this video is a work of art,almost perfectly reflecting the emotions,competition and relationship between two of the best pilots in formula one

The ending message is that both of these drivers, despite thrashing each other on the track, still have their times when they make mistakes & are as good as each other, when you see them both winning.

Fernando & Lewis are the best drivers on the grid. Fernando the more reasonable tactical one and Lewis the slightly better one on pure speed. I find that short lived rivalry the most similar thing to the titanic Prost vs Senna battle. Vettel? Not quite extremely gifted as these two. Also, Jenson Button is the only tested driver who is quite near them both. All the other team mates were annihilated by both. And Ricciardo destroyed hs Red Bull team mate who escaped at Ferrari.

Fastest on raw pace=Hamilton. Best all round DRIVER=Alonso. Best F1 Driver to have in your team=Vettel. This is my opinion of course. Stick Hamilton and Vettel in equal cars randomly and I belive Hamilton would juuuust be quicker, might be wrong but most likely that would be the case. But stick Hamilton and vettel in equal teams with equal recourses and Vettel would be able to make the team better than Hamiltons. Many f1 experts and drivers even believe this

@@TheTororist The thing with Vettel is he can be great one year but average or terrible in other. Moreover, he has not had a good season since 2016. 2016 was bad, 2017 was average, 2018 was terrible and 2019 was bad as well. His last good season was 2015, I think he will get beaten even worse by Leclerc next season. And to be fair, I don't think he was ever in the same league as Alo/Ham.

@@sadsadasdsadasdsadas so? It was only for a couple of years, mainly from 2003-07. Alonso scored more points than him in 2012 and 13 with a worser car, and EMBARRASSED him in 2014. Hamilton cracked Kimi as a rookie in 2008 spa and 2008 season. Alonso’s prime lasted for several seasons from 2005-14, whilst Hamilton has always been in his prime, just that in 2011 he crashed a lot and 2013 he was bad at tyre management.

The amount of skill these two would have together now in the same team would easilly match Senna and Prost together

I absolutely love when these two are fighting each other on track now. Because of what they went through at McLaren they both have a huge amount of respect for the other as a driver. So when they get close together, you can see them just turn it up another notch and go after the other, but they fight fair every single time. It's in my opinion, the best rivalry in F1 right now between the two best drivers on the grid.

Alonso didn't fight to have equal status in McLaren but to have a CLEAR number one role. He didn't expect to have such a competitive rookie companion. Also Lewis should had easily won the 2012 title, if it wasn't for his McLaren (and not Jenson's) being an unreliable car. Several races he was leading and had DNF that year.

Tension so thick you could cut it with a knife. Here you have a guy who just won back to back championships against arguably the sports best driver, 7 time champion Schumacher and is now being challenged lap for lap by a ROOKIE, wow.

Alonso is simply the best driver on the grid. His drive last week on finished set of soft tires to take 2nd. Utter class.

He was so scared of him he had to sabotage and cheat to give himself the chance to win, he did not dare race him on equal terms.

Actually, Alonso had problems with the car often in 2007. I think the McLaren didn’t suit him. But being (almost) beaten by a rookie is still not nice tho, even if that one year is not enough to decide who is better. I like both of them btw.

Without being racist I would like to know what the Latin community think of Lewis. Obviously Alonso is the peoples champion which is expected, but there must be some Latin people that can talk about lewis without the sound of hate projecting through!!! The racist attitude towards lewis and his family in the yesteryears along with the few racist comment's on KZread has left me wondering just how deep is the dislike for Lewis. It was great and refreshing to see the Italian people cheer for Lewis at Monza in 2014, you can see he was really touched by the support he received.

Totalmente de acuerdo, tienen el mejor coche en manos de un grandisimo piloto que es Lewis. La lastima es que Fernando y él no se "pelearan" por el titulo ya que mercedes está en otro liga.

It's so weird watching this now, knowing how different there careers went after this. I love hypotheticals so imagine if Alonso was partnered with literally anyone else in 2007. He probably would've won 2007 and 2008. He would've been the golden boy at Mclaren and if he moved to Red Bull/Ferrari after, he would've had alot more controlling power. Getting beaten by a rookie was the worst thing to happen to his career coz that upset his whole career trajectory. He obviously wanted to build something at Mclaren but Lewis killed his dream. And since then Alonso has been unlucky with switching teams. I wonder how often he thinks about what could've been

If you watched 2007 Monaco qualiy vid on youtube and see the reactions of clues(when Alonso broke Lewis's record), you will see that Alonso was hated by them already 6th/17 gp. But say again, I think Lewis did fantastic job, as a rookie, Now, Alonso is regarded as the best driver, and one of the greatest drivers, like schumi and senna. As for Lewis, he is regared as the most closed guy to Alonso, And Their rivalry is just awesome. That's it

@@7Criska Because they wanted the British driver to win the championship in the British car, easy as that. When they saw that Alonso was just better than Hamilton (around the Monaco GP) they started to favour Hamilton so that he would win the title. Nevertheless they couldn’t handle Alonso and they tied. Even Ron Dennis who is the biggest Hamilton fanboy in the world said it was a mistake to favour Hamilton because if they hadn’t McLaren would’ve been able to keep Alonso and would’ve won 2007, 2008 titles easily, possibly 2009 and 2010, 2011, and 2012 if Alonso was behind the wheel of that McLaren.

They even let Alo win in Monaco, but after that they just got tired of Alonso BS and him not shutting his mouth. 09 and 10 and 11 no way Mclaren winning. 2012 it was the engine being ass. And we all know why Mclaren couldn't win it in 2007.

Let me get your point. You mean Ron Dennis signed Alonso (then two-time world champion and best driver on the grid as Schumacher had retired) to simply favor a kid, a rookie who had never made it on the grid and that was just a promise, whose fame was just for being the first black man in the history of F1? Do you really believe that? Did you see the Monaco GP that year??? If it was to favor Hamilton, wouldn't it be much better and cheaper for Mclaren to have hired any driver? Do you really think they hired a two-time champion to be a supporting cast on the team? Please man... Alonso was hired to be champion and win titles by Mclaren. The problem is that there was another equally brilliant driver in the garage next door...

I'm spaniard and fan of Alonso, and I still remeber that year and how Mclaren did it, how alonso lose a championship but... I think that Hamilton is a great driver but he use to crack under pressure, he weak point is that, he have to have everything under control, congratulation for Hamilton fan and his three titles!

For me Lewis is the best driver, amazing, fantastic overtaking, incredible qualifications and fantastic moments he is the reason I watch F1 carreers nowadays he is awesome and the fastest. Alonso is better in the control of the careers, uses the brain and is smarter but when is about driving nobody in this generation can be compared to Lewis he is the number 1.

We can add Verstappen on this list, but if he is to prove himself to be a GOAT candidate he needs to drive for another team in a different environment. But to be fair, Jim Clark only drove for Lotus but he was clearly leagues ahead of everyone else in his time.

Stormie 4ceFed Daniel might be faster than them all. He beat Lewis on Top Gear and although the conditions were much much better for him, he did beat him by a lot and we know that Lewis is faster than Alonzo, and Vettel so that means Ricardo could be the fastest driver in f1

I love their rivalry. They are in their 40s and they are still GOATS... F1 would not be the same without these two... My favourite driver Vs the 7 time world champion, the best chapter to watch in F1. I enjoyed every battle they've had on the track. I'm eagerly waiting to watch more of these two...

anyone o these two could do what vettel does in the red bull and I think even better.The winning recipe is the sum of car driver and support team. Anyone who dosent know that is out of the f1 and living somewhere else.i am not sayin that vettel isn't an excellent driver but in the same casr I don't think he can match Alonso or Hamilton. Alonso's ability to take 110% of any car and his passion in track and Hamilton's creativity and "fighting" ability is some features vettel don't have. Ofcourse he won 4 championships and he is a very very capable driver but as a driver unit he is not the best. As a sum red bull is making the difference(Vettel Adrian+Newy+Renault) Remember the Schumacher+brawn+tod team? That's the winning recipe.

I agree, technically I find Alonso to be one of the best on the track each race. If you put Hamilton, Alonso, or Raikonnen in Vettel's Red Bull, they would be 4 time world champions as well. Unfortunately the Red Bull car is so much faster than the rest of the field and makes the races more interesting when watching the fight for 2nd or 3rd. I am looking forward to Alonso and Raikonnen teaming up next year, going to be a good year for Ferrari I think.

paullydeepfry i agree with -PAULLYDEEPFRY- I have never thought vettel was the BEST DRIVER ON GRID ! It was kind of like when JENSON BUTTON,won his title. I have always thought IT WAS THE RULES,at that time,that gave jenson his title. VETTEL,had a car that was vastly superior,to any other on the grid. Personally,I think hamilton IS THE BEST DRIVER. Maybe,RIGHT NOW i will say NICO ROSBERG is number 2. He not only has a great car,but his skills as a driver,HAVE REALLY BLOOMED. i dont know who i would say,is in third at this point.

Sumit Saurabh but you need a good car to win championships,to win races and lewis has always shown that he deserves to be in top teams.and i can remember that lewis dominated alonso in his rookie season even though alonso came off of winning 2 championships.don't make excuses,lewis is just a beast and theirs nothing you can do about it.

+pabloscarface the v8 era noise was all well and good for for highlight clips but watching an hour and 30min race the sound became monotone, boring, and kind of annoying. The V6 sound much more interesting and the sound quality is much better if they were a little louder nobody could complain. I prefer the sound of this v6t era over the v8 era.

If Alonso was at Ferrari and Verstappen at Mercedes.. It would have been incredible... Lewis and Max Vs Alonso and Charles Lewis vs Alonso And Max vs Charles WOW !

Vettel has had the car built around him and his style every year at redbull. This year the changes are too much for him and his style. He is good just like most of the drivers but Alonso has performed well in every car.

I love your responses to some of these comments, plus I love your films, they have a doubled sense of power and makes you think a lot more than just the surface.

Looking back at these comments, it is now 2019 and Lewis has just taken his 6th world title, I think the argument is mute.....Lewis has proven that he is the greatest driver of his generation, perhaps of all time. Again I say looking from this time line Fernando was just an " also ran " good, but just not good enough.

@@crounfeklow3503 Fernando has tried his hand at driving other types of vehicles in races with mixed results, I agree that he is a great driver, he is just not the greatest. All drivers say the pinnacle of vehicle racing is Formula 1 with that in mind Fernando with only 2 titles was an "also ran" that in itself is no mean feat! But Lewis's 6 titles ( not finished yet) gives him the right to call himself, currently the greatest of his generation, and perhaps by the time he retires the greatest of all time!

An engine is an engine is an engine...they advance with discovery and invention via available technology, ever since motor racing began safety and efficiency is a journey not a destination. Every driver obtains information over the radio during a race, how that information is used is the driver's decision, every driver complains or moans about something during a race and Alonso did many, many times. Perhaps you should re-examine the drivers statistics for the years you cited, you will find Hamilton is the only driver to have won a race every year he has been in F1 , even when he has been driving inferior equipment...Alonso not so much! Hamilton has never cheated to win a race or a pole position, Alonso has done both. I think perhaps their is a little more behind your dislike of Hamilton , not that you would admit. I admire and respect talent when I see it regardless of who shows it in whatever field they are in. Although I would accept Alonso had shown flashes of brilliance throughout his career, in comparison to Hamilton he is as I wrote previously an also ran, Hamilton remains the best driver of his generation.

I definitely think Alonso and Hamilton are the two best drivers in F1 but I give Fernando the edge. For people who say Hamilton is better I can't see their argument. In 2007, Alonso had to fight to have equal status with Hamilton on McLaren. McLaren was biased towards Hamilton the whole time during that season and even team boss Ron Dennis would refer to Alonso's car as the, "other car on the team." That year Alonso should have been world champion easily if their was fair treatment on that team. Secondly, since 2007 Alonso has destroyed all 4 of his teammates while Hamilton was out performed overall in 3 years against Button and right now is losing to Roseberg. Lastly, Every year with Ferrari Alonso overachieves with a bad car and fights with cars way faster than his. He also has been Vettel's runner-up in 2010,2012, and 2013. Since Hamilton's championship in 2008, he only has been a contender one year for the championship in 2010 (with the exception of this year but Mercedes is clearly the best car on the grid.) I rest my case. Oh, and Hamilton is the biggest jerk in F1 which is why I don't like him.

I agree FA and LH the best F1 racers at the moment but I disagree with your end result. It's a hard one and an argument that will go on for many more years to come. FA is a ruthless racer that dominates his team mates, unlucky for him to have LH as a team mate who is just as ruthless. They both missed out on scoring "more" points in 2007 for various reason's and as it stands LH comes out rather comfortably on top regarding the official stats of 2007. Reliable issues to one side I could never bet my life on who would win if it were a two man race with the both of them.

Meh... that Honda engine still doesnt compare to the Mercedes one... tho it would be epic :D

These two are the best drivers on the grid (Fernando the best and Lewis second) and two of the best of all time. I believe their rivarly will be remembered along with these of Prost-Senna and Lauda-Hunt. I'd love to see them teamates again. Please Mercedes bring Fernando to Brackley. Give us back the old beautiful f1 (2005-2012).

I am a fan of Alonso, but I really hope Lewis will do well in Merc. There are always needed to be the great rivalry like them in F1.
