Fender Special Edition Custom Telecaster FMT in amber - Shh... It's a secret...

Музыка

I purchased a SECOND Fender tele, so this is not only a new gear review, it's also a review after having owned one for a while. It's weird because I am typically NOT a fan of Fender in any way (though many of my influences play them) but I apparently love this particular model and line. For all practical purposes, it is made from Cort/Indonesia and Fender sells it as a Fender... So there's some distinction there.
Side note: I also just recently purchased a Canon 80D camera, and I'm quite blown away by the results. Yes, it's not the newest model out there, but it does incredible video footage. I'm quite happy with it. Being that my original review for my blackberry burst tele was done on a Samsung 8 cell phone, I've wanted to redo that video as it was for these last two years. I finally got a second tele (obviously in amber this time), so I went for it.
I will be using my instagram for extras, additional footage/sound clips, and deleted scenes that don't make it onto my youtube channel. The link for that is here:
reelCj9TmQ...
...and that's all I have for now. Thank you for watching!

I have this exact guitar - it became family to me the first day I played it for more than a few minutes - I'm looking at it now. I get more sounds out of it than I ever have from any other guitar. The irony is that to buy it I sold a MUCH more valuable and "prestigious" American-made instrument I'd always wanted - but could never afford - and discovered that try as I might, I just could never fall in love with it. Love is a wonderful thing - wherever you find it...

Thank you! I recently got a Musicman Sabre core model, and even still, this specific Fender still gets a LOT of play. It's a great all around instrument - live, studio, you name it. The pickups, the neck, the weight and comfortability... everything about it is top shelf. I don't know why Fender doesn't advertise it. That's the great mystery. :) If you do purchase it, you'll love it, I'm sure of it. And thanks again for the kind words. The people who view my channel are so cool. Keeps me inspired to make more content. I'll be featuring this guitar again in my upcoming review for the Fender Bassbreaker 30r amp (and other videos, I'm sure).

Great video thanks for posting. I just bought the Black Cherry Burst 2 weeks ago based on your original review that I had just run across lol. It's an amazing guitar for the money and definitely punches above its weight. I'm not a Fender guy at all and I normally don't like the necks but that 15.75 radius sold me. It's a sleeper shredder for sure.

Between you and me, I'm strongly not a Fender fan at all. This particular model stands far above all the other Fenders in my opinion. Definitely a shredders guitar for sure. The Black Cherry Burst commands attention... but it's also hard to put down, hahaha. :)

Loving both of them... but you know how it is with newer stuff vs older stuff, heh. It's a great guitar for a lot of different styles, and it's easy to play for sure. :)

I wanted to see if Fender still has these on their website, Dec 2023, and couldn’t find any. Seems discontinued. I have the amber made in Indonesia, bought about 2017, sorry, Crafted there. I have several guitars that are good, but this one, it is on a different level than the LPStdrd, or my American deluxe Strat, and the pickups just seem to feel and tickle sound. I would never sell it, and my descendants better not as well. Or I’ll be back!

Thanks for the great video. I agree that this is the perfect value for money, amazing sound and light weight! I have one and didn't touch any other guitar since then :) I just had a minor problem, and I wonder if others experience the same. My guitar's high E string sometimes slides off the fretboard. I tried to fix the saddle position as I didn't want to mess up the nut. Any advice on this ?

  • @onevoiceinc

Slides off the fretboard... hm. Offhand I don't know how to advise, BUT I'm going to try to experiment with mine (I'll pick really hard and give it a rough run-through) and try to duplicate this just to see if it'll do it. If it does, I'll try to come up with a fix. You 'stumped the band' at the moment, but I'll see what I can come up with. In the meantime, I'll also reach out to one of my luthier friends and see what they have to suggest. Hang tight. Let me see if help is available. :) As far as what you said about playing it, I'm in that boat right now. It feels so great, I just can't seem to want to play anything else, heh heh. :)

I had that 'high e slipping off the fretboard' problem with a les paul tradition pro II (it's a horrifying experience) and a luthier recut a new nut for it and it helped. Also contributing to that issue could be moving to that guitar after playing on a wider neck.

  • @Gdownification

Thanks for the review! I'm taking a hard look at this guitar. I have an Epiphone Les Paul Custom Pro (has the coil split) that I haven't really gotten along with. It looks great but just doesn't light my fire. I'm finding I tend to prefer Fender; I have an older MiM Strat that I love, and I've got along with all the Teles I've demoed. I'm curious, how do you think this would handle country music? I'm thinking both modern and classic stuff. I've been kicking around a single coil Tele for country (chicken pickin, etc), but I can kinda get close with the coil split on my Les Paul. Does it get that old school twang on the coil split bridge position? I loved the rock and AC/DC bits for the record. I may try new strings on the Les Paul too; the ones on it currently are thinner than I'd like. It looks awesome and does jazz surprisingly well, but I have an Ibanez artcore semi hollow for Jazz, and I like the looks of this Tele a bit better.

  • @onevoiceinc

    @onevoiceinc

    Жыл бұрын

Keep in mind this is very similar to your Les Paul type guitar, but with a Tele feel and neck dimensions. I think it would handle country twang, especially if your LP-style guitar already does it with split coils. I'm no country guitarist, but I've noodled around with a few country licks, and I liked what I heard. :) The neck plays SO well. It feels amazing to play, especially live.

It doesn't feel Ibanez thin (which almost feels too thin for me), but it feels thin. It's 14" radius, if memory serves, but beyond that, it is made to run across the frets. I've played made in US and made in Mexico Strats, and this neck is definitely thinner than those.
