Ferrari 250 Testa rossa - A Ferrari Racing icon.
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
Testa Rossa is a legendary name among Auto Enthusiasts, The Ferrari red-head won its first race 64 years ago - and once it started, it couldn’t stop.
The Testarossa was and will forever remain an incredibly important model in Ferraris history. It won 10 World Sports Car Championship victories including the 24 Hours of Le Mans three times, the 12 Hours of Sebring three times, the Targa Florio in 1958, the 1000 Km Buenos Aires twice and the Pescara 4 Hours in 1961. All these results led to World Sports Car Championship constructor's titles for Ferrari in 1958, 1960 and 1961.
Because of this, the Ferrari 250 Testarossa has become one of the most expensive cars in the world. The Ferrari TR has sold in the past at auction for $14 Million dollars, but today it has skyrocketed in price. The 1959 250 Testarossa, of which only 3 were made, is valued at around $60 Million dollars.
What makes the 1959 TR different from the other 30 Testarossa built is that all 3 cars were factory driven, they all have unique gearboxes, were right hand drive cars, and all had their engines offset by 4 inches. This means if you are looking directly at the car the hood scoop and carburetor trumpets will be offset to the right of center by 4 inches.
This particular car in the video is a replica, built to the highest standards of any replica on the planet. Other lesser replicas can be easily spotted by simply looking to see if the engine is centered or not, whereas this car copies every aspect of the original including the engine placement. This car was built by James Allington, who happened to own one of the 3 real 1`959 250 Testarossa’s, which means he was able to have is real car disassembled and copied down to the very last detail.

What an honor and privilege to be one of the chosen few to drive this car that even Phil Hill and Carroll Shelby loved so much ... you deserve a trophy ! Wink ...

Can confirm. Need more trophies.
After watching this, I immediately had to go and watch videos of Pete Giaccobi's tribute car. Just amazing. Thank you Colleen
Lovely thing! Although built as 2-seaters to meet the current regulations, these cars were raced with a single occupant. The offset in the engine was actually to improve the room on the right side of the car for the driver and to balance the weight of the car more evenly across the axles. For those who don't know, they were all right-hand drive because almost all circuits have predominently right turns and the driver's weight would therefore balance some of the cornering force. I know it's an American accent thing, and it is quite cute, but the way you say 'Testa Rossa' actually means 'Pink Head' (testa rosa) in Italian. Always makes me smile.
Clear and extensive explanation of a super nice clone car.
One of THE MOST BEAUTIFUL cars ever designed and built it just is incredible from any angle...what a build! The knowledge and information that Colleen Sheehan explains is absolutely on point she reminds me of Chris Harris with the specific details and little details that most of us do not even know Thank you James Allington for financing and building this work of art (an “affordable” “drivable” Testarossa if that’s even something that can be said) thank you for sharing this!
Well done - gorgeous car! Thank you!
One of the sexiest cars ever made
What a stunner!! Oh to have access to drive one...let alone see such a significant car. Thanks again Colleen
Very well presented video, the Testarossa is one of my fav Ferrari's of all time, they are everything which is cool about Ferrari!!

Definitely one of my favorite ferraris.
Great video. Thank you from Germany. Very nice. 👍
Mr. Love used to race one of these in SCCA, San Francisco region club races. Just another just another race car, 1:16 but I did notice he drove the hay out of it. He had a cool helmet, too.
Gorgeous! And I love Testarosas too! When the other kids had posters of Countachs and 308s on their bedroom walls, I had a poster of one of these and a '62 250 GTO on mine. I got to see 2 GTOs and a Testarosa in person at a NYC auto show in the 80s. I was hooked on both ever since.

@@FerrarisOnline So was your review of a clone of an almost priceless piece of historical automotive art. I can dream of the clone now, there are 3!
Amazing car...beautiful
This channel is so amazing!
Great video, I learned so much👍🏾. Here in New Zealand there is a garage called Tempero cars that build similar replicas/ clone cars of these and other beautiful classics.
Oh my WORD! Is this car not "virtually" priceless? :O Thank you for bringing it to video and shots n sounds!
Your videos are really well produced and you're a great host!
Thank you!
Nice Job Colleen!!
Awesome car. I like the Jaguar D type as well.
Retro cars is amazing.
You gotta love car guys...build me three clones😂😂...God Bless You Sir
Has to be the coolest most beautiful car you have had on your videos, right hand drive, being British that’s super cool, I guess it’s because most tracks race clockwise ?! Love the old crash helmet and goggles! 👍

Thanks, my dad actually wore the helmet and goggles in the mille miglia when he raced his 1957 testarossa.

@@FerrarisOnline that’s so cool, you do have rather a fab job!! 👍
Great video, great car. With prices of the original cars where they are today, the market for tool room copies will be strong, I especially like the Gelscoe Motorsport GT40 and Cobra.
I love your videos! As a classic car nut who is struggling to start a small classic car business in Aberdeen, Scotland, I hope you know how fortunate you are to do the job that you do and where you do it! I love Scotland and the great driving roads but classic cars here are a very seasonal thing - maybe 3 or 4 months a year... gorgeous sunny day today though so I'm off for a drive!

Gran bel video!!😍
Best looking ever! Car is also nice.
Great history on the original, though, this was a special treat still a Historic Example, if money was not an issue would have bought the 2nd, though, would say would still be out of my price range. It like the originals authentic Ferrari's were hand made. Thanks for sharing a lovely example of automotive history. Great Presentation 👦🏻👍🏻🏎🏁

The Beauty and the Beast
I'd guess the flip-up driver-side air intake directs cooling air to the driver. Seems to be set too far back to connect with the engine compartment.

Very good presentation. So the car in the video isn't the one currently for sale? Is there any significant difference between the two cars? Is the one for sale in the USA? Thanks.

There is no difference other than the one for sale being recently restored and seat color. The car that is for sale is currently located in spain. But can be shipped anywhere.

According to the website a " tuned 250 engine fitted with a 6-carburetor setup just as an original 59 TR was equipped".
👏👏👏
i want a 250 TR replica too T_T
I wonder how much it would cost to reclone with modern 3d technology?

Part of the alure of the car is being hand tooled. So not sure it would really be ideal.

why do you call it a clone on the video but a replica on your sales link?

@@FerrarisOnline You said the opposite in the video
its not so much the money as the history that might get wrecked that I think keeps these off the roads, like you consider how bad modern traffic is, and how little driving roads we have left, and its kind of understandable that someone doesnt want to use it anywhere but the mile amilia, that being said Nick Mason and one of the Pontoon fender cars owner do drive it however I know as I actually spoke to him when he was kind of going damn it I could have gone for the GTO as he had the chance to buy one in the 70's, while my mentality was no this is way cooler, its a drop top, its got all that racing history and no movie quite like Ford VS ferrari showed off quite how outdated the 250 GTO became in such a short time span, as they were having CGI ones as the background cars that the p4 and the Ford GT were dusting like nobodies buisness and that was just 2 years AFTER the GTO came out, the testarossa though had a good 5,6 years and looked way better and was just a way more unique car, that being said after seeing and hearing one of the original 250 GTO owners first hand accounts of it, where it was lite, quick and easy to drive, vs say an XKSS that is notchy, kinda stiff and not that good I now understand why that car is worth 80 mill now, and it actually kinda raced against an XKSS with a breadvan in the california back roads at one point which would be the second time steve mcqueen was dusted by a ferrari, one in his XKSS, the other in a porsche powerd dune buggy that went against a distinct white with red accents ferrari daytona spider in a drag race as he was wondering why on earth a dune buggy could keep up till he saw the engine and who was driving lol
250 Testa Rossa, not Testarossa
Also - it’s a hard o not soft. Rossa. Not Rosa.
I'm like Ferrari 250 early.
"This particular car in the video is a replica, built to the highest standards of any replica on the planet. Other lesser replicas can be easily spotted by simply looking to see if the engine is centered or not, whereas this car copies every aspect of the original including the engine placement." Spoiler: 9:48 But this particular car has a modern Denso style alternator that is visible as soon as the bonnet (US: "hood") is opened ! Not exactly "copied down to the very last detail."

0-60 on a real 250 TR is 5.4-5.6 seconds. My Ariel Atom 2 does it in 2.9. An Atom provides a much more exhilarating driving experience at a fraction of the cost.

Don't like the car (sorry, not sorry), but all the info in this video is awesome.
🇦🇷🇦🇷🇦🇷🇦🇷🧉🧉🧉🧉🦁🦁🦁
A clone? A replicar. NOT a Ferrari. But often vintage raced, pretending to be a Ferrari. So that if it's pranged, it won't be such a big loss. This lady has all the straightforwardness of a used car salesman.
30 seconds into the video and you know it's not real. This chick will NEVER be allowed behind the wheel of a real one.
