though and was 50/50 the rest of the way. Legendary RNG. Also playing Japanese version x/x-2 HD remaster, if it means anything.

I must be really under leveled. I've got all but a few of the fiends captured and Anima gets wrecked by One Eye.

Have you done capturing ten of everything in Inside Sin and Omega Ruins? You level up a lot in there. If you already have done and are not too strong, use the Auron method near the end of the video.

@@DPhoenix237 I have some some of Omega. I got far enough to kill Ultima but Omega wiped the floor with me. I haven't been inside Sin yet. Guess I'll finish off the monster capturing then try again. Although, I might try the Auron method, I commented before I got to that part of the video. Thanks for replying :)

You had Distill Ability on a weapon. Don't hit it with anything with Distill on, and don't use the Extract abilities.

I can't beat one eye 😭 and I need to lv up fast to beat at least one of the dark aeons to get anima

just complete tidus,wakka,auron grid and that is 115 strength upgrades, a 2 hit kill. alternative increase Bahamut str/mag with spheres then just punch and overdrive one eye first way is better as repeat summoning/overdrives is really slow.

I’m only missing 3 places for all 10 captures and none of my characters are anywhere near as strong as yours and my anime does like 9k basic ur doing 99k lul.

Yeah, it depends how you play, I guess. When you saying '3 places' though, do you mean 3 full areas? Watch my capturing guides for Inside Sin and Omega Ruins if so; there are some very useful things to know, and you end up much stronger after those areas. Aim to use the Auron method shown here if needed, and get No Encounters and dodge 50 lightning strikes for the 3x Strength Spheres. Massive help.

@@DPhoenix237 I’ve captured at least 1 fiend in every area except sin cuz I havent gone there yet and have 10 in all areas accept for 3-4 areas. I also did 200 lightning strikes yesterday for the first time and since I didn’t know how it worked I ended up over 400 instead of just 200, it was terrible. The only way I’m able to kill one eye right now which I just figured out is to use aurons banish blade? And then anima overdrive.

There's no need to kill it yet though? Finish your capturing first imho. It's up to you, but if you watch my capturing series and this stat maxing guide, you'll see how I recommend doing it.

This is what I do. I gave Rikku ribbon. Set Yuna to comrade so if someone is K'O, Yuna's overdrived is filled. So I play with Yuna , Auron, and Rikku. Rikku and Yuna both have Esuna. Use auto-life on Yuna and Rikku if I need to. and then if Yuna doesn't have full Overdrive, I use Auron's entrust and gives his Overdrive to Yuna and then on Yuna's turn, just use Grand summon Anima and oblivion. That's it.

my Oblivion overdrive doesnt kill him lol

Armour Break him. He has zero resistance IIRC.

Yup yup, if you watch the rest of the walkthrough, I have some really OP techniques which meant that I've basically overkilled pretty much ever enemy from Luca onwards.

I dont understand how your characters have so much stats. My highest str stat is auron at 57. I beat the game and have aurons celestial weapon also. How is it possible my party is so weak. I cant even cheese him with the 1hp sos haste trick because i dont do enough dmg. Also i dont have yojombo magus or anima. Only celestials are auron and kimari. Cant go back for others because of dark aeons. Pls help. Also fuck blitzball not doing that.

Have you watched all the rest of the playthrough episodes, and done all the capturing already? 57 is pretty low for Auron if you've done the Omega Ruins already; you get a ton of AP from there. Doing lightning dodging with no encounters for 50 dodges is really easy and gets you 3x Strength Spheres. They make a huge difference. Why do you not have Yojimbo? If you get him, you can immediately revisit Yojimbo's fayth and get another Strength Sphere. That's 16 total strength just with those 4 Spheres. You only need about 84 Strength to defeat One Eye using that 1Hp + SOS Haste method, so a very short amount of fighting in Omega Ruins would get you that because Auron's grid has a lot of Strength +4s towards the end.

@@DPhoenix237 i did a blind playthrough that i am now trying desperately to correct. So i basically missed everything. Jecht shot, tornado, everything. I did manage to get banishing blade though. I just finished your penance video your insane! Theres just such a huge jump from story difficulty to end game. I will do lightning dodges next. I was working on confuse gear for malboro but cant stand how slow it is. Im wondering if i can even complete the arena because yojimbo will block me Hopefully i can capture don tonberry without running into dark yojimbo. This game is very unforgiving if you don't aquire key items the first time. Maybe i will just battle inside sin or omega for a bit but i get game overs frequently

Nahhhh, the great thing about FFX is there is ALWAYS a way to get started on the endgame grind. Seriously, get the 3 Strength Spheres, and then do all your capturing and get Godhand for Rikku. Hell, you can even beat One Eye just by using Tidus, Wakka and Rikku with 1st strike weapons and using Trio of 9999, then Attack Reels and Slice N Dice.

@@DPhoenix237 i dont even have attack reels because ive neglected blitzball. It seems like its wakka or bust in this game. Auron tricky to use with his hp restriction. Thank you for your quick responses, thats rare by content creators. You just earned a sub! 🤙

You glossed over the most important info like it is just common FFX knowledge.
